Chapter 277
When His Eyes Opened
Chapter 277 âSince you are my stepmother, I will give you a day,â Avery said coldly and stepped out of
the café.
Back at the event hall, both Elliot and Wesley were looking rather drunk after only having a few glasses
to drink
âMr. Brook, I heard that Professor Hough had a secret student,â asked Elliot casually as he poured
Wesley another glass.
Wesley looked at him and flushed. âWhere did you hear that, Mr. Foster?â
Elliot lifted his glass and touched Wesleyâs. âYou only need to tell me yes or no, Mr. Brook.â
Wesley took a sip and responded in a troubled tone. âIâm sorry, but I cannot disclose any personal
information regarding Professor Hough.â
âProfessor Hough has passed away. Besides, itâs not like itâs something to be ashamed of.â
âWhat if that person doesnât wish to be found?â
Elliot beamed and said, âSo, Professor Hough did have a secret student.â
The person Wesley was referring to had to be the mysterious student.
Wesley picked up his glass and took another sip.
âMr, Brook, you are that secret student of Professor Hough, arenât you?â Elliot finally revealed his theory.
Wesley immediately spat out the wine in his mouth, and Elliot passed him the tissue box.
âThank you.â Wesley wiped his mouth with the tissue, before explaining with a blush on his face, âMr.
Foster, I was just Professor Houghâs assistant. I studied medicine as well, but I am nowhere near worthy
of being his student. Thatâs the whole reason why I was his assistant to begin with.â
âReally?â Elliot looked into his eyes as he tried to determine whether Wesley was telling the truth.
âOf course! Oh, right, havenât you already found Zoe?â Wesley changed the subject and said,â She is
brilliant.â
âThat, she is, but I want more options,â Elliot said in a low voice, âI heard that Professor Houghâs secret
student is a middle aged man, and Iâve sent people to find him. Itâs been two months since then, and I
havenât even found a clue.â
That was the reason why Elliot had decided to talk to Wesley.
Wesley was not sure if he wanted to cry or laugh. âSo Iâm a middle aged man to you, Mr. Foster?â
âIâm sorry, but I am at my witâs end.â
Wesley felt slightly impulsive after drinking and said, âYour information is wrong. Even if Professor Hough
had a secret student, it wouldnât be a middle aged man.â
âOh? So itâs a woman?â
Wesley pursed his lips but did not respond.
âMr. Brook, can you just give me some information?â Elliot continued, âName your price, I am willing to
pay any amount for it.â
Feeling overwhelmed, Wesley was left with no options but to lay his head on the table in an effort to
appear drunk.
When Avery walked into the hall and saw Wesley on the table, she was furious.
âThat b*st*rd Elliot! How dare he get my friend drunk?â
She strode toward Elliot, and he turned abruptly to look at her when he sensed her approach.
âWhat is the meaning of this, Elliot Foster?!â She glared at him.
Flushed, his eagle eyes appeared innocent for a moment. He picked up the bottle on the table and
showed it to her. The two of them had only drunk half the bottle, and he suspected that Wesley was only
pretending to be drunk.
âWesley canât drink!â Avery set the bottle back onto the table with a frown and went to help Wesley up
Elliot scowled when he saw her reaching for Wesley, and he pulled her back.
Unprepared, she fell into his arms,
âAvery, I-âHe swallowed heavily as he studied her familiar face intently and muttered in a hoarse voice, âI
think Iâm drunk.â
