Fight to the death

Ethan's POV

I ran as fast as I can. I know that I'm closer to the main road, I can feel it.

Justin did say that he knew his way around this forest so hopefully he is waiting on the road already.

Hold on Justin, I'm coming.

At the moment, I felt hope and freedom. Justin and I will be free from Danny.

I quicken my pace with each step but a loud painful yell filled my ears.

I tripped over a rock as I felt my heart start to beat loudly in my chest.

"ETHAN!"

I laid my hand on a tree near by to help keep my balance.

That...that voice!

I shook my head as I turned to look back at the dark forest.

NO IT CAN'T BE!

My eyes widened as I heard the desperate yell once again.

"ETHAN!"

I quickly felt my body tense up with anger and fear.

"JUSTIN!" I yelled back through the dark forest.

There was no response. He has him.

Danny has him.

I quickly felt my feet move into action as I began to head back into the forest. I ran as fast as I can. I have to save him. He will not die! Not here, not now!

I kept on running but I soon stopped as I heard humming in the distance.

I quickly hid behind a tree and peeked my head out to the right so I could see who was walking by.

I gasped at the sight.

Justin was bleeding. Blood was flowing out from his stomach.

I could see his hand trying to press down onto the wound so he could try to stop the bleeding but from the looks of it, it wasn't working.

I looked up to see Danny. He was smiling and humming some sort of lullaby.

He was pulling Justin by the legs. He was dragging him like a dead animal.

I felt anger boil up inside me.

How dare he! I will kill him! It's the only way.

I watched Danny carefully. I was trying to find the right moment to attack.

Danny laid his back on a tree and tried to catch his breath.

I guess he was exhausted from dragging Justin.

I looked down at Justin and saw that he was still awake. But he kept on closing and opening his eyes. If I don't hurry. He will die from the loss of blood.

Danny was smiling down at Justin.

"I told you that you won't make it out alive."

He bent down and wiped away some blood from Justin's mouth.

He sighed loudly.

"Too bad that I have to kill a beautiful creature like you."

Here's my chance.

I quickly jumped into action as I swing my bat towards him and hit him directly in the jaw.

I heard a loud crack as I saw him fall to the ground.

He clenched his jaw in pain as he looked up at me with anger in his eyes.

He growled at me as he quickly lifted himself off from the ground and punched me straight in the face.

I winced in pain as I felt blood drip down my nose.

Danny quickly picked up his crossbow but he had no arrows to aim at me. He left the arrows on the ground.

I looked at him confused.

"What's wrong? Your not trying to kill me."

Danny shook his head.

"You don't deserve to die, but this psychopath does." he said as he pointed towards Justin.

"He is evil, he is a killer, I have to get rid of him."

I glared at him angrily.

"Well, I'm not going to let you."

Danny looked at me with disappointment.

"Very well, let us fight to the death!" Danny yelled as he smacked me across the face with the crossbow.

I felt blood drip down my cheek and I turned to smile at Danny.

"Is that all you got!"

I dropped the bat to the ground and ran towards him, I tackled him to the ground.

I used all my strength in order to keep him down.

I started to punch him on his face over and over again.

He struggled to break free from my hold. I wrapped my hands around his throat and pushed down tightly.

He started to panic as he tried to gasp for air.

I pushed down harder as I tried to see the life disappear from his eyes.

I finally felt his body stop struggling. As his eyes stared at me with emptiness.

I did it! He's dead.

I quickly got off of him as I stared at his lifeless body.

I looked at Danny's body in horror.

I can't believe it, I killed someone again.

But... but it felt good this time.

"Ethan...Ethan?"

I quickly turned my head to look at Justin. He was still alive, he was trying to gasp for air.

I ran towards him and fell onto my knees. I took off my shirt and used it to help stop the bleeding. I pressed it down on the wound.

I used my other free hand to pull up Justin's head so I could try to keep him awake.

Justin stared at me with tear filled eyes.

"I didn't think that you would of came back to help me."

I felt the tears drip down my cheek.

"I would never leave you and don't worry I'm going to bring you to the hospital, you will survive Justin."

Justin was about to say something when I saw his eyes widen with fear.

"YOU WILL NOT WIN!" Danny yelled from behind me as he pushed me away from Justin and pierced a knife through Justin's chest.

I watched in horror as I saw Justin cry out in pain.

I turned to look at Danny with full rage.

"I THOUGHT I KILLED YOU!" I yelled as I ran towards him.

I knocked him to the ground as I picked up a heavy rock. I pulled it up over my head with all my strength.

Danny smiled up at me with bloody teeth.

"It's done, he's dead."

"YOU MOTHER FUCKER!" I yelled out in anger as I threw the rock onto his head.

His blood sprayed over my face. As the rock smashed his brain.

I stood there, breathing heavily as I watched Danny's blood seep down into the dirt.

"Go to hell!" I said as I spit at his lifeless body.

I turned my attention towards Justin.

I quickly ran to his side.

He started to choke on his own blood.

"Ethan...I..I love you." He said as his eyes started to close shut.

I shook my head.

"No no no! Please wake up! PLEASE DON'T DIE!" I screamed out in pain as I felt tears stream down my cheek.

I laid a kiss on his lips as my tears dripped onto his face.

"I love you too..." I said softly.

I moved away from his lips as I heard police and ambulance sirens in the distance.

I still have a chance to save him.

I quickly picked him up and carried him tightly in my arms.

"Don't worry Justin, you will live." I said as I started to head towards the main road.
