Chapter 254
When His Eyes Opened
âIâm sorry, Doctor Sanford,â Elliot said as he immediately calmed down his nerves. He went back to his
usual cold self and added, âIt was my mistake last night, I need to calm down now.â
He left the room as he said it.
Zoe stood frozen. She thought her tears will soften him up, and that Elliot will take her into his arms and
comfort her.
Why on earth was he still acting so cold? And just took off like that?
He wasnât like this last night with Avery.
Zoe wiped her tears off her face. Though she was heartbroken last night, at least there was a positive
outcome for her. She looked for her phone and dialed Coleâs number.
âIâve succeeded,â said Zoe. âCongratulations, Dr. Sandord! Let me know if I can be of any help in the
future. Iâll be here for you,â said Cole with a laugh.
Zoeâs heart turned sour as she heard that from Cole. If only Elliot was half as obedient as Cole to her.
âTell me, do I look like a man? Your uncle never batted an eye on me,â said Zoe. âHe had zero reaction
even when I had no clothes on,â she added.
Cole laughed even harder as he heard that from her, âMy uncle is abnormal! Dr. Sanford, He should seek
medication as heâs the ill one.â
Zoe thought that was mockery, and she said sadly, âHe was completely normal last night when he was
with Avery!â
âOh...â Cole toned down his voice, and said, âNo man can refuse Avery, sheâs a real beaute.â
âDid you just say Iâm not as pretty?â Zoe asked,
âNo, Dr. Sanford! You have a great body and a pretty face. Both of you are beautiful! I mean, maybe,
men prefer Avery whoâs more seductive yet innocentâlooking...â
Zoe hung up. She didnât need to hear more.
She knew Avery was younger and prettier than her. She doesnât even wish for Elliotâs heart, as long as
he was hers.
In another room of the hotel, Chad woke up looking for his glasses. He was blind without them. As he felt
a warm body with his hands, he gasped! âWhoâs that?â Chad asked nervously.
He had too much to drink last night. He couldnât recall how he got here last night. He needed to look for
his glasses and check what was going on.
Mike yawned and kicked him with his leg and said, âWhat the hell are you waking so early for? Itâs a
weekend! âWhere are my glasses? Where did you hide them?â Chad could see a shadow moving in front
of him.
âWhy would I want your glasses for? Just say it if you want my help! Say please! If you just say pleaseâ¦â
Chad kicked Mike down the bed before he could finish his sentence.
âYou shameless prick! Why are you on my bed?â said Chad fuming with anger. âDarn it! I was going to
ask how did you end up on my bed! I canât remember a thing since last night as I got too drunk,â Mike got
hold of Chadâs collar and they fought on the bed.
Avery was woken by a phone call. She spent the night on the bench at the bus stop. She took out her
phone as she heard the ringing tone and put the phone close to her ears. Her fingers touched her ears,
and her skin felt hot.
Avery had a fever.
âAvery, they beat me up again!â Mike cried from the phone, âI slept with Chad again last night as I got too
drunk! How could they blame me if I blacked out?â
Avery held up her head and breathed in deeply, âIf you think youâre innocent, just call for the cops this
time.â
