#13 And when the hell did that happen?

I woke to my alarm blaring in my room. It was finally the day of the game. I completed my morning routine and rushed downstairs for breakfast. I saw packed and ready suitcases kept near the front door.

My Mom was going for a trip to London to visit Dad for a week.

"Good morning Nessa. I couldn't make breakfast today as I am in a bit of hurry. Would you mind buying something for you and your brother?" My mom asked, as soon as she saw me.

"Obviously mom. Don't worry. Just have a safe trip and enjoy yourself." I smiled and kissed her cheek.

"Thanks honey!" She hurried outside, where the cab was waiting for her.

"Bye Nessa! Please wake your brother otherwise he'll sleep the whole day. Bye!" She chuckled.

"Bye Mom." I waved at her as the cab drove off.

I went upstairs.

"Wake up brother! You didn't even bid mom goodbye. Wake up now." I shouted as I crossed Ethan's room. I changed into my denim shirt and a navy blue jeans, picked up my school bag and headed to see whether Ethan had woken up.

I was going to knock his door but decided against it and barged inside his room to see him still sleeping.

"Wake up Ethan!" I shouted near his ear. His eyes shot open and he unconsciously slapped me.

"Ouch! That hurt, you Idiot!"

"That's what you get for waking me up like this." He glared at me.

"Oh. So do you prefer a bucket of ice over your head!?! Next time I'll take your preferences under my consideration." I sarcastically smiled at him. "You didn't even bid mom goodbye!"

"She left already!?!" He asked.

"She is not a sleepy head like you." I rolled my eyes.

"Hey-" Ethan was about to protest when the doorbell rang.

"I'll go get it. Till that time, you should be ready. We have go get breakfast. I am not good when I'm hungry." I glared at him and exited the room.

I opened the front door to reveal Ash standing in the doorway.

"Breakfast?" He asked holding up a bag.

"Obviously! You are a life saver. Come on in." I grinned and led him towards the dinning room.

"You ready for today's game?" I asked him.

"You bet." He smirked. How can this guy always have some much confidence in himself?

We finished our breakfast but still Ethan had not showed up.

"Hey! You still haven't net Selena, have you?" I suddenly remembered.

"No. I planned on meeting her today, at school-" "Which you won't be attending because of practice." I reminded him.

"Riiight. I actually didn't consider that." He shrugged.

"Don't worry. We have some time before your practice. We can go and meet her. I'll call Ethan too. He'll love to visit the Klarks." I smirked but he just raised his eyebrows, clearly not understanding why.

We both go to Ethan's room and find him still lying on the bed.

"Ethan get up. I'm taking Ash to meet Selena and Shirley. You coming?" I asked him, knowing the obvious answer.

"Yep! Don't go without me!" He shouted, got up, took his clothes and went inside the washroom in five seconds. That was fast.

We all reach the Klarks, me and Ash in my car while Ethan in his. I tell Ash to hide while Ethan rang the doorbell. Selena opened the door.

"Hey Nessa! You are early today. We don't have school till 8 and it's still 7. But still. Come in!" She cheerfully said.

"Actually I came with Ethan who came to pick up Shirley." I smirked while Ethan had already gone upstairs to call Shirley.

"Okay. You had breakfast?" She asked.

"Yep. A friend brought it to my house. Mom left for London in the morning." I informed, already predicting her next response.

"Oooh! Who is this new 'friend' that I don't know about?" Selena wiggled her eyebrows.

"Actually I brought him with me to meet you. Come in." I said to Ash.

As soon as he was seen in the doorway, Selena's eyes widened and she ran to hug him.

"Ash! Where have you been? How are you? How is your mom? How is Australia? When did you come here? How many days are you staying?" She bombarded him with questions.

"Calm down, Lena. It's good to see you too. I am shifting here. So you can ask me everything slowly as we have lot of time to catch up." Ash said, kissing her forehead. "But now I have to go for practice."

"You are shifting here!?! That's amazing news! But what practice?" Selena asked him.

"Long story. But I am playing today's homecoming. So don't miss it. I know you hate soccer."

"Hey! I don't miss my best friend's game." Selena said, playfully hitting his shoulder.

"So I think you don't consider me as your best friend huh? Cause you have missed many of my games." I playfully glared at her.

"Of course you are my best friend. But the problem is you play too many games." Selena said while Ash chuckled.

"Hey! You are not supposed to laugh." I glared at Ash.

"I have to get to practice otherwise that Stefan will kill me alive. But I actually have a question. Are you dating that idiot cause I observed that he called you 'Princess'?" He narrowed his eyes at me.

"No. I am not dating that duffer. Will everyone stop thinking that I am dating someone? And I really have to stop him from calling me that." I said, clearly pissed off.

"I'll go get my bag." Selena said, raising her hands up and running inside the house, Ash was eyeing me. I looked at him.

"What!?!" I snapped. He was going to say something when Ethan and Shirley came, holding hands. As usual.

"Um...what have I missed?" Ash asked, raising his his eyebrows and looking at them.

"Oh right. Ethan and Shirley are dating." I shrugged.

"And when the hell did that happen!?!" Ash glanced at me.

"Don't look at me! Ask them." I answered him. But before they could say anything, Selena interrupted us.

"Let's get going!" She shouted through the hallway and ran outside. We had to follow.

The whole car ride Selena and Ash were talking nonstop. I was very thankful that we had reached the school otherwise my ears were about to blast.

We got out and went towards the soccer field. The whole U-17 boy's team was warming up. Ash hugged both of us and we parted our ways. We were walking through the hallway when I saw Ryan coming towards us.

"You know something. I'll catch you later." I sheepishly smiled at Selena and walked away from her while she was glaring at me.

"Hey Ryan!" I said as I passed him.

"Hey Nessa!"

"Have fun!" I smirked while he glared at me.

I was putting my books in my locker when my door was slammed closed.

"What the hell!?!" I said and turned around to see Stefan smirking at me.

"Hey Stefie!" I said, giving him a sarcastic smile and turned around to open my locker. But Stefan turned me pinned me to the locker.

"So you have a boyfriend now, huh? This is going to be fun." He smirked and started leaning to kiss me?

What's gotten into him?

And who is my boyfriend?

"Stefan stop. What's gotten into you?" I say, trying to move back but couldn't.

"What's gotten into me? I'm done acting good with you." He smirked, leaning closer. I could feel his breathe on my lips and a shiver ran through my spine. This is enough. I punch him in face and he stumbles back.

"If you are done acting good with me then I am done too." I said and turned around to open my locker. I grabbed my books and walked towards my first class.

The rest of the day was blur. The school ended after the first four periods and we all went home to come back for the game.

Currently I was sitting in the stands, between Tessa and Claire, and biting my tongue. Why?

Because the score was tied with Campbell Knights and Lakeshore Tigers both scoring two goals. Only one and half minutes were remaining and the ball was with the Campbell Knight's striker who was aiming towards Ash. He kicked the ball but the goal was blocked by Ash. Thank God.

With only half minute left now, Ash kicked the ball to Ken, who passed it to Stefan. He was running towards the the goal.

Come on Idiot.

The whole ground was silent, waiting for the final whistle. Stefan reached the half line with only 10 seconds remaining. He kicked the ball towards the goal. I closed my eyes. I couldn't see this.

Why did he have to shoot from the half line? It's impossible for it to reach the goal- my thoughts were interrupted by the final whistle and I opened my eyes to see what had happened.

After a moment the whole crowd erupted with cheers. We had won. Stefan had scored the goal. Oh. My. God. I couldn't believe that we had won.

I ran down to meet the Ash. They were all carrying Stefan on their shoulders, while he carried the trophy. I saw Ash and ran towards him and hugged him.

"We won!" He cheered, picking me up and swirling me around.

"Yeah you did!" I grinned.

"Congratulations!" Selena came and hugged Ash from behind.

"You owe me a day, Princess." I heard someone say. But I already know who it was.

I turned to see Stefan smirking at me.

"What?" I glared at him.

"I said you owe me a day, Princes-" "I heard you idiot. What do you mean?" I asked.

"Remember your challenge? I won the deal. So you owe me a day." He informed.

"What deal-" And I remembered. The deal in which if they won the game, I had to do everything what Stefan said for one day.

Great. One day of my life is going to go waste.

"Yeah. I know. I'll do it. I had agreed to it after all." I shrugged.

"You do know that I was the reason we won today." He smirked.

"Yeah so what?" I rolled my eyes.

"You are supposed congratulate me, Princess. Where are your manners?" Stefan smirked.

"Congrats." I blankly stated, turned around and started talking to Ash.

All the crowds cheers were interrupted by a announcement.

"This was a terrific game. But we have a surprise for the players. The national selectors have chosen six players from today's game to attend a national camp in Georgia, for four months. The selected members from this camp will have the privilege of being a part of America's National U19 team." The whole crowd cheered.

This was a very big opportunity. And a very important too.

"The selected names are- Jordan Maxwell, Stefan Thompson, Sam Davenport, Xander King, Nick Macford and last but not the least, Asher Davis." The whole crowd cheered. I looked at Ash, who looked stunned.

"I cannot believe it. Wow!" Ash said, as soon as I and Selena hugged him.

"Congratulations!" We both shouted. Ash still couldn't believe it.

I turned towards Stefan. "Congratulations!" I said.

"Thanks Princess. This is so awesome. This is a dream come true. I cannot believe it."

"It's true. So believe it." I stated.

"Hey! Show at least some enthusiasm for me." He chuckled.

"Why should I be enthusiastic? I haven't been selected. You have." And then it hit me. I was not going to be selected. There was no game for girls. So no selection. Therefore no chance of making the National Team. G.R.E.A.T.

"I have a pool party at my house today. To celebrate the win. You are coming to it." Stefan ordered.

"Firstly, you are not allowed to tell me what to do. Secondly, I was not invited." I angrily stated.

"The whole school is invited. So you are coming." "No-" "Yep. She will be there." I turned to Selena, smirking.

"What! No. I am not going to his stupid party. You know I hate parties." I said to Selena.

"Oh. Come on, Cupcake. It's just one night. Even I'll be there." Ash said.

"I can't leave Ethan alone at home. He'll mess the house." I told them.

"Bring that a*shole with you." Stefan glared.

"You have no right to call him that. He is way lot better that you." Stefan just glared at me. Something is seriously wrong with him today.

"Cupcake, it's just one night." And I gave up.

"Okay. I'll be there."
