Chapter 1821
When His Eyes Opened
Layla shook her head: âNo! Dad never told me to take Robert to find you. It was Robert who didnât want
to come with me to find you. My brother was a little shy.â
Before returning to Aryadelle, Avery always thought that it was Elliot who prevented Robert from coming
to Bridgedale to find his mother, but Robert himself did not want to come.
âMom, although Dad is very annoying, he listens to me a lot of the time.â Layla didnât mean to speak for
Dad, but the meaning of her words was obvious.
Avery knew that Elliot was very fond of children.
No matter how their relationship changes, the child is always his biological child, how could he not love
the child?
âLayla, since you donât hate your father so much, why did you say that in front of him just now?â Avery
remembered the sadness on Elliotâs face when Layla said that she hated his father the most.
âI just want to be mad at him.â Layla frowned and took a breath, âMom, maybe my rebellious period is
over.â
âLayla, donât make him angry!â Avery said.
Layla: âWhy? Are you afraid that he will be bad to me and Robert?â
âNo.â Avery blushed slightly, âYour father is quite old⦠If he gets angry, it will be bad.â
Layla was stunned.
In Laylaâs mind, Dad has always been the same. He was tall and straight, as majestic as a mountain.
Layla would never have thought about Dadâs age if Mom hadnât reminded Dad that he was quite old.
She knew that people would grow old, but she never thought that parents would grow old.
âBaby, whatâs the matter? Did your motherâs words scare you?â Avery immediately comforted her
daughter when she saw that her mood was suddenly down.
Laylaâs eyes were slightly red: âMom, I donât want you to grow old.â
âEveryone gets old.â Avery led her daughter into the hotel room.
Because Layla is afraid of living alone, she and Eric live in the presidential suite.
âYou live here with Layla, and Iâll open another room.â Eric said after sending them into the room.
Avery: âEric, did Layla have dinner tonight?â
Eric: âNo. Iâll order food now and have it delivered.â
âOkay, Iâll take her to take a bath first.â Avery led Layla into the bedroom.
After the room door was closed, Avery went to find her pajamas.
Layla followed behind her: âMom, is it really impossible for you and my dad?â
Avery tightened her fingers on the clothes: âDo you want me to be with your dad again?â
âI didnât really think about itâ¦I want to go back to the way we were before when you were not divorced,
how happy we were living together as a family!â Layla always thinks of the happy life before, âBut I know
itâs my wishful thinking. Youâve both been divorced for so long, and I hope you find a better man than
Dadâ¦â
âLayla, thereâs so much to do Mom, and finding a man is definitely not on my schedule.â Avery put the
pajamas on the bed, and then took her daughter to remove her makeup.
âI know, I know! Uncle Eric said that no one is worthy of you. But Iâm afraid you are lonely sometimes.â
Layla sat obediently in front of the dressing mirror and asked her mother to remove her makeup.
Avery wiped off the makeup on her daughterâs face little by little.
Seeing her daughter showing no makeup, she couldnât help thinking of Haze.
