Chapter 2921
When His Eyes Opened
Layla: âDidnât hear clearly. Only his voice was heard.â
âSister, you can sleep with me tonight!â Hazel said, âMaybe we really misunderstood Dad.â
Layla: âBut that childâ¦â
âHe doesnât look like Dad that much. Why donât we go down and take a look now?â Hazel said.
âOkay! Letâs go and see again.â
The two sisters went downstairs together as they spoke.
In the master bedroom.
After Elliot finished what he wanted to say, Averyâs mood instantly calmed down a lot.
Avery: âSterilization is not 100% able to prevent pregnancy.â
âThe doctor told me at the beginning that as long as the operation is successful, it is almost 100%.â
Elliot vowed, âOtherwise, letâs go to the hospital for an examination to see if there is any accident in the
operation I performed before.â
Avery glanced at the time, it was almost 9 oâclock.
âBoth of us havenât used other contraceptive measures for so many years, arenât you pregnant? Why
do you think I can let other women have children?â Elliot became more confident as he spoke.
He took Laylaâs pink pillow off the bed and got into bed.
Avery watched him go to bed, echoed what he said, and for a moment, didnât know what to do.
âAvery, where is the most basic trust between people? You donât believe me so much, it really breaks
my heart.â Elliot complained, âIâve never been wronged like this! Iâm with you every day, What kind of
person am I, do you really have no idea?!â
âThe result hasnât come out yet! You started complaining.â Avery looked sideways at him.
âAnyway, that child is not mine. I have a clear conscience. I am not afraid of the shadow. I will sleep
here tonight.â Elliot shook off the quilt and covered himself.
â¦
The next day, Hayden returned home.
After coming out of the airport, he took a taxi back to Fosterâs house.
He deliberately didnât ask the driver at home to pick him up.
From Haydenâs perspective, Elliot owned the entire Foster family.
If his mother and Elliot divorced, it was necessary for Elliot to leave the house. After drawing a line with
Elliot, Hayden planned to take his mother to Bridgedale to live.
Staying in the country meant that his mother would occasionally hear about Elliot, which was
detrimental to her efforts to get sober.
Seeing Hayden coming back, Avery immediately brought him shoes.
âWhy didnât you ask the driver to pick you up?â Avery asked.
âI can come back by myself, no need to pick me up.â Hayden changed his shoes and glanced into the
living room.
Elliot was here, and so was Layla.
âBrother, are you hungry?â Layla walked up to Hayden and asked.
âIâm not hungry.â Haydenâs eyes fell on Elliot.
âHayden, that child is not mine.â Elliot knew what Hayden was going to say, so he spoke first, âI had a
vasectomy after I remarried with your mother. With our four children, I have long been satisfied. I have
never thought about having another child. If you donât believe me, ask your mother.â
After a night of thinking, Avery gradually calmed down.
What Elliot said was true.
He had suffered a ligation, and neither of them had adopted any other means of contraception these
years, and she had never been pregnant, which showed that his operation was successful.
âHayden, there may be some misunderstanding about this matter.â Avery took Haydenâs arm and pulled
him to sit on the sofa, âWe will wait for the paternity test results to come out first.â
Layla poured Hayden a glass of water.
Layla: âBrother, did I scare you when I called you yesterday?â
âWhat do you think?â Hayden took the water glass and drank.
âI was really terrified at the time. Who knew that my father had undergone a vasectomy! I didnât tell you
earlier.â Layla complained in a low voice, âWould you like to see that child? That child really looks like
our family.â
