Chapter 22

Third Person's POV

Jennie woke up by the sun rays hitting her gorgeous face. Her eyes are still closed, trying to continue her sleep but with someone left the curtain open, she clearly knew that she can't go back to dreamland. She stretched both of her arms and shifted to the other side. She reached at the other side of the bed and was surprised when she held something strange.

Jennie open her eyes slowly and saw a beautiful creature sleeping right beside her. Her eyes went down when she felt something heavy right on her tummy. It was Lisa's arm, wrapped around her waist.

Lisa groaned which made Jennie to shut her eyes closed quickly. She don't know why but she felt afraid of getting caught.

When the feline was sure that her Lili was still asleep, she opened her eyes and took her time to stare at her best friend's pretty face. Jennie smiled unconsciously when she saw how Lisa's mouth are slightly parted. The ray of the sun hitting her face makes her look more beautiful.

"You know that it's rude to stare, Nini." Lisa said which made Jennie almost jump.

Even if Lisa's eyes are closed, she knew that Jennie was staring at her. She can feel her hot breathe right on her lips. Lisa don't want to scare Jennie but fighting the urge to tease this beautiful feline is hard. She opened her eyes slowly and laugh at Jennie's surprised reaction.

"I-I'm not s-staring!" Jennie denied and push Lisa making the latter to fall down from the bed.

"Ouch. You did it again." Lisa said while rubbing her butt.

"That's what you get for teasing me." Jennie replied.

Her gaze suddenly glued at the empty bed in front of her. There were four beds in this room. Jisoo and Rosѐ are occupying the two. She furrowed her eyebrows as she wondered why did Lisa slept right beside her.

"Lili, how come you slept beside me and not in your bed?" Jennie wondered.

"You might want to ask your drunk self." Lisa said as she was struggling to stand up.

"What?"

"You can't remember a thing aren't you?" Lisa narrowed her eyes on Jennie and the latter just shook her head. Lisa leaned closer to Jennie and stare straightly at her cat-like eyes.

"You were so drunk and ask me to sleep with you."

"I did?!"

"Yes Nini. You even stopped me from going back there."

Jennie massage her temples trying to remember what happened last night. All she can remember was Sehun kissing Lisa's forehead. And that thought made her burn in anger.

"Good morning!" Jisoo said with a loud voice and stretched her arms but her stretching interrupted when a pillow landed right at her face.

"You're too loud!" Rosѐ said angrily.

"It's morning chipmunk! Time to wake up!" Jisoo said and jump at Rosѐ's bed. Rosѐ groaned angrily and try to hit Jisoo but the latter quickly went to Jennie and hide behind her.

"Jendukie! Save me from the angry chipmunk!" Jisoo said.

"J-jendukie?" Jennie was confused by her sudden nickname.

"Yup. That's my nickname for you. I noticed how clingy you are that's why I gave you that nickname." Jisoo said and stand up proudly while putting her hands on her hips. Jisoo quickly fell down when another flying pillow hit her again.

Rosѐ run towards the balcony and spread her arms feeling the morning breeze touching her skin. She shouted a "good morning" at the top of her lungs.

"Look who's loud now." Jisoo said and stare at Rosѐ's back full of disbelief.

"It's your fault, you wake her up." Lisa said and help Jisoo up.

"Let's go swimming!" Rosѐ excitedly said.

"You guys go first, I'm not in the mood yet for a swim." Lisa said and rummage through her things.

"Bummer." Rosѐ said.

Lisa took her camera and went outside. It's not that she don't want to swim, it's just that she wants to capture photos first. Photography was her hobby aside from dancing.

She took pictures of her friends happily bonding with each other. She then took pictures of Seulgi and Irene who are currently preparing some foods. Lisa spotted Momo sitting at the shore, enjoying the bright sun and the cool breeze, and of course, she captured it too. Lisa turned around to finally capture the beautiful view but instead of the sea, there was Jennie.

A beautiful view indeed.

"What are you doing?" Jennie asked. She's been eyeing her best friend for a while.

"Taking some pictures. Want to see my work?" Lisa offered. Jennie quickly leaned closer to Lisa making the latter's heart skipped a bit. She gave her camera to Jennie, her hands were trembling but she managed to hide it.

"Wow. I didn't know you were into photography!" Jennie squealed as she scan Lisa's works.

"You didn't ask."

"Yeah right. But no kidding, your pictures are so great!" Jennie complimented Lisa making the latter a blushing mess.

"Here. Take a photo of me." Jennie said and returned the camera to Lisa.

"W-what?"

"Why? You're taking photos of them and you don't want to take photos of me? Thought you were my best friend." Jennie said in a low voice.

"Of course I'll take photos of you." Lisa said and get her camera from the feline.

Jennie closed her eyes and tilted her head up slightly, enjoying the cool wind hitting her face. Lisa captured the gorgeous view right in front of her.

"Okay, now look at the camera Nini." Lisa instructed her.

Jennie slowly looked at the camera, making Lisa lose her focus. Jennie's staring at the camera with full of adoration. Lisa felt her heart thumping so fast. Her eyes trembled as she was struggling to click the button.

"Jen!" Hanbin yelled behind Lisa, getting the attention of the both girls. Now Lisa understand why Jennie's eyes were like that.

"I'll check that later Lili, okay?" Jennie said before running towards the man who called her.

Lisa let out a defeated sigh. She almost thought that she was the reason why Jennie's eyes twinkle. Her illusion shattered into pieces when she heard Hanbin calling her. The homophobic side of Jennie almost slipped through her mind. Lisa scoffed at that thought and check Jennie's last photo at her camera.

"This is bad." She muttered to herself.

"Nah. You got skills, there's nothing bad about that photo." Sehun said giving Lisa a mini heart attack.

"What the fuck?! Why do you always keep popping like that? You're scaring the shit out of me." Lisa said and held her chest tightly. She took some few deep breathe to calm herself.

"I was here the moment you start taking photos of Jennie. You're just too indulge by her beauty that's why you didn't notice my presence." Sehun said. Lisa ignored him and went back on checking Jennie's photograph.

"What's so bad with that photo?" Sehun asked.

"Nothing."

"Then what are you talking earlier?"

Lisa lifted her head and look at Sehun who is full of confusion.

"I think, I don't like Jennie."

"What?!" Sehun says. Lisa diverted her gaze towards Jennie's direction and look her with eyes mixed of sadness and adore.

"I'm in love with her."

Sehun was surprised on what Lisa said. He look at her in pity. Lisa's feelings to Jennie grew deeper so fast and by the mean of that, it can also be the reason to fall deeper into the pit of pain.

"That's really bad." Sehun said.

"Yeah. What's worse than falling in love with your best friend?"

"Falling in love with someone that you know you can't have."

Lisa looks back at Sehun. Pain is visible in her eyes. She knew Sehun was right. She can't have Jennie, even if she wanted to. Sehun smiled sadly towards the latter. He's been there once, he can totally feel what she's feeling right now.

"Okay, how about some drinks? This is too dramatic." Sehun said trying to lift up the mood. Lisa laugh a bit and nodded. Sehun wrapped her arms around Lisa's shoulder and drag her back inside.

Lisa spent her whole day with Sehun until the night has come. Jennie was with Hanbin the whole time, that's why she can't go anywhere near them without feeling any pain. Fortunately, Sehun didn't leave her side. Even though he keeps on flirting and throwing corny joke to her, she found the guy as a distraction, a helpful distraction indeed.

Sehun didn't mind it at all. True, that he likes the blonde. He was mesmerized by her beauty during the audition but has not guts to say hi at all. When Lisa got accepted, he swear to himself that he will do anything just to talk to her.

Being named as a Casanova was hard for him, but it's not like he sleeps with different girls each night. It's just that girls are completely dying over him and he just don't want to be rude so as much as possible, he tries to be friendly with each of them.

When Sehun saw how Lisa stares at Jennie one time during their practice, he knew that even when he's not starting, he's already defeated. That was the time when Hanbin first talk to Jennie. He was watching Lisa from the other end of the room and saw longingness in the eyes of the blonde. Right then, he knew that Lisa has a special feeling for the feline, and he can't do anything about it. Being Lisa's friend was enough for him, his pretty sure that him liking the blonde will be over soon.

Hearing Irene shouted that the food are ready, all of them stopped playing in the water and run towards the shore. It's dinner time already, they spent a lot of time in swimming and their appetite are already screaming. Rosѐ was the first one to reach and grab a plate, this girl will do anything for food. Sehun, being a gentleman, grabbed a towel and gave it to Lisa which she gladly accepted and mouthed a thank you.

Lisa's eyes roamed around, finding someone. She scanned every place and her eyebrows furrowed when she realized that the one she's finding wasn't yet here.

"Where's Jennie?" She asked.

"Here!"

Hearing Jennie's voice made Lisa to turn to her direction with a wide smile, but that smile slowly turns into a frown when she saw how Hanbin held Jennie for support. The sand give the kitten a hard time walking and seeing how her crush held her, her eyes can't help but to twinkle.

Sehun saw the blonde's mood suddenly dropped. He went towards her and gave the food that he's holding.

"Just eat. And don't mind them." Sehun said.

"Do I have any choice?" Lisa said.

Hearing Jennie's laugh and knowing that she's not the reason give Lisa a hard time suppressing her jealousy. If they're just living in another world, where Jennie is not a homophobic, she might not let that guy do the things to her that she was supposed to do.

"Guys, listen, I have an announcement." Hanbin said and stood up gaining everybody's attention.

Lisa suddenly felt scared at Hanbin's sudden announcement. Her eyes flicker back and forth from Jennie and Hanbin who are now exchanging knowing smiles. She clenched her fist tightly, preparing herself on what she would hear.

"I'm now dating Jennie."

Hearing those words sent Lisa's heart into shatters. Her eyes were brimming in tears, she looked away from Jennie who is giving her sweetest gummy smile to her lover.

"But it's not official yet." Jennie said.

"What? So it means I'm not yet your boyfriend?"

"Yes. Court me first idiot." Jennie said and stick out her tongue.

Lisa can't take the scene anymore. She stand up and took a can of beer.

"Lili? Where are you going?" Jennie said when she noticed her friend leaving.

"I'm going for a walk. Congratulations by the way." Lisa said and hurriedly left the scene. Tears are almost brimming in tears. It was just her luck that when Jennie notice her, she was already a few meters away.

Sehun saw how Lisa reacted and he's worried about the girl. He was about to follow Lisa but then Rosѐ held his arm.

"I'll go with her." She said.

Sehun nodded and went back to his seat. Rosѐ has been eyeing her best buddy for a while. Lisa's been quietly odd ever since Jennie and Hanbin came and it's making her worry.

Lisa walk as fast as she could, hurrying to escape from the hurtful scene. When she was sure that she was far away from them, she stopped and fell down on her knees. Seems like she lose all of her strength and her heart is aching. She sat properly and opened the can of beer and stare at the calm sea.

"Hey." Rosѐ said.

"What are you doing here chipmunk?" Lisa said not sparing a single glance to the red-haired girl.

"Thought you need some company." Rosѐ replied before taking a sit beside Lisa.

The blonde girl just hummed in response. She has no strength to talk to. She just continued sipping her beer while her mind was busy wandering off. Rosѐ just sit there silently, waiting for her best buddy to open up.

"Chaeyoung-ah." Lisa said in a low, serious voice. Rosѐ looked at Lisa, she was surprised. Lisa never called her by her real name.

"I'm going to tell you something. But please don't hate me." Lisa added.

"Why would I hate you?"

"Because I'm different. I am gay."

"I know."

"You did?" Lisa looked at Rosѐ. The latter just nodded in response.

"How?" Lisa asked.

"You're too obvious monkey. And I'm sure, you're here because of Jennie right?"

Lisa just hummed and took a sip on her beer. She even offered it to the girl beside her but Rosѐ refused.

"You like her." Rosѐ said.

"No. I don't."

"Then, why are-"

"I love her." Lisa said looking Rosѐ straight into the eye. Rosѐ mouthed and "oh", she didn't expect that Lisa's feelings for Jennie was this deep already. Lisa went back on staring at the sea, leaving Rosѐ gazing her with pitiful eyes. She felt bad for her. She can't imagine how much pain she's going through right now.

"Why of all the people, why her? I mean, there's Sehun and Nayeon. Why can't I just fall in love with them? Why it has to be Jennie?" Lisa complained.

"That's how it works. We can't dictate our heart." Rosѐ replied.

"I just don't want to lose Jennie. What if she finds out? I don't think I can hide the pain much longer. Especially now, she's dating Hanbin."

"They're not yet official."

"But they're going to be soon. What am I going to do Chaeyoung-ah?"

"Honestly Lis, I don't know. Your situation is very complicated as of now. But whenever you need someone to cry on, I'm always be here remember that." Rosѐ said sweetly. Lisa smiled hearing those sweet words from her.

"Thank you." She said.

Rosѐ smiled back at her and wrapped her arms around her shoulders. Lisa leaned her head at the Rosѐ's shoulder. Both of them fell silent, only the sound of crashing waves can be heard. No one wants to talk. Lisa was thankful that Rosѐ followed her. It's a good thing to have some company at times like this. Rosѐ on the other hand was hoping that everything will be good as soon as possible. She can't do anything but to stay by her side.
