Chapter 26

HOMOPHOBIC (JENLISA)

Third Person's POV

"Mom, how long would you keep packing up your things?" Lisa asked irritated. Her mom was taking quite too long on packing up her things which made Lisa uneasy. She was worried that they might miss their flight.

"You need to calm down dear. Let your mom do her thing. Remember, she's a girl." Mr. Manoban console her daughter.

"But what if we miss the plane? And why Mom is packing so many things?" Lisa asked. Some of their clothes, bags and accessories were left in Thailand. They didn't bother to bring those when they flew here in Korea.

"It's still early my dear daughter. Can you please be quiet? And these are some goods from here. Your grandfather wants me to bring some as a gift." Her mom explained.

Lisa was about to complain once again when the doorbell rang. Here heart jumped in excitement knowing who might that be. She quickly run towards the door and composed herself before opening it.

Lisa's heart stopped beating for a moment when she saw the beauty of her best friend. Seems like the lights blinded her because Jennie's aura was so bright even if the girl was just wearing a simple stripe shirt and a maong pants. Jennie surely knew how to make a simple clothes, elegant.

"H-Hi." Lisa greeted. She can't stop herself from stuttering. Well, who wouldn't stutter if there is such a gorgeous girl showed up at your front door?

"Hey. Am I late? I was having a hard time packing earlier." Jennie said.

"No you're not. Mom's having the same problem too." Lisa replied. They heard footsteps heading downstairs meaning that Lisa's mother was finally doing her thing.

"Oh, hi Jennie. Are you ready to go?" Mrs. Manoban asked.

"Yes ma'am." Jennie said politely.

A honk of a car grabbed their attention. It was their ride to the airport. Lisa's Dad asked some of his employees to pick them up since both of their drivers which was Lisa and herd Dad, was not in the mood for a drive. Well, that's clearly just an excuse. They're just feeling lazy, like father, like daughter indeed.

Jennie gasped in surprise which earned Lisa's attention.

"Why? Is there something wrong? Did you forget something?" Lisa asked worriedly.

"No. I'm fine. It's just that we're both wearing stripes. Matching outfits, cute." Jennie muttered and smiled at her before entering the car.

"We look like a couple. Oh God. I need to stop being delusional." Lisa scolded herself and followed Jennie.

--

They arrived at the airport thirty minutes before the boarding. Lisa found Jennie having a hard time bringing her bags so she decided to help her. Jennie's heart fluttered at her best friend's sweet reaction but she thinks that it was just because she's touched by her sweetness.

When they already got inside the airplane, Lisa saw how Jennie was having a hard time to but her bag inside the overhead bin. Lisa can't help to smile seeing how the feline tiptoed as she tried to reach the bin. Jennie saw her best friend watching her suffer.

"Aren't you going to help me?" Jennie glared at Lisa which made the blonde laugh a bit before walking closer towards her. Lisa took the bag off from Jennie's hand and smoothly push it inside and close the lid of the cabin.

"It sucks being a small bean?" Lisa said as she leaned closer to the feline. Jennie narrowed her eyes towards the blonde and flick her forehead causing the latter to hiss in pain.

Jennie was occupying the window seat while Lisa was sitting beside her. Lisa's parents was sitting in front of them. The plane was about to take off and Lisa fix herself to sat in a comfortable position. She then diverted her gaze towards the girl beside her and saw how Jennie tremble.

"Nini, are you okay?" Lisa asked worriedly. Jennie faced her for a while and smiled to her weakly.

"Do you want to switch seats with me?" Lisa asked again.

"N-no. I-I'm fine. I will be fine." Jennie said and closed her eyes and take a deep breathe.

Lisa reach out her hand towards the feline which made Jennie confused. She look at Lisa with a questioning look but the blonde just smiled and took her hand. Lisa intertwine her hand with Jennie, she don't know where she got some courage to do such bold move. All she want is for Jennie to calm down, that's why she ignored all of her fears and took the risk. Lucky for her, Jennie can't feel the way her hand is shaking.

"Better?" Lisa smiled and asked Jennie. The latter just hummed in response and rest her head at Lisa's shoulder.

--

"Nini. Wake up. We're here already." Lisa said as she tap lightly the chubby cheeks of her best friend.

Jennie groaned and stretch her arms for a while. She took a glance at the window and saw that the plane has landed already, it means they're already in Thailand. Her whole system was engulfed by excitement.

Outside the airport, there was a car waiting for them. Jennie's eyes widened when she saw how fancy their service is. She never thought that she could really ride one of these in real life. She was just seeing this on some of Korean Dramas but now, it was right in front of her.

"Where are your parents?" Jennie asked when she noticed that Lisa's parents disappeared from their sight.

"They were riding the other car." Lisa said and opened the door for Jennie.

Jennie entered the car speechless. She started to wonder how rich her best friend is. Lisa is not the show off type so it's hard to recognize what her social status is unless you saw how fancy their car is.

"How rich are you?" Jennie asked Lisa.

"I told you I-"

"You're not rich but your grandfather is. I know."

"Exactly." Lisa said and diverted her attention to the window.

"But how known your family is?" Jennie asked Lisa. Lisa faced the feline and smile at her. What a curious kitten.

"Our family is known for owning the most famous restaurant in Asia."

"What?! So am I friends with a billionaire?!"

Lisa's cheeks blushed in embarrassment. The reason why Lisa don't want to tell anyone about her family is because she's afraid that they might just want to be friends with her because of the money. Jennie was the second person who knew about Lisa's big secret. Her childhood best friend was the first one.

"S-stop." Lisa said as Jennie keeps on teasing her.

Jennie diverted her attention towards the window and she can't help but to be amazed how amazing Thailand is. Her eyes dilated as she kept on gawking at everything.

"Want to have a tour?" Lisa asked. Jennie faced her and nodded excitedly which made Lisa's heart melt.

"Okay. Tomorrow we will go for a da- tour." Lisa almost choke on what she was about to say. She was to indulge on the thought of spending time with her best friend alone that's why she started to think that everything that they might do will be a date.

--

They arrive at the house where they will stay for the rest of their vacation but for Jennie, it's not just a house. It's a mansion! Once again, her eyes dilated at the luxury that was in front of her. Lisa saw her best friend gawking again which made her shook her head and pull the feline inside.

When they entered the house, an old man was waiting for them at the living room. Jennie was intimidated by the old man's aura and it made her nervous.

"Grandpa!" Lisa yelled and run towards the old man and quickly hug him. The old man laugh at her granddaughter's reaction. Jennie find that scene heart-warming.

"Did my favorite granddaughter miss me?"

"I'm your only granddaughter. Don't be ridiculous. And of course I miss you so much!" Lisa said and hug her grandfather tightly before pulling away.

The old man's attention was caught by the feline whose hand is shaking. Jennie put her hand at her back to hide it from the old man. He saw what the feline did and let out a smirk before walking towards her.

"So, who is this beautiful young lady?"

"Grandpa, this is Jennie, my best friend." Lisa said. Jennie bowed as a sign of respect.

"It's nice to meet you-"Jennie paused for a bit and smiled awkwardly. She don't know how to address the old man. Lisa's grandfather laughed at Jennie's nervous antics.

"You can call me grandpa. And there's no need to be nervous my dear, I don't bite." He said and smiled at the feline sweetly. Jennie suddenly felt relieved by seeing that genuine smile of the old man.

"Yes, Grandpa." Jennie replied. The old man and faced Lisa.

"You're not only granddaughter anymore." He said and wink at the blonde. Lisa acted like she was disappointed but then burst out in laughter within a few seconds. He instructed Lisa to send Jennie towards to her room so that they can rest for a while before having dinner.

Lisa took the bag that Jennie's been holding and went upstairs.

"Where's your room?" Jennie asked when they stopped at the front of a certain room. Lisa pointed at the room across her.

"If you need anything, just knock okay?" Lisa said and gave Jennie her bag. Jennie nodded and went inside her room.

When Lisa entered her room, she hurriedly flopped herself towards her bed. She put her hand above her chest and felt her heartbeat.

"Damn. My heart beating so fast." She muttered to herself.

She look at her hand, the one that held Jennie's hand. The softness of the feline's hand still lingers on her. Lisa can't stop smiling like a crazy person. Well, she is indeed crazy. Crazy for someone who doesn't feel the same way to her.

--

A knock woke up Lisa from her sweet nap, she hurriedly went towards the door thinking that it might be Jennie. But instead, it was one of their maids asking her to come down to have dinner.

"Did you already informed Jennie?" Lisa asked. The maid shook her head and said that she was just about to inform her but Lisa insisted that she would do it instead.

"Come in!" Jennie yelled when she heard someone knocking. Lisa peek at the door slowly and saw Jennie was talking to someone on her phone.

"Hey Lili." Jennie greeted.

"Hey. Dinner's ready. Let's go?"

"Just a minute. I'll just say goodbye to Hanbin."

Lisa's smile slowly dropped, she almost forgot that Hanbin has Jennie's heart. She closed the door and went to the dining room in a gloomy mood. She let out a defeated sigh before taking a seat.

"Where's Jennie?" Her dad asked.

"Upstairs. She's on the phone." Lisa replied lazily. Her grandfather notice something odd about her.

"Is Jennie really just your best friend?" Her grandfather asked. Lisa faced him with surprised eyes.

"Yes grandpa, why?" Lisa said and took a drink.

"What a shame. I thought she was your girlfriend, you two look good together."

Lisa almost choked when she heard what her grandfather said. She eyed her parents nervously.

"It's okay dear. We already noticed that you're different." Her mom said.

"And it's fine with us as long as you're happy." Her dad added. Lisa was touched on what her parents said. She was glad that they accepted her for who she is. A part of her hopes that Jennie would do same when she finally has the courage to say everything to her.
