11: Panic Attack

Her Wolf [Teen Wolf]

Sky wasn't used to the amount of worrying she was currently doing.

First, her brother was heartbroken from Allison breaking up with him. His emotions were all over the place and Sky wasn't sure how to help him. Though she couldn't help but be impressed with his determination when he had vehemently told her that he was going to get Allison back.

Last night, she had let Stiles have a turn at keeping his mind off things by taking him out to drink, only Scott had just been incredibly moody the whole time while Stiles drank too much alcohol himself. Things had almost gotten a little out of hand when a couple of guys tried to rile Scott up, but luckily he had just scared them away instead of triggering his wolf-side and killing them.

Sky sighs to herself as she opens her locker, thoughts moving to her girlfriend. She wasn't good at feelings, yet she must of been feeling something if she had mindlessly let that 'love' word slip. Her mind was all over the place.

As she pulled some books out of her locker, she notices her brother rush out of a classroom in the corner of her eye, looking panicked as he runs to the locker rooms. He's shortly followed by Stiles. Sky slams her locker shut and quickly goes after them.

"What's happening, are you changing?" she hears Stiles ask as she walks in. Scott eyes look towards her desperately.

"I - I can't breathe," he wheezes out.

Sky immediately goes to her bag and digs around, looking for the spare inhaler she's carried around since they started middle school.

Her hand finds it and pulls it out quickly, putting it in his hands, "Here, use this. Come on, Scotty. Do it," she urges.

He places the inhaler into his mouth and inhales a few times, his breathing slowly coming down to a normal pace.

Scott frowns at her in confusion, "I was having an asthma attack?" he asks.

Stiles shakes his head, answering, "No, you were having a panic attack. But thinking you were having an asthma attack actually stopped the panic attack. Irony," he pauses. "I used to get them after my mom died. Not fun, huh?"

"What happened?" Sky asks quietly.

Scott glances up at her, "I looked at her, and it was like someone hit me in the ribs with a hammer," he tells them.

Stiles nods, "Yeah, it's called heartbreak. About 2 billion songs written about it," Sky sends him a look.

Scott's head hangs low, "I can't stop thinking about her," he mumbles.

Sky sighs, "Listen, Scotty," she starts. "I'm sorry this happened. If she knew what was really going on, maybe it would of ended differently, but it didn't. Now, you said you'd get her back, but that takes time, okay?" She squeezes his shoulder as he nods, taking in her words. "She needs time to process what happened before she can forgive you and then you can charm her back with the McCall charms," She cracks a smile.

Stiles nods, saying, "You could think about this: Her dad's a werewolf hunter, and you're a werewolf, so it was bound to become an issue," he stops at their looks. "That wasn't helpful. Dude, I mean, yeah, you got dumped, and it's supposed to suck."

Scott shakes his head, "It was like I could feel everything in the room, everyone else's emotions," he tells them.

Stiles's face pulls up in thought, "It's got to be the full moon. So we'll lock you guys up in your room later just like we planned. That way the Alpha, who is your boss, can't get to you, either," He says.

Sky pauses, "Wait, lock us up?" She hadn't heard this plan yet but Stiles waves her off, making her huff in annoyance.

Scott carries on, "I think we need to do a lot more than lock me in my room." he says.

"What, you mean because if you get out, you'd be caught by hunters?" asks Stiles.

"No. Because if I get out - I think I might kill someone," Scott admits.

Sky looks between them sharply, "We need a serious plan," she tells them. "For both of us."

After her next class, Sky was lost in her thoughts as she walks down the corridor to go to the lacrosse field when she felt something grab her. She yelps as a familiar hand drags her round the corner and pulls her into the janitors closet, shutting it behind her.

The hand slaps over her mouth just as she goes to speak, leaving her to stare wide-eyed at the girl in front of her as they stand in the dimly lit room, inches away from each other.

"Calm down," Ariel rolls her eyes. "It's just me."

Sky stares at her pointedly until she removes her hand from her mouth, "You know, there are better ways to get my attention than kidnapping me," she tells her.

Ariel snorts, "Yeah, well we need to talk. And I know you're avoiding me, McCall."

Sky bites her lip as she looks away, "Avoiding? I would never."

Ariel gives her an unimpressed look until Sky's shoulder sag, "I may have accidentally refrained from being in your general vicinity," she sheepishly admits.

"I know," says Ariel. "But that's not the point."

"And that point would be -- ?"

"You told me you loved me," Ariel states, getting straight to the point.

Sky squirms, "Did I?"

Ariel raises her brow as she smirks, "Yes."

"Me?"

"You."

Sky sighs, "I don't know what you want me to say," she admits.

Ariel tilts her head to the side as she observes her, "Did you mean it?" she wonders.

"Did you want me to mean it?" Sky retorts.

Ariel frowns, "Don't answer my question with a question."

"Well, don't answer my question with a non-answer to my question to your question," rambles Sky.

Ariel sighs in exasperation, "Look, it's okay if you didn't mean it. You said it in the heat of --"

"Woah, woah, woah," Sky stops her. "I never said I didn't mean it," she blurts out.

"So, you did mean it?"

Sky fidgets, saying, "I may or may not have meant to say it, but -- "

"-- you love me?" interrupts Ariel, lips twisting up into a smug smile.

Sky squints at her, "You're getting some sort of sick satisfaction out of making me squirm, aren't you?"

" . . . It's a newly discovered guilty pleasure," Ariel admits.

Sky groans, "I can't believe I love your annoying ass," she mutters.

Ariel grins again, eyes sparkling, "What was that?"

Sky scoffs, "Oh, you heard me."

"I know, I'm just basking in the sound of you admitting your feelings for me," says Ariel, fanning herself in jest. "It's doing wonders for my ego."

"Yes, it's taking up the entire space of this closet," Sky deadpans. "Speaking of, can I leave now?"

Ariel grabs her arm, smirking, "You don't want to stay hidden in this small space with me?"

Sky moves to leave, "Not when you're being mean to me."

Ariel pouts mockingly, "I only do it 'cause I love you."

Sky trips over nothing, grunting as she stumbles, "What the fuck, woman?" she grumbles.

Ariel can barely keep her laughter restrained, "What?" she asks, innocently.

"I swear, you're trying to kill me," Sky mutters before spinning around and pulling her girlfriend into a kiss, feeling her hum into it.

Ariel grins as they pull away, "Only with love, Sky," she winks.

Sky groans, "Stop it," she whines, leaning in to kiss her again.

Ariel lets her, letting themselves sink into each other for a moment, only to jump apart as the door swings open and a cough interrupts them.

"Uhh -" Sky blinks at the new janitor who was looking unimpressed at them.

Ariel pulls her arm giving the man a sheepish smile, "Sorry, sir," she says as they quickly leave the closet. She chuckles as she watches Sky try to pull herself together in the corner of her eye.

Sky catches her look and glares, "That was your fault."

Ariel shrugs, "Yeah," she looks at the clock on the wall. "We're nearly late for class," she says.

Sky rolls her eyes, "Thanks, princess."

"You're welcome," Ariel grins then plants a kiss on her cheek. "I'll see you later?"

Sky softens at the gesture, "Sure. I'm gonna go make sure Scott hasn't killed someone," she mumbles, turning to walk away, thinking of how her brother was doing now.

She spoke too soon as she strolls past the Coach's office and sees him making out with Lydia. Sky's face scrunches up in a grimace.

"Oh, god," she mutters. "Rock bottom, here we are."

She shakes her head, walking past and trying to will the image out of her mind. She needed to find Stiles so they could come up with a plan to make sure that didn't happen again.

Sky pauses. That was a bad idea. Stiles has a long time crush on Lydia and telling him would break his heart.

She curses Scott.
