Chapter 18

Lisa's POV

"Okay guys, let's have a break. 20 minutes, after that, we'll start again. Understood?" Seulgi said.

"Yes captain." All of us said.

I sat down at the floor, panting. The competition is getting nearer and our practice is more intense than ever. But no one ever dare to complain. All of us knew that if even one of us mess up, it will reflect to the whole team.

"Yo. Lisa."

My eyes squinted when I heard that familiar voice calling my name. I ignored that certain voice and took my water bottle, my throat is getting dry and I need to stay hydrated.

"Yah. Come on. Don't ignore me."

The owner of the voice said as he sat down in front of me, I almost threw up the water that I'm drinking when I saw his face.

"What the fuck Hanbin?" I yelled and rubbed my chest to calm my surprised heart.

"What? Did I do anything wrong?" He replied and tilted his head slightly to the side.

"YOU. Acting cute will be the death of me." I said. I was trying so hard to ignore him but Hanbin is just too persistent. He keeps on bugging me every time that he has a chance.

"I am really cute. Look." He said and do an aegyo which make me cringe in disgust. I picked up my water bottle and threw at him. It landed on his head which made him winced in pain. I let out a soft smirk as I see him holding his head. Victory.

"What's going on here?"

"Yah! Sehun! That girl threw her bottle at me!" Hanbin yelled. Sehun just chuckled at Hanbin's childish act and sat beside me.

"Yo, Sehoe." I greeted him. I heard him scoffed at the nickname which made me giggled a bit.

"When will you stop calling me that?" He asked.

"When you stop playing with every woman's feelings, Sehoe." I replied, emphasizing the nickname. I gasped when Sehun grabbed me by the arm and turn to him forcefully.

"Go out with me then." Sehun said while staring at me with those dreamy eyes of him. Now I know why those girls been crazy about him. I took my time to scan his features. He has those eyes that makes you feel that you're in a different world. His nose is high and pointed. His lips looks small but it matches the other feature of him. I admit, those girls never lie when they say that his face looks like been crafted by God.

"You know what, you're handsome." I said and I saw his lips slowly formed a smile.

"But you're in bad luck." I continued which made him furrowed his eyebrows.

"I'm gay idiot." I finished and flick his forehead resulting for him to let go of me and rub the center of his forehead that been slowly turning red. Maybe my flick was too strong? Anyway, he deserves that.

"I can make you straight." Sehun turned to me and confidently said.

"I'm not that type who will fall for your tricks, Sehoe." I said and send him a soft smile.

"I'm serious though." He replied and pouted his lips.

"Yah! I'm still here." Hanbin said which made me turn to him.

"Right. Why are you still here anyway?" I said coldly.

"Come on Lisa. Help me with your best friend." Hanbin said straightly. I tried my best not to grit my teeth.

"No." I answered. I saw Sehun stood up and walk towards at the other side of the room. Maybe he saw another target. This Casanova is unbelievable.

"Please?" Hanbin once again did that annoying aegyo of him. I raised my hand and act like I'm going to hit him. He's quick enough to use his arms as a shield.

"Lisa!"

I feel my body froze when I heard a voice which I wouldn't be mistake who is the owner. I slowly turn my head towards the entrance of the studio and there, I saw Jennie. She's waving at me while wearing that gummy smile of hers which never failed to make my heart flutter.

Standing behind her was no other than, Chaesoo. I decided to call them that because it seems like they've been spending a lot of times together. I wonder what the real score between them. I mean, I'm not dumb to notice their sweet gestures to each other but maybe it's just normal for them like what Jennie always do to me.

"Wow." I heard Hanbin said which made me swiftly turn to him. I saw Hanbin staring right where my Jennie is, I mean, where Jennie is.

I saw the admiration and sincerity at his eyes. I glanced back at Jennie and saw her staring at me with those confused eyes of her. Maybe she's wondering why I'm not running towards her. Usually, whenever she's calling me, I always hurry my way to her but now, my legs doesn't seem to feel like working.

I glanced back at Hanbin and he's still staring at Jennie.

"Yah." I said which made him turn his attention to me.

"You want her number right?" I said. He just nodded in reply.

"Then go and get by yourself." I said.

"What?" Hanbin replied with wide eyes.

"Be a man and ask her number. Go!" I lastly said and kick his legs. I saw his eyes twinkle and his lips turned up forming a wide smile. He then stood up quickly and rush towards Jennie. I looked back at Jennie and saw her eyes widened and been frozen at her place when he saw her crush rushing towards her.

I caught Seulgi staring at me with furrowed eyebrows. She must be watching us the whole time. I sighed in defeat and lowered my head. I grabbed my hair out of frustration.

"Fuck. What did I just do?" I muttered to myself softly.

"You just pushed the person you like to someone else dumbass." I lifted up my head and saw Seulgi sitting right beside me. She flick my forehead making me to hiss in pain. If Seulgi wasn't the captain, and if I just didn't respect her, I wouldn't definitely threw a punch in her face right now.

"Now look at your wonderful creation." She said which made me turn my gaze towards the entrance.

I automatically clenched my fist as I saw the hurtful sight. I can feel the pain slowly eating my heart. Jennie and Hanbin are talking to each other while exchanging smiles. Jennie's eyes never been this alive. Not even when she's talking to me.

"Okay, back to practice everyone!" I heard Seulgi said but I didn't dare to move an inch.

I saw Hanbin waved goodbye to Jennie and rushed back inside. Jennie sent her most beautiful gummy smile to the latter. I held my chest, my heart seems like want to bust out right now.

Jennie looked back at me and mouthed a "thank you". I have no choice but to smile at her even if I'm totally hurting right now. I looked away from her, I might not hide my true feeling any longer if I kept on staring at her.

"That's all for now. The competition will be three days from now so make sure that you would rest enough okay? Take care guys." Seulgi said and dismissed us.

I saw Jennie waiting at the entrance. At first, I assumed that she's waiting for me because it's been our constant routine. She will wait for me to finish practicing and I'll walk her home. But seeing where her eyes fixed, I knew she wasn't waiting for me.

After a few minutes, I saw Hanbin rushing towards her. I sighed in frustration and went back on putting my things inside my bag. When I'm done and was about to walk away, a strong slender arm suddenly wrapped around my shoulder.

"What do you want Sehoe?" I said, not minding his arm. Sehun's been like this to everyone who is close to him. And we've grew close since I joined the crew so his clinginess is something that I don't mind. It looks like I just get used to it as the day goes by.

"Looks like your best friend is occupied." He said while looking at Jennie and Hanbin. I wonder why they're not leaving yet.

"Yeah right." I replied.

"So, can I walk you home instead? I'll treat you something you want if you'd like."

"Is this one of your ways to get in a girl's pants?" I said teasingly.

"Yah! I'm being sincere right now. And I'm not like that. It's not my fault that the ladies went crazy over me even if I'm not doing anything." He replied and even winked at me.

"Whatever." I said and playfully rolled my eyes.

"So, what's your answer?" Sehun asked.

No doubt Jennie would want to go with Hanbin today, I might as well go with Sehun instead of sulking and blaming myself for making the dumbest decision ever.

"Oka-"

"No. Lisa's going home with me."

Me and Sehun flinched in surprised as we heard Jennie speak. When did she get in front of us?

"J-jennie?"

Jennie turned her gaze to me. She's wearing an expression that I can read. Her eyes slowly went down towards Sehun's arm that's still wrapped around my shoulder. I swear, her eyes grew darker and I can feel a cold aura coming from her right now.

"Let's go." Jennie said and harshly pull me away from Sehun leaving him dumbfounded. I even didn't have the chance to bid goodbye to him.

"Nini." I called her softly but she just keeps on walking away still gripping at my wrist.

"J-jen." I called her once again as I feel her grip tighten.

"Jennie! You're hurting me!" I yelled when I can't take the pain anymore. Jennie stopped her tracks and quickly loosen her grip and look at me. Her eyes were now different. It was now warmer and soft.

"Omo. I'm so sorry Lili." She said and take a look at my wrist that is so red right now.

"What's wrong with you?" I asked.

"What? I should be the one asking that." She replied.

"What?"

"Why are you talking to Sehun?"

"He's my friend. And we're crewmates."

"Really? He doesn't seem to be your friend to me."

"Wait. Where is this going?" I asked being confused of her sudden outburst.

"Sehun's been clinging his arms on you and you're telling me he's just a friend?" Jennie said. The tone of her voice is getting a little bit higher. Fortunately, there's no people around the hallway at this time.

"Why are you so mad? Did he do something to you?"

Jennie groaned in annoyance which made me more confused.

"Sehun is a playboy! You shouldn't been talking to him. H-He's just going to hurt you!" Jennie exclaimed.

"You didn't think I know that? Sehun is just a friend to me and he knows his boundaries. He's been clingy to anyone-"

"That's a lame excuse. And if I said don't talk to him, don't."

I don't get it why Jennie's acting like this. And what's with that bossy attitude? She can talk to anyone she want and I'm not? What the fuck.

"What?" I asked coldly.

"You heard what I said Lisa." Jennie replied.

"Really Jennie? You can talk to anyone you want but I can't? Why are you so unfair?" I said. This time, I was the one who's been raising the tone of my voice. I don't know but I'm getting annoyed right now.

"I-I was just trying to protect you. I don't want you to get hurt." She replied.

You're already hurting me, dumbass.

"Protect me? From what? From who? From Sehun because he's a play boy, from Nayeon who is getting to your nerves because she's gay? You don't want to protect me Jennie, you want this for yourself. For your satisfaction." I said not minding if my words would hurt her right now, I'm being hurt here too, a lot.

"No. That's not what it is Lisa."

"Then why does it seems like you're controlling my life?!" I yelled.

Silence fill the atmosphere. I was panting and Jennie was just staring at me with surprised eyes. I don't know what's gotten into me. I don't know why I yelled at her like that.

Maybe I was just caught up with the emotions that I felt earlier that's why I'm acting crazy right now. It's wrong to suddenly burst Jennie like that but I can't do anything about it. I can't even control myself.

"Sorry." I whispered and walk away. I heard Jennie calling my name but I didn't bother to turn around. I might tell her what I really feel if I looked back.
