Chapter 13

Danger

Destined with Fate ♡

Advika's Pov:

As Tara started the car, I glanced at the rearview mirror and saw Vivan standing there, his eyes fixed on our car. As we drove away, his figure gradually faded from view. I diverted my gaze back to the road ahead and leaned back in the seat, taking a deep breath to release the exhaustion of the day. It had been an incredibly taxing series of events, but amidst the chaos, I found an unexpected solace in his arms.

I closed my eyes briefly and remembered how Vivan had hugged me in the police station. He had been pacing in worry, and the moment he embraced me, a sudden wave of relief and peace washed over me. It was surprising, considering I barely knew him; this was our first meeting. Yet, his embrace felt so comforting, almost as if I had known him for a long time.

We reached Tara's house, and as we stepped inside, she turned to me with a serious expression. "Advika, we need to be more alert now. The police are behind us, and things could get tricky."

I nodded, still feeling the weight of the day's events. Suddenly, a memory flashed in my mind-Vivan at the police station. He had dominated the officials with such authority and confidence. The way he commanded the room, effortlessly securing my release, left no doubt in my mind that he was a powerful person.

His swift action in bailing me out almost immediately was something I couldn't overlook. Who was he, really? And why was he so willing to help me?

But I made up my mind. I had to marry Vivan. I turned to Tara, who was busy sorting through some papers.

"I've decided to marry Vivan," I announced.

Tara looked up, her eyes wide with surprise. "What? Why would you want to marry him? You barely know him, Advika. He could be an obstacle to our plans."

I shook my head, determined. "He's powerful, Tara. More powerful than anyone I've ever met. If I marry him, I can use his influence to our advantage. As his wife, I'll have access to resources and connections we could never dream of."

Tara frowned, clearly unconvinced. "But how can you be so sure he won't get in the way? What if he starts asking questions?"

"He won't," I said firmly. "If he was going to be an obstacle, he would have asked why I was arrested. But he didn't. He didn't ask anything. I think he cares for me, and that makes him an asset, not a hindrance."

Tara sighed, still skeptical. "I hope you know what you're doing, Advika."

"I do," I replied, a newfound resolve in my voice. "I have to."

With my decision firm in my mind, I wasted no time. I immediately called my uncle and aunty. As the phone rang, I felt a mix of determination and anxiety. Finally, my uncle answered.

"Hello, Uncle," I began, trying to keep my voice steady. "I've made a decision. I'm ready to marry Vivan Raichand. Please inform his family."

There was a moment of stunned silence on the other end before I heard my aunty's excited voice in the background. My uncle quickly gathered himself and responded, "Advika, this is wonderful news! We will inform the Raichands right away. They will be elated to hear this."

"Thank you," I said, feeling a strange sense of calm wash over me. "I'll be here at Tara's house if you need to reach me."

As I hung up, I saw Tara watching me with a mix of concern and curiosity. I gave her a reassuring nod, hoping to convey that I was in control of this situation. Now, all I could do was wait for the next step in this unexpected journey.

*

The next day, a pooja was arranged at my uncle and aunty's house to formally fix the alliance between Vivan and me. The house was bustling with preparations, flowers being strung, and incense filling the air with a calming fragrance.

I arrived early, feeling a mix of nerves and determination. As I stepped inside, my aunty rushed over, her face glowing with excitement. "Advika, everything is almost ready. The Raichands will be here soon."

I nodded, trying to match her enthusiasm. I could see my uncle supervising the arrangements, ensuring everything was perfect for the occasion.

Soon, the Raichands arrived, and with them, Vivan. He looked composed and confident, his presence commanding the room as usual. Our eyes met briefly, and I felt a sense of reassurance. This was the right decision.

The day had been a whirlwind, and it seemed like every moment brought something unexpected. As I stood in the living room after the pooja, my eyes drifted to Vivan, who was busy admiring me. Suddenly, someone tapped his shoulder, giving him teasing looks. Vivan shot her glares, clearly warning her not to say or do anything, but She didn't seem to care.

She came over and said hi to me. I looked at her confused, but when she introduced herself as Vivaan's sister, Sarah, I relaxed and smiled. She said to laugh with her looking at Vivaan.

My eyes drifted to where Vivan was standing, and I laughed wholeheartedly. Vivan, sensing my gaze, looked nervous and acted like someone called him, quickly leaping out of there. Sarah and I shared a laugh seeing him run off.

Later, I noticed Vivan heading inside. But when he saw Sarah and me approaching, he quickly moved toward the hall area. He probably assumed Sarah had said something embarrassing to me, and he didn't want to face me.

My uncle and aunty told everyone that everything was ready, and the priest was calling us for the pooja.

We all went to the temple area. It was a small gathering, just Vivan's family, my family, and close relatives. The party was to start in an hour or two, so the guests hadn't arrived yet.

Everyone gathered and took their places. My uncle and aunty sat in front while Vivan's parents sat behind them. Vivan was about to sit with his parents when Sarah came running and took the spot, leaving no space for him. Vivan looked around and saw there was some space near me, but it wasn't enough for him to sit properly. Sensing his dilemma, I slowly moved aside to make more space for him.

Vivan smiled at me, and feeling his gaze, I closed my eyes and joined my hands, looking forward. His chuckling sound filled my ears. I peeked at him and he was now praying silently closing his eyes and hands joined.

I slowly stood up and, without disturbing anyone, went to the garden.

I was lost in my thoughts when someone tapped on my shoulder, making me flinch back, I look back but then relaxed upon seeing him.

Suddenly, I remembered the pooja. "Is the pooja completed?" I asked.

"No, it's still going," he replied.

"So why are you here?" I asked, though I had a feeling I knew the answer.

"Because you are here," he said straightforwardly. I gasped, not expecting such a direct answer. His words made butterflies flutter in my stomach, and I felt my cheeks heat up.

I have never felt such way before.

What is he doing to me?

"Can I ask you one thing? Why are you here? I mean, why did you leave the pooja? Is there any problem?" Vivan asked calmly.

I thought for a moment and then replied, "Because I don't believe in God. They have always snatched everything from me." Vivan seemed stunned by my words. But it was true. he snatched my world from me.

I was about to walk away when he held my hand.

"I don't want to question you. Not believing in God is your choice. But always remember, whether you believe in Him or not, He is always going to be there for you," Vivan said, stepping closer.

"He may have snatched a lot of things from you, but believe me, there must be a reason for that. Never doubt Him, even in bad times." He stepped even closer, and a lone tear escaped my eye. He gently cupped my face, wiping the tear away.

"And you know what? I am His favorite person, so from now on, you are His favorite person too because you are my favorite person." I couldn't control my emotions and hugged him tightly, finding solace and peace in his arms.

His words act as a soothing balm on my bleeding heart.

We stood there, finding comfort in each other's embrace, until we heard someone clearing their throat. We looked to see Sarah standing there with a teasing smile. Embarrassed, we broke the hug, and I quickly ran away, while Vivan glared at Sarah, giving her a light slap on the back of her head before heading inside. Sarah made a crying face, rubbing her head, and followed us in.

Back in the temple, Vivan and I resumed our places, closing our eyes and joining our hands for the prayers. Sarah silently took her seat, focusing on the prayers as well.

When the prayers were done, everyone stood up for the aarti. One by one everyone came forward to perform the aarti. When it was Vivan's turn, he took the plate, and I joined him, our hands touching. I was about to pull my hand away, but Vivan held it firmly, assuring me with his eyes. Together, we performed the aarti, the elders smiling at us.

After the prayers, everyone started leaving the temple, my uncle and aunty staying behind with Vivan's parents to discuss the wedding date with the priest. Sarah, Tara, and I went inside, with Vivan and Agam following us.

As we moved, Vivan was called by some of his business associates. Though he didn't want to, he approached them, making small talk about business. I stood upstairs, watching him. He is definitely the most handsome male I have ever encountered. A man in all senses.

When our eyes met, I pretended to look at my phone, but next I saw he was coming upstairs.

Stupid Advika!

Panicking, I ran, picking up my lehanga, with him chasing after me. I quickly hid.

After a while, I thought I had lost him and stepped out from my hiding spot. Just as I was about to leave, Vivan sneaked up behind me, pulling me close by my waist. "Caught you," he whispered, making my breath hitch.

I felt weak in the knees, his touch sending shivers down my spine. His hold tightened, and he nuzzled into my neck. I gasped, completely engrossed in the moment, until his phone rang, breaking the spell.

Vivan cursed under his breath and answered the call. "Yes, Dad, I'm upstairs. Yeah, Advika is also with me. Okay, we are coming." He replied in his deep, rich voice. Enough to captivate anyone.

Taking the opportunity, I pulled away from him, but he caught my hand again."Vivan, I think we should not get close before marriage," I managed to say between uneven breaths.

I don't think I can bear all this proximity of his. He is like a intoxication.

He chuckled, stepping closer and bending toward my face. I clutched my lehanga, my eyes closing as he leaned in.

Is he going to...to kiss me?

Fuck! Advika, had some hold over yourself! You have killed people but didn't even flinch! What happened now!?

He whispered in my ear, "They are calling us downstairs. Come soon." When I opened my eyes, he had already released my hand and was smiling, smirking as he walked away.

Trying to calm my racing heart, I looked in the mirror, my cheeks flushed. I composed myself and headed downstairs. But all my confidence vanished when I saw him smirking at me. Tara approached, asking where I had been, and I gave her some excuses.

My uncle and aunty called me to stand behind Vivan. "Ladies and gentlemen, we have an announcement to make. I am happy to announce that we have found a perfect match for my niece, Advika, which is Mr. Vivan Raichand. We have decided to get them engaged on the 14th of July."

Everyone cheered while Vivan and I stood frozen. We snapped out of it when people started congratulating us. I looked at Vivan, who winked at me, making me turn away. Sarah hugged us both, but when Vivan tried to take my hand, I slapped it away and broke the hug, running off.

Next day,

As I walked into the police station with Tara, my heart was still fluttering from the events of the previous day. But the moment we stepped inside, I felt a strange sense of unease. The officer who had interrogated me was nowhere to be seen. In fact, the entire staff seemed different.

Confused, I approached the new inspector. "Excuse me, where is the interrogation Officer ?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.

The inspector looked up from his desk and gave me a firm look ,"He is not here anymore and not the old staff they all have been transferred to some other place".

I got stunned listening to that like how can it happen , what happened in a night that the whole staff got changed.

So I asked the question which is lingering on top of my tongue,"Is this is because of vivan raichand?!"

He looked at me with wide eyes and his face colour changed and thorough his eyes I can easily understand that what I am thinking is true.

He didn't answer my question and excuses himself from there telling the lady officer there to ask us our problem.

When the lady officer came I told her that I am here for doing signatures because Mr.Verma told me to come after 2 days to sign some remaining documents which were left that day.

As we went out from the police station and sat back in our car , I gave Tara smirking looks

On our way home, I couldn't help but ask Tara "Do you still have doubts about me marrying Vivaan?"

Tara chuckled, "He is truly insane for you , I mean did u look at that officer's face his face colour changed and the way he ran out from there I am damn sure he has done all this just for you."

I rolled my eyes. "Maybe, but it's still hard to believe."

But my heart swelled at the possibility that Vivaan had done this for me. I felt a mix of happiness and relief at the riddance of the troublesome officer.

Just as I was beginning to relish the thought, our car came to a sudden stop. My stomach dropped as I saw bulky men surrounding us. Panic surged through me as I realized I had forgotten to bring my gun for safety.

"What the-" Tara started, but she was cut off as one of the men grabbed her.

"Get out!" one of the men barked, pulling me roughly from the car.

"Who are you? What do you want?" I shouted, trying to struggle free.

One of the men sneered, "Keep quiet if you know what's good for you."

Fear surged through me as they blindfolded us and shoved us into another vehicle. In the chaos, I felt Tara's hand squeeze mine, offering a silent reassurance.

"Just tell us what you want!" Tara yelled at them.

"Shut up and stay quiet," another man growled.

My heart pounded in my chest as I was forced into the car. In the darkness of the blindfold, my thoughts raced back to Vivaan. I didn't even know why, but my heart yelled for him. His name echoed in my mind, a desperate plea for help.

As the vehicle sped away, Tara whispered, "Advika, are you okay?"

I tried to keep my voice steady. "I'm fine, just... try to stay calm. We'll get out of this."

I clung to the hope that somehow, Vivaan would find us. My fear was overwhelming, but so was the inexplicable yearning for his presence. As we were driven away to an unknown fate, I couldn't shake the feeling that Vivaan was our only chance.
