Chapter 1704
When His Eyes Opened
âYour mother doesnât seem to use her mobile phone now. Iâll call your Uncle Mike, and he will tell your
mother.â Wesley picked up the phone and spoke to the two children.
A flash of disappointment flashed in Laylaâs eyes.
Wesley dialed Mikeâs number and told him about Tammyâs childbirth.
Mike said, âOh, Iâll tell her tomorrow. Sheâs probably asleep by now.â
Wesley: âWell. Layla and Robert are by my side, do you want to talk to Layla?â
âYes. Letâs make a video call.â Mike finished and hung up the phone.
Within five seconds, Mikeâs video call came.
Wesley took the video call and handed the phone to Layla.
Layla looked at Mikeâs smiling face in the video call, her mouth pouted to the sky.
âWhereâs my mom?â Layla asked, frowning.
Mike: âYour mother is sleeping.â
âI donât believe it. My mother must be missing. Otherwise, why would she not contact me? Go to my
motherâs room, I want to see if my mother is really sleeping.â Layla said to Mike made this request.
Mike hesitated for two seconds, then took the mobile phone and walked towards Averyâs room.
He pushed the door open a little, set the camera to the rear, and let Layla look at the big bed in the
master bedroom.
Avery was really lying on the bed. Itâs just that the room was very dark, and Layla couldnât see her
motherâs facial features clearly, only saw vaguely familiar outlines.
When Layla recognized her mother, she lost control of her emotions.
âWoohoo!â Laylaâs cry came and Mike immediately closed the door, afraid of waking Avery.
âLayla, donât cry. Doesnât your brother often make video calls for you?â Mike looked at Laylaâs crying
wrinkled face, and it was a lie to say that he was not distressed.
If Avery heard her daughterâs cry, she might be impulsive and go back to Aryadelle immediately.
During the day, Mike took her to the hospital to have her eyes checked.
The doctor asked her if Avery had cried because her recovery was not very good.
She pursed her lips and said nothing.
âMy brother doesnât make me video calls too often! The last time he made me a video call was last
monthâ¦â Layla thought for a while, and cried until she burst into tears.
Robert stood beside Layla, hugging her sisterâs legs tightly with both hands, trying to comfort her, but he
didnât know how.
Mike had a headache, and then said: âItâs only the beginning of July, and itâs not a few days until last
month!â
âYou go and wake up my mother now and let her talk to me.â Laylaâs eyes were flushed, and she said
and gave an order to Mike.
âLayla, I canât wake your mom. She didnât take a nap today. She was more emotional than you after the
divorce from your dad. Sheâs always crying secretly. If she sees you, sheâll cry like crazy again.â Mike
explained to Layla.
Layla suddenly softened. She didnât want her mother to cry.
âUncle Wesley said that my mom will come to me at the end of the year, is it true?â Layla stopped crying.
Mike coaxed Layla, âItâs hard to say, but itâs possible. Layla, you have to be obedient, we will go back to
you and Robert when we have a chance.â
âOhâ¦â Layla looked down. When she got to Robert. She immediately squatted down, hugged Robert
and looked at the camera together.
Robert thought her mother was on the screen, so before she saw the screen, she sweetly called out
âmomâ.
Mike didnât know whether to laugh or cry: âWhoâs mom? Iâm your uncle Mike!â
Seeing Mike, Robert immediately turned around and threw himself into his sisterâs arms, unwilling to look
at the camera again.
âStinky boy, why are you so ruthless!â Mike was indignant.
Robert hugged Laylaâs neck tightly and muttered softly: âSister go! Letâs go!â
About two hours later, Tammy gave birth to a little princess by caesarean section in the hospital.
