05: Dreams

Her Wolf [Teen Wolf]

"You didn't."

"He did," says Stiles.

Sky's nose scrunches up, "Why would you tell me that?"

Scott had a dream last night. A sexy dream that turned into more of a nightmare that apparently felt so real he felt the need to share all the details.

Sky looks around in search of bleach for her brain while the three of them walk toward the school.

"So you killed her?" clarifies Stiles.

Scott sighs, running a hand through his shaggy hair, "I don't know. I just woke up. And I was sweating like crazy, and I couldn't breathe. I've never had a dream where I woke up like that before."

Stiles looks at him, "Really? I have. Usually ends a little differently."

Sky gags and smacks the back of his head, "Stop making my ears bleed."

Scott nods in agreement, " 'A,' I meant I've never had a dream that felt that real, and 'B' never give me that much detail about you in bed again!" he exclaims.

Stiles winces, rubbing his head and glaring playfully at Sky, "Noted. Let me take a guess here --"

"No," interrupts Scott. "I know, you think it has something to do with me going out with Allison tomorrow, like I'm gonna lose control and rip her throat out."

"It would be memorable for a first date," comments Sky.

Stiles pulls a face of innocence, "No, of course not," he pauses, relenting. "Yeah, that's totally it,"  He admits.

Stiles pats Scott on the back, "Hey, come on, it's gonna be fine, all right? Personally, I think you're handling this pretty amazingly. You know, it's not like there's a lycanthropy for beginners class you can take."

"Yeah, not a class, but maybe a teacher," Scott points out.

Sky's eyebrows raise sceptically, "Who, Derek? You forget the part where you guys got him tossed in jail?" Stiles nods in agreement.

Scott sighs, "Yeah, I know, but chasing her, dragging her to the back of the bus, it felt so real. "

"But, I mean, it couldn't be -- " Sky glances at their faces. "Right?"

"How real?" Stiles asks worriedly when they come to a stop at a small crowd that was surrounding a school bus. Police were all over the area.

"Like it actually happened..."  Scott trails off as they stare.

"I think it did," says Stiles. They all gape at the bloody scene before them. The school bus was torn apart from the inside and the insides were splattered with red as well as the broken doors at the back.

Looking at each other in alarm, the three quickly run towards the school in search of Allison, Scott frantically typing on his phone.

Stiles tries to stay optimistic, "She's probably fine," he says lightly.

"She's not answering my texts, guys," Scott panics.

"Maybe because you mauled her in a make-out session gone wrong," mutters Sky, wincing when her brother's panic increases at the idea of it being real.

"It could just be a coincidence, all right? A seriously amazing coincidence," Stiles tries to ease him as they rushed down the hallway, giving Sky a 'shut up' look.

Scott groans in dispair, "Just help me find her, okay? Do you see her?" he looks around the hallway.

"No," Sky sighs out as they rush round a corner, only for her and Scott to bump into people. Sky curses then sighs in relief to see they had found Allison, with Ariel by her side.

"You scared the hell out of me," Allison says to Scott as she picks up the papers she had dropped in fright. Sky looks up to see Ariel staring at her with wide eyes, clutching her books to her chest.

"I'm sorry," Sky blurts out, ignoring the couple next to them.

Ariel shakes her head slightly as she smiles at her, "No, it's okay," she pauses. "Unless you're trying to give me a heart attack?" she jokes.

Sky's lips curve upwards, "I'd rather only make your heart skip a beat."

Ariel grins, "Smooth, McCall."

"That does happen on occasion."

Ariel's smile settles as the gazes at the girl in front of her. She breathes deeply, "Well, in that case, would you care to pick me up tomorrow night?"

Sky's head tilts in confusion, "Tomorrow night?"

Ariel nods, "For our date."

Sky would forever deny that her jaw dropped in that moment.

"Date?"

"Eight O'clock okay for you, McCall?"

Sky could only nod, dumbfounded as Ariel flashes a smile, plants a kiss on her cheek and struts away in a typical Martin fashion.

A moment later, she casts a glance to her side to see Scott and Allison still hovering, looking at her in amusement.

Her cheeks turn darker, "Shut up," she grumbles, forcing a frown before walking away from their chuckling towards her classroom, unable to stop the smile from peeking onto her face.

She had a date.

***

In class, Sky was sitting behind Scott and Stiles as, together, they discussed possibilities of what could of actually happened.

"Maybe it was my blood on the door," suggests Scott.

"How do you know it's even blood?" Skylar points out, shrugging at their doubtful stares.

"Could have been animal blood. You know, maybe you caught a rabbit or something," Stiles carries on, trying to find a logical explanation.

"And did what?" Scott asks sceptically.

Stiles looks at him seriously, "Ate it."

"Raw?" the twins both mutter, disgusted looks on their faces.

Stiles rolls his eyes, "No, you stopped to bake it in a little werewolf oven. I don't know, you're the one who can't remember anything."

Their voices catch Mr. Harris's attention as he turns and narrows his eyes at them, "Mr Stilinksi, if that's your idea of a hushed whisper, you might want to pull the headphones out every once in a while. I think you and the McCall's would benefit from a little distance, yes?" he gestures for him to move away.

"No," Stiles grumbles, getting up to move.

"Let me know if the separation anxiety gets to be too much."

A student stands up as they spot something out the window, "Hey, I think they found something," they call out, making all the students stand up to get a look. Someone was being taken to an ambulance.

"That's not a rabbit," Scott mumbles.

The guy on the gurney being wheeled to the ambulance jumps up and screams, making everyone flinch back in surprise.

"Definitely not a rabbit," Sky agrees.

"Okay. This is good, this is good. He got up, he's not dead. Dead guys can't do that," Stiles supplies. Sky nods, putting a hand on Scott's shoulder.

"Stiles -- I did that," Scott points out, disappointment clear in his tone.

"But dreams aren't memories," points out Stiles as they sit in the cafeteria.

Sky nods as she picks at her food, "Yeah, something doesn't seem right."

Scott sighs, "Then it wasn't a dream. Something happened last night, and I can't remember what."

"What makes you so sure Derek has all the answers?" Sky wonders, scepticism clear on her face.

Scott looks at her, "Because during the full moon he wasn't changed," She looks up in interest. "He was in total control while I was running around in the middle of the night attacking some totally innocent guy."

"If it makes you feel any better, I nearly maimed Ariel."

"It doesn't."

"You don't know that's true," says Stiles.

Scott shakes his head in disagreement, "I don't not know it. I can't go out with Allison. I have to cancel."

Sky frowns, "No, Scotty, don't cancel. You cant just cancel your life."

Stiles nods, "Yeah, we'll figure it out."

"Figure what out?" A voice interrupts.

Raising their heads, they're greeted by the sight of Lydia Martin putting her tray down on their table and taking a seat beside Scott. Ariel, Allison and others following. Sky's shares a look of confusion with the boys as Ariel sits next to her and Allison sits on Scott other side.

"Just homework," supplies Scott, that seems to be enough.

Sky gives Ariel a curious look, to which she receives a secretive smile.

Jackson makes his way over with his lunch and stares down the boy sitting at the end of the table, "Get up."

The guy frowns, "How come you never ask Danny to get up?" he asks.

Danny smirks, "Because I don't stare at his girlfriend and her sisters coin slot," Sky shifts uncomfortably as the guy gives in and gets up. "So I hear they're saying it's some type of animal attack. Probably a cougar," Danny carries on.

Jackson takes a bite of his apple, "I heard a mountain lion," he comments.

"A cougar is a mountain lion," Lydia corrects before realising her intelligence was showing. "Isn't it?" she adds.

Ariel and Sky glance at each other and roll their eyes.

"Who cares? The guy's probably some homeless tweaker who's gonna die anyway," Scoffs Jackson. Sky takes a deep breath, forcing herself to not lash out and rearrange his well structured face.

Stiles bringing his phone up catches their attention, "Actually, I just found out who it is. Check it out."

Everyone watches as he brings up a news clip of the events that happened earlier, showing the identity of the man who was attacked. Sky sucks in a breath as she recognises him and shares a look with her brother.

"We know him," Scott admits.

"You do?" asks Allison. Ariel looks at Sky curiously.

Scott nods, "Yeah, when we used to take the bus back when we lived with our dad," Sky face darkens at the mention of their father, uncomfortable. "He was the driver."

Lydia tuts, deciding to change the subject, "Can we talk about something slightly more fun, please? Like, oh, where are we going tomorrow night? You said you and Scott were hanging out tomorrow night, right?" She looks at Allison.

Allison goes wide eyed, glancing at Scott, "Um, we were thinking of what we were gonna do."

Lydia rolls her eyes, "Well, I am not sitting home again watching lacrosse videos, so if the six of us are hanging out, we are doing something fun."

Dread fills Sky as she looks at Ariel in horror, only to see her looking nothing less than annoyed, "No, Lyds," she says to her sister, gaining her attention as she slides her hand over Sky's and squeezes it in reassurance under the table.

"Sky and I have a date tomorrow night, sorry."

Sky chokes on air, glancing at Ariel in shock. But Lydia just raises her eyebrows in amusement, smirks and nods in acceptance as she looks between them knowingly.

Sky leans slightly closer to Ariel, whispering, "You're my hero," Ariel winks.

Now that she had escaped hanging out with them, Sky was free to laugh at Scott's horrified face at the idea, "Hanging out? Like, the four of us? Do you wanna hang out, like us and them?" he clarifies, looking to Allison.

Allison looks at him sheepishly, "Yeah, I guess. Sounds fun," she shrugs.

"What a train wreck," mutters Ariel. Sky snorts.

Jackson looks less then pleased, "You know what else sounds fun? Stabbing myself in the face with this fork," he lifts his own up for emphasis.

Sky raises the fork in her own free hand, "I volunteer as tribute," she says, a sickly sweet smile on her face. She feels a hand pull hers down and the sounds of light chuckling from the girl beside her.

Lydia rolls her eyes at them and carries on, "How about bowling?" she suggests, smiling at Jackson. "You love to bowl."

Jackson scoffs, "Yeah, with actual competition."

Allison frowns, going quickly to their defence, "How do you know we're not actual competition? You can bowl, right?"  She looks toward Scott, who looks like a deer in headlights.

"Sort of," he mumbles.

"Is it sort of, or yes?" challenges Jackson.

"Yes," Scott blurts out, making Stiles's eyes widen at his lie. Sky turns to Ariel and shakes her head in despair, making Ariel bite her lip to hold a laugh.

"In fact, I'm a great bowler."

***

"I've never cringed so hard in my life, Scott," informs Sky as she and Ariel trail behind him and Stiles. She decides not to comment on how Ariel hadn't let go of her hand so she chooses to swing it between them instead.

"You're a terrible bowler," Stiles exclaims.

Scott sighs in distress, "I know, I'm such an idiot."

"God, it was like watching a car wreck. I mean, first it turned into the whole group date thing. And then out of nowhere comes that phrase," expresses Stiles, waving his arms around and nearly hitting Sky on the head in the process. She pushes him away.

"Hang out," repeats Scott.

"You don't hang out with hot girls, okay? It's like death. Once it's hanging out, you might as well be her gay best friend. You and Danny can start hanging out," Stiles waves his hand towards Sky. "Look at Sky, we hang out and now she's my gay best friend!" he exclaims.

"Oh, my god," mutters Sky.

"How is this happening? I either killed a guy or I didn't," says Scott. Luckily, Sky had decided to keep Ariel up to date on their drama so she wasn't confused.

"I don't think Danny likes me very much," Stiles muses.

"Not really," chuckles Ariel.

"I ask Allison on a date," Scott carries on grumbling. "And now we're hanging out."

"Am I not attractive to gay guys?" wonders Stiles.

Sky watches in amusement. She looks over to Ariel, "See what I have put up with?"

Ariel smirks, "No wonder you get along so well."

Sky frowns playfully, "Hey — "

Scott turns around to face her, "I make first line, and the team captain wants to destroy me, and now—now I'm gonna be late for work!" Scott says,  rushing away.

"Wait, Scott," Stiles calls after him, "You didn't— am I attractive to gay guys? You didn't answer —" he trails off. He turns and looks at the girls questioningly.

"Do we look like gay guys to you?" scowls Sky, putting her free hand on her hip, narrowing her eyes at him in warning.

Stiles's eyes widen, "Wha -- No! Of course not," he pauses. "But, am I?" he wonders.

Ariel chuckles as she puts a hand on his shoulder, gaining his attention, "Stiles, you are a good-looking boy. Any gay guy would be lucky to have you," she assures him before dragging Sky outside the school and to the parking lot.

"So, tomorrow?" asks Sky as they stand by Ariel's car.

Ariel smirks, "Not getting cold feet are you, McCall?"

Sky scoffs, "Of course not."

Ariel hums, "Well, good. I'm excited."

"You are?"

Ariel's eyes soften as she leans closer to Sky, "Don't doubt yourself, Sky."

She leans to the side and kisses her cheek, smiling as she pulls away completely before getting into her car, "Bye, McCall."

Sky's small smile follows her car as she leaves, "Bye," she whispers.
