10: Out of Control
Her Wolf [Teen Wolf]
It didn't take long for the scared teenagers to realise they couldn't make it to their cars without drawing attention. They had made it into a science classroom and locked the door shut, listening out for the Alpha with bated breaths. The door leading to the roof had a deadbolt, but neither of the young werewolves could risk using their strength to break it in front of the others -- and also in case they alerted the creature hunting them.
Scott turns his head to the three others that were aware of what was happening, "The janitor has a key," he says quietly, implying there was a way to open the door.
"You mean his body does," corrects Stiles as he narrows his eyes at him, trying to figure out what he was thinking.
Scott grimaces but nods, "I can get it. I can find him by scent, by blood."
Sky shakes her head at the idea, "Scott, no."
Stiles also disagreed, "Well, gee, that sounds like an incredibly terrible idea. What else you got?"
"What if we just wait it out?" wonders Ariel. "It's obviously waiting for us to make a move or else it would have tried to get in by now," she reasons.
Scott shakes his head, "We can't risk it," he steps forward and raises his voice. "I'm getting the key," he tells the others.
Allison looks up at him in disbelief, "Are you serious?" she frowns.
Scott sighs, "Well, it's the best plan. Someone has to get the key if we wanna get out of here," he tells her.
"You can't go out there unarmed," she counters. Scott looks around before grabbing a flimsy pointing stick, waving it around. Sky snorts, grabbing it out of his hands and tossing it behind them, her eyes conveying how ridiculous she thought that was.
"There's gotta be something else," murmurs Stiles.
Ariel looks over to her sister, finding her looking at the cabinet filled with chemicals they use in class. They share a look of understanding and Ariel moves towards her as Lydia speaks up, "There is."
Stiles frowns in confusion as he sees what they're thinking, "What are we gonna do? Throw acid on him?" he asks, doubtful.
Lydia scoffs at him, "No. Like a fire bomb. In there is everything you need to make a self-igniting molotov cocktail." she tells him as if the idea was obvious.
"Self-igniting -- " Stiles wasn't following.
" -- molotov cocktail," Lydia finishes, pausing at the looks of confusion on their faces. "What? I read it somewhere," Ariel sighs at her attempt to cover up her intelligence at a time like this.
"We don't have a key for that either," Stiles points out. Jackson rolls his eyes, marching up to the cabinet and smashing his elbows through the glass. Everyone blinks at him, before shrugging and letting Lydia get to work, Ariel and Jackson helping at her sides.
"Jackson, hand me the sulphuric acid?" asks Lydia as she holds her hand out to him. Ariel frowns as she looks over and sees him hesitating to pick up a bottle, but he quickly grabs it and hands it over.
Allison stands in front of Scott, "No. No, this is insane, you can't do this. You cannot go out there." she begs.
"We can't just sit here waiting for Stiles' dad to check his messages," he replies.
She was openly crying now, "You could die. Don't you get that? He's killed three people," she says.
"And we're next. Somebody has to do something," Scott reasons.
Sky looks at Ariel and back to them, taking a deep breath and stepping forward, "Yep, and that somebody is us," she tells him. Scott spins round to look at her, ready to protest, but stops when he sees the determined look in her eyes. There was no chance he was going alone. He nods reluctantly in acceptance.
Sky steps back for a second to leave her brother to have a moment with Allison, only to be grabbed by the arm and spun around.
Ariel glares at her, "What are you doing, Skylar? You can't go out there!" she hisses.
Sky sighs, "I have to, Ariel, he's my twin," she tells her. "Besides, we have a better chance at surviving anyway. Two against one."
Ariel stares at her in silence for a moment, eyes swirling with emotion, "You can't --" Ariel's voice cracks. "You can't get hurt, okay?"
Sky steps forward and hugs her tightly, seeing Scott give her a look as he makes his way to the door, "I'll be okay."
"If you die I'll bring you back and kill you myself," murmurs Ariel as she squeezes her tightly.
Sky huffs a laugh as she pulls away and plants a quick kiss on her forehead. "I won't," she reassures, moving back, "I gotta go, okay? I'll be back soon. I love you," she says quickly, turning around and jogging to the door, leaving with Scott as Allison locks it behind them.
Ariel stands there, staring at the door until Lydia pulls her sister into a hug, seeing her distress, "McCall's are so stupid," she mutters.
Ariel sniffs, chuckling, "She's going to kick herself when she realises," she says quietly.
Halfway down the corridor with Scott by her side, Sky suddenly pauses in her stride as what she said hits her. She sucks in a breath, slapping her palm to her forehead, muttering curses to herself.
Scott looks to her worriedly, "What?" he asks.
"Nothing," she mutters, glancing behind them. "I'm just that fucking idiot who declares their love in life or death situations."
Scott looks at her blankly and Sky sighs, "Let's keep moving."

The twins silently make their way to the gym and carefully approach the bleachers, wearily looking around for any signs of the Alpha. Scott looks underneath them and Sky grabs his arm.
"I'll go," she whispers, knowing she was faster. "You keep watch?"
Scott looks at her worried, but nods anyway, trusting her. He keeps the Molotov cocktail they'd been given tightly grasped to his chest, ready to watch her back.
Sky makes her way underneath, looking around. It was dark and the silence was daunting but she focused on making her way to the middle.
She stops when she smells blood, only to feel something drip onto her cheek. Sky raises her hand to wipe it off, lowering it to see red covering the tips of her fingers.
Eyes wide, she raises her head to see the janitor's body hanging above her. She sucks in a breath as she steps forward, climbing one of the supporting beams before reaching to swipe the keys from his belt.
Just as she manages to grab them, she hears the sound of something moving. She stumbles as the bleachers start to retract.
"Skylar!" she hears Scott call in worry. She jumps down quickly and runs as fast as she can, ducking out seconds before they could crush her.
Scott grabs her, looking her over. "Are you okay? Did you get the key?" he asks in a hushed tone and Sky nods, taking deep breaths.
But the sound of growling catches their attention, and they look to the other end of the gym as the Alpha appears, staring at them menacingly.
The twins tense, latching on to each others hands, "Come on," Scott whispers.
The Alpha races forward and Scott takes his cue to throw the cocktail at it. It shatters across the creature and they take a step back in surprise when nothing happens.
Sky curses and they turn around to run, but the Alpha moves faster as it grabs their ankles and yanks them back with a growl.
They land harshly with a groan and slide back into the centre of the gym - shoulder to shoulder. The Alpha towers over them with a clawed hand on each of their faces, leaning close as they stare in terror.
The twins squeeze each others hands tightly as the Alpha rears up and lets out a deafening roar that echoes all throughout the school, making the other teenagers that were hiding out heads whip up in alarm. Ariel and Stiles share a look of worry, thinking about what could possibly be happening, only to be distracted as Jackson falls to the floor in pain, clutching the back of his neck where he had been clawed by the Alpha and Derek. He kept repeating that he was fine but they knew something was wrong.
Meanwhile, Scott and Sky were being forced to go through a painful change as the Alpha disappears, seemingly getting what it came for. They shout in pain and writhe on the floor until it was over and they were fully changed into werewolves, angry with their instincts screaming to kill, and their prey was close.
They look at each other, lowly growling, before sniffing the air and following the scents of the others towards the classroom.
They stalk down the corridor, but as they got closer Skys ears perk up at a familiar voice.
"Come on, Sky. Come on," Ariel mutters, the sound of her pacing echoing in Sky's ears. But it was enough to hold herself back as she struggles with control, battling against the instinct to kill.
She focuses on Ariel, remembering that Stiles said she was her anchor.
Wolf features still present, Sky looks over to Scott, who seemed to be having his own internal battle with himself as he slides the key into the door but pauses, holding it there.
Protectiveness kicks in as Sky growls, tackling him to the ground, making the key snap as she pulls him away from the classroom, heaving from the struggle of their transformations as they calm down.
"Let's go," Sky eventually whispers as she watches Scott hunch over, trying to control himself. She leans over and helps him stand up straight while moving him away and to the exit.
Scott lets his sister lead him away, sighing in relief when hearing the familiar sounds of police sirens.

After being questioned by the Sheriff, Scott, Stiles and Sky turn to each other, though Sky was unusually quiet.
Stiles grins, trying to cheer them up, "Well, we survived, dude. You know? We outlasted the alpha. It's still good, right? Being alive?" he asks.
Scott shakes his head sadly as he watches his sister stare at her shoes, "When we were in the chemistry room, he walked right by us. You don't think that it heard us? You don't think it knew exactly where we were?" he says to Stiles.
Stiles frowns in confusion, "Well, then how come we're still alive?"
"It wants us in its pack," says Scott. "But I think, first -- We have to get rid of our old pack."
"What do you mean? What old pack?" wonders Stiles.
"Allison. Jackson, Lydia. Ariel. You," Scott lists.
Realisation dawns on Stiles's face, "The alpha doesn't wanna kill us --"
"It wants us to do it," Scott finishes. "And that's not even the worst part," he says, sharing a look with Sky.
"How in holy hell is that not the worst part, Scott?" exclaims Stiles as he waves his arms around.
"Because," Sky finally spoke up, sounding disappointed in herself. "When he made us shift - we wanted to do it. We wanted to kill you. All of you."
Scott puts a hand on her shoulder, "I wanted to rip you to shreds," she whispers.
Stiles looks at them, watching sadly as Sky turns and walks away when Deaton comes over to speak to them.
"She really believes she could hurt someone now," mumbles Scott as he watches her.
Sky wraps her arms around herself as she loses herself in her dark thoughts. Sure, she has been angry a lot, but she never acted on it this violently.
But then, a shout of her name knocks her out of her thoughts and she looks up just in time as a body barrels into hers.
"Ariel," she breathes into her hair quietly. She inhales and her scent instantly soothes her raging mind. She looks over her shoulder to see Scott talking to Allison in the distance, and it doesn't look good.
Ariel pulls back slightly after a moment, "You're okay?"Â she checks.
Sky smiles slightly, "My limbs are still attached to my body," she confirms.
Ariel relaxes as her eyes roam her face, "That's good," she glances behind her. "Lydia thinks you left us for dead," she tells her.
"Let her think that," says Sky. "What's she going to do? Sass me to death?" she snorts.
Ariel's lips curve up in amusement, "That's probably entirely possible with Lydia."
Sky looks to where Lydia was, then over to Scott who was wearing a heartbroken expression on his face as Allison walks away from him.
She sighs, "I should go. My brother looks like his heart just got stomped on and I need to go pick up the pieces. And your sister is also glaring at me."
Ariel nods, kissing her quickly, "I'll go and tame her. You take care of your brother," she moves to walk away, but pauses as she remembers something, pointing back at her with a warning finger. "And don't think I've forgotten about what you said, Sky. We'll talk tomorrow," she tells her before walking away.
Sky drags a hand over her face, groaning. She slowly makes her way over to Scott, grabbing his hand and squeezing it tightly as she sends him a sad smile, silently guiding him back over to where the Sheriff was so they could get a ride home.
