162âSilas Is Powerful
Nora:
âSo, whatâs going on with her?â Nash asked. I had passed out again after hearing all the
commotion. I woke up to a pair of cold hands touching my forehead and arms.
âSheâs running a fever, but it should come down soon. Give her this. medicine, and sheâll be fine,â
Silas said, his voice coming from close by. He sat right beside me, checking on me.
âWhatâs that?â Silas asked, touching my ring.
âHer fingerâs turning blue. Do you think sheâs losing blood in her finger?â Nash asked, and I started
to force myself to snap out of it. I didnât want them to take that ring off
âThis ring used to be pretty loose on her finger, right?â Silas inquired.
âDo you think the illness affected her fingers?â Nash continued.
âI donât know. It doesnât seem so; they still look pretty slender and sexy to me,â Silasâs comment was
met with a scoff from Nash.
âPlease, after what happened, just spare such remarks.â Nash grunted
at him.
âWhat are you two doing?â Rykerâs voice came, and I relaxed as I felt him release my hand from
Silasâs grasp.
âI think we should take off her ring, or else she might lose her finger,â Silas suggested.

I wasnât sure what they were talking about. I didnât feel any pain in my finger. Was it really turning
blue? And if so, why?
âThatâs none of our business,â however, Ryker somewhat shocked me with his response, âsheâs
dating that alpha. Let him deal with her issues. Why should we worry when she doesnât give a damn
about her brothers not liking that asshole?â
I was shocked, and Iâm sure his brothers were too because none of them. spoke for a while until
Silas spoke up.
âI donât know about you guys, but I take my patients seriously.â
âSheâs not a patient. Sheâs just stressed,â Ryker scoffed, âIâm sure beating up her boyfriend made
her a bit disappointed in him, and the anger reached her head.â
I had to wake up now to glare at him. He was unbelievably arrogant, and finally, I started to open
my eyes.
âOkay, sheâs waking up. Those who have a problem with her should just leave,â Nash commented,
and the moment I opened my eyes, I watched Ryker leave.
âYouâre okay now,â Nash leaned over me and smiled, his fingers brushing my cheek as he tried to
tuck away bothersome strands of hair. He quickly withdrew his hand at Silasâs remark.
âSomeone said not to do anything inappropriate anymore,â he muttered under his breath, filling a
spoon with medicine for me. Nash rolled his eyes at the reminder of his earlier joke that Silas had
teased him about.
âCome on, big girl, get up!â Silas encouraged, holding the spoon towards me.
I struggled to keep my eyes open, but thanks to Nash who lifted me

slightly and helped me sit up, I managed. Silas leaned over me, and thatâs when our eyes met as he
offered me the medicine.
His eyes!
They were so beautiful, a stunning shade of gray. In fact, as I kept staring into his eyes, I noticed
the gray color seemed to shift. It began to swirl and coalesce, forming what looked like a full moon.
No, not a moon, it was actually a crescent moon. But then black started to blend. in with it. The gray
was trying to escape from the black, and I was completely absorbed in what was happening.
âHey!â Suddenly, a sharp noise snapped my attention away from Silasâs eyes. Nash had pushed
Silas back and away from me.
âIâll kill you if you did that again,â Nashâs voice growled beside me.
What did Silas do?
âFine. I was just trying to make sure sheâs okay.â Silas raised his hands in surrender, stepping back
while Nash continued to glare at him.
âWhat happened?â I asked in a timid voice, causing Nash to turn and face me. Silas lowered his
hands and glanced at me from behind Nash, a faint smirk appearing on his lips before he slid his
hands into his pockets and walked out of the room.
âLook at me. Donât let him take care of you without my help, okay?â Nashâs tone was serious, but I
couldnât understand why.
âHis medicine is already working.â I grinned foolishly, trying to convey to Nash that Silas seemed to
know what he was doing.
âNo! Listen to me, okay? Donât let him treat you. Especially after he
gives you medicine, donât look him in the eye. In fact, after the
medicine, donât look at him at
medicine, donât look at him at all,â his warning sent shivers down my

spine.
I couldnât understand what had upset Nash so much and made Silas leave the room.
âOkay,â I shrugged, not really grasping his point.
âNora! You might think Iâm crazy, but Iâm saying this for your own good,â he sat down with me after
calming down. He seemed more frightened than I was.
âBut Nash! He didnât do anything. He was just taking care of me,â I smiled at him, letting him know
Silasâs medicine worked like a charm.
âIâm sure he was. Heâs an excellent doctor. But remember, whenever he gives you medicine, you
become his patient. Right after you take the medicine, donât look him directly in the eye, or just
avoid him entirely,â he repeated himself, making me frown.
âHe was taking care of me, donât worry.â I reassured, until he finally explained why he was so
concerned for me.
âHe was hypnotizing you,â he finished, and my mouth dropped open.
âHuh?â
âIâm sure he was doing it to find out what happened to you. But Iâm not sure if you want him to know
things about you that even you donât,â his words scared me.
Silas could hypnotize someone?
âDonât look too surprised. Heâs not the best healer for nothing,â he muttered, then added, âbut donât
worry, he doesnât harm his patients.â
I donât know why, but suddenly I was afraid of Silas.
