Chapter 15

Lisa's POV

"Okay. That's a wrap. See you next Friday guys." Seulgi said.

We've been practicing since last week and I would lie if I said that it wasn't intense. Well, there's a competition next month and that's what we have been preparing for. Our school's dance crew are the champion of the said competition so, it would take double efforts for us to defend the throne.

"Lisa? The practice has ended. Why don't you pack your things?" Seulgi asked while wiping the beads of sweat at her forehead.

"I'm just thinking about having one more round about my assignment. I don't want to mess it up." I replied.

Seulgi gave us an assignment where at every end of the practice, we need to show a solo performance. According to her, this is a way to help us to boost our confidence and lessen our nervousness when we perform at the front of a hundred people.

Momo has done her part earlier and I was amazed by her moves. Her edgy and powerful dance can attract lots of attention. Even me, I was mesmerized when she started dancing.

"But your turn is still on next Friday. You better go and take some rest." Seulgi insist.

"My performance needs a little more polishing. I'll go home when I'm done. Just one round captain. I promise." I begged. Seulgi shook her head and smiled in defeat.

"I really can't do anything when it comes to dancing." She replied. My face brighten when I heard that. I'm lucky that captain and I share the same love about dancing.

"But let me stay and watch your performance." She added which made me surprised.

"What? It was supposed to be a surprise." I pouted.

"But you said your dance need some more polishing. I might help you in that part."

"Yeah right. Fine. As if I can argue with you." I said and went towards the speaker. I hear Seulgi's chuckle as I walk my way towards the corner of the room.

"How was it?" I asked between my breaths. I took a sit at the floor and waited for Seulgi's response.

"Are you fucking kidding me? Where was the part that you say that you need to polish?!" Seulgi exclaimed.

I just laugh and took my water bottle to have some drink. Dancing is exhausting but at the same time, it's fun.

"Say Manoban, what do you think about my offer?" Seulgi suddenly asked.

"Is this about being the captain of Black Velvet next year?" I asked. Seulgi just hummed and nodded.

"You know my answer cap. And for the nth time, it will always be the same." I replied.

"Ugh. What a shame." She brushed her hair out in frustration. I giggled at her antics.

"What should I do to change your mind?" She asked.

"Give me Irene." I replied seriously. Seulgi's eyes suddenly went dark and was about to jump towards me but I suddenly burst out in laughter.

"Yah! I'm just joking. I'm not that kind of person." I said between my laughs.

"Jokes are half-meant." She said coldly.

"I'm serious cap. I won't take Irene away from you. You know that I love dancing but handling a bunch of people is not my forte." I replied.

"Fine. I won't ask you anymore about that. Just don't take Irene away from me." Seulgi pointed towards me.

"Whipped." I whispered, but loud enough for her to hear. Seulgi tried to smack me but I'm fast enough to dodge her. I stick out my tongue and she just groaned in annoyance.

I fixed my things and walk our way outside the campus in silence. I fidget my fingers nervously which didn't escape from Seulgi's eyes.

"Are you okay Manoban?" She asked. I just nodded but still fidgeting my fingers.

"Cap, can I ask you something?" I blurted.

"Sure. What is it?"

"H-How did you know that you're, you know, that you're into girls?" I asked. Seulgi hold her chin and look upward thinking of an appropriate answer.

"I really don't know how it start. But I just woke up one day that I'm checking out girls most of the time than boys."

"Have you tried dating guys?"

"Yeah. But I can't feel anything unlike when I started dating girls. Wait, aren't we at the same page?"

I shook my head which made her eyes widened.

"What the fuck? You're joking right? Then why are you asking me this?" She asked. I just scratched my nape shyly. I flinched when she suddenly wrapped her arms around me and ruined my hair.

"You're a one confuse fella!" Seulgi laughed.

"Yah! Not my hair!" I said and force myself to get out from her arms. My eyebrows furrowed as I fix my hair. Why does she need to ruin my precious hair?

"But seriously, I thought you were one of us. And I thought you and Jennie are together. I mean, you both act like girlfriends."

"We're just best friends."

"That's where Irene and I started." She replied.

"But me and Jennie's case are way more different than yours."

"Wait. You like her don't you? Oh shit. Lalisa Manoban, I now pronounce you as an official member of the gay club! Welcome lesbo!" Seulgi said and act like a priest who just led a wedding. I smack her arm playfully and of course, being her, she did everything to have revenge. The hallway towards the outside of the campus was full of laughter and bickering from the both of us.

As we reached the main gate of the campus, I immediately stopped when I noticed a familiar feline eyes staring right back at us. Seulgi was confused why I suddenly stopped so she followed my eyes and when she saw where I'm looking at, a mischievous smirk flashed at her mouth. Seulgi nudge me and wriggled her eyebrows teasingly. I widened my eyes at her to warn her. I was not able to tell her that Jennie hate gays.

"So long Manoban." Seulgi waved goodbye.

"Bye Jennie." She said as she passed right through her. Jennie wave back and sent out a force smile. Seulgi on the other hand, turn around and mouthed "Go and get your girl" at me. Luckily, she was facing Jennie's back or else everything would be over.

"Why are you hanging out with her?" Jennie said and crossed her arms.

"She's the captain of the crew and we're friends Nini."

"You might get infected!"

"Infected?"

"Yah. The gay disease." She replied and quoted the word gay with her fingers.

"Nini, being gay is not like a contagious disease. It's a choice. It's my choice." I said, whispering the last part to myself.

"Why are you here anyway? School has ended hours ago." I added, trying my best to divert the topic.

"Isn't it obvious? I was waiting for my best friend. And Jisoo invited us to her house to hang out." She replied and flashed her gummy smile.

I wish we could be more than best friends.

Jennie's gummy smile slowly fade away when some familiar voice called my name.

"Lisa!" I turned around to see who the owner of the voice is, and it's no other than, Nayeon.

"Hey. What's up?"

"You forgot didn't you?"

I furrowed my eyebrows as I think about what she's pertaining to.

"Coffee. You ditched me last time. Don't tell me you're going to ditched me today too?" She pouted.

"Oh yeah. Is that today?" I asked and scratched my nape. Nayeon asked me once again to have coffee with her and since I declined her offer last time, I have no choice but to agree to go with her this time. I heard a scoff coming from behind me. I almost forgot, Jennie is right here, waiting for me.

But who am I going to choose?

I don't want to be rude and besides, Nayeon asked me first. I turn back at Jennie who is now glaring at me.

"Nini..." I started.

"Don't tell me you're coming with her Manoban?" She replied.

"I'm sorry. She asked me first."

"I can't believe this." Jennie scoffed.

"I'm really sorry Nini. I promise, I'll go to Jisoo's after this." I replied and waved her goodbye.

Jennie's POV

I really can't believe that Lisa chose that bunny over me. I groaned in annoyance as I follow them with my eyes as they walked away. Nayeon even had the guts to turn back at me and let out a smirk. She then clung at Lisa's hands and smiled at her. The audacity of the girl really makes me cringe. I gritted my teeth, wanting to send some daggers towards the two of them.

"Where's Lisa?" Rosѐ asked.

"Gone. With that bunny." I said coldly.

"Ooof. Lisa chose Nayeon over you? That's odd." Jisoo said.

"Maybe they're starting to be a thing?" Rosѐ replied.

I faced the two and glared at them but seems like they're getting used at me glaring at them because they wouldn't stop laughing and teasing me. They keep on telling how jealous am I which is clearly isn't true.

"I'm going home." I said and walk away from the duo.

"Yah! What about the movie?" Jisoo yelled but I just waved without looking at them.

I tossed my bag and flopped myself to my bed. I still can't believe that Lisa really chose her over me. I'm her best friend and that Nayeon? She just met her. And Lisa know how much my hatred towards that girl is.

"What are you looking at? Tss." I said as I glanced toward the photo at my desk. I flipped it over and grab my phone and earphone. I need some music to let this steam out.

I was woken up by the ringing of my phone. I glanced at the clock at my side table, it was evening already. Did I really sleep that long? I grabbed my phone and was surprised at what I've found.

30 missed calls from Lili.

20 messages from Lili.

"Now you're calling me. Tss." I said and flipped over my phone. I was about to go back to sleep when my phone rang once again. I sighed and answer it. Who knows, maybe this monkey is in trouble. She's still my best friend even if she ditched me earlier.

"Hello-"

"Nini! I've been calling you so many times! Where are you?" Lisa sounded worried.

"Why?"

"I'm here outside of your place-" I didn't let her finish and end the call. I went downstairs and opened the front door. And there, Lisa was standing right in front of the door with her eyebrows furrowed while looking at her phone. I leaned at the door frame and crossed my arms.

"What do you want?" I said which made Lisa quickly raise her head up and look at me.

"Yah! Have you been here all this time? Why aren't you answering my calls?"

"I was sleeping."

"Oh yeah, that explains the drool right there." She said and pointed at the side of my mouth. I quickly straightened my posture and wipe my mouth with my hand, but there's no any sign of drool.

"Kidding." Lisa said and made a peace sign out of her fingers. I scoffed and went back inside. I was about to close the front door but she was quick enough to stop it with her foot.

"I was just joking." She pouted.

"What the hell are you doing here?"

"To hang out with you. I went at Jisoo's as I promise but she said that you went home instead. I was starting to think that's she's lying because there's no one who's been answering my calls. I thought that you really didn't go home."

"And what makes you think that I'll hang out with you after you chose that bunny over me?"

"Because I brought some milk ice cream." She said and lifted the bag the she was holding. My eyes twinkle as soon as I saw the milk ice cream that she's holding.

"And mostly because I'm your best friend." She added and let out a confident grin.

"The ice cream can go inside but not you." I said and rolled my eyes at her.

"Nope. Me and the ice cream are one. If you want this, then you need to let me in too." She replied.

"Ugh. Fine. You're lucky that I love you." I replied.

"W-What? Y-you love m-me?"

"Of course! You're my best friend. Why are you so surprised?" I asked and tilted my head slightly.

"Y-yeah r-right." Lisa said and went straight inside my house. I raised one of my eyebrow at Lisa's sudden change of mood.

"Weird." I muttered to myself before closing the front door.
