Chapter 418
When His Eyes Opened
Chapter 418 Tammy was afraid that Avery would misunderstand, and she immediately added, âAvery, if
he doesnât want to come, thatâs up to him, but you have to come! Youâre my best friend. If youâre not
coming, I wonât get married.â
Avery said, âIâll attend your wedding.â Tammy let out a sigh of relief. âThatâs awesome! I heard you injured
your leg. How is it? I had always thought of contacting you, but Elliot was still in bad shape then, and I
was afraid that you would be in a bad mood. So, I didnât contact you.â
âMy leg is much25 better.â
âThatâs good to hear. Letâs go shopping tomorrow!â
âIt did not heal very well.â Avery looked at the injury on her leg. It was no longer wrapped in bandages,
and the scar looked96 bad.
Thankfully, she had bought quite a few long skirts in the past. So, she could easily hide the scar.
âThen Iâll come to visit you tomorrow. Donât worry. I wonât ask you anything regarding Elliot, âTammy2d
promised.
âHmm.â
The next morning, before the two children headed for kindergarten, Tammy arrived. Not only did she
bring a big bag of fruits, snacks, toys, and new clothes, but she also bought a huge bag of49 breakfast.
Avery was stunned.
âTammy, you didnât have to. Layla told me that during the time I wasnât around, you came and played with
them every single day, and you even bought them new toys and snacks for them-35 dailyâ¦â
âItâs my duty!â Tammy passed the bag of breakfast to Avery before lifting up Averyâs skirt.â My goodness!
What a huge wound!â
Avery said, âIt doesnât hurt that much anymore.â
âWhat on earth! This is the first time Iâm seeing a relationship turn out this way.â Tammy did not say much
apart from that one comment. She took the bag of toys and clothes to the children.
âAre you two heading to school?â
âAunt Tammy, I really hope you get married today. That way, I donât have to go to school.â Layla was
carrying her bag. She was rather reluctant to go to school.
âBabe, why donât you want to go to school?
âBecause I want to play with Mommy at home,â Layla answered honestly.
âLayla, Iâm going back to work tomorrow,â Avery said.
âWhich is why I donât want to go to school today. Aunt Tammy is also here. I donât want to go to school.
Let me stay at home and play with you too, please!â Layla pouted and begged.
Without waiting for Avery to say anything, Tammy immediately took Laylaâs bag off her shoulders. âOkay,
okay! Youâll stay home today! Kindergarten is not like elementary school. Itâs fine if you skip one day.â
Tammy said this for Averyâs benefit. âTammy, if you ever have children of your own, they would be
spoiled rotten by you,â Avery said with a sigh.
âMy babe, Layla, has already said she wants to play at home today. When you go back to work, sheâll go
back to school!â said Tammy placatingly to Avery as she scooped Layla into her arms. âIf I have a
daughter as cute as Layla, I couldnât bear send her to kindergarten! I would hire a tutor to teach her at
home.
âIâm only saying that because Iâm free and can afford to stay at home to care for them. You arenât in the
same boat! Youâre a strong working woman!â said Tammy and quickly added,â But going to kindergarten
and getting used to society in preparation for elementary school is quite important too.â
Avery took a sip of water and thought for a while. She said, âTammy, you donât have to tiptoe around me.
Iâm not used to it.â
Tammy raised her eyebrows and said, âThen what happened to you and Elliot?â
Avery was speechless.
âYou were the one who told me not to tiptoe around you,â Tammy said in a matter-of-fact manner. âBut I
can guess without you telling me. The fight between couples is one where even a misspoken sentence
can end lives.â
Avery shook her head. âTammy, you should stop guessing. A guest is coming over later.â
Tammy and the two children immediately perked their ears up.
âWho is it?!â Mike heard the commotion in the living area. He came out of his room.
He appeared in front of everyone wearing only his boxers. Tammy immediately rushed over and pushed
him into his room.
âCan you pay attention to your image? Donât defile our precious Laylaâs eyes. How many times have I
told you? Why wonât you change?â Tammy barked.
Mike was rather speechless. âAre you a modern woman or not? I have such a good body, how is this
defiling Laylaâs eyes?â âGo in and put on some clothes!â Tammy pushed him back into his room.
