Chapter 576
When His Eyes Opened
The interview was posted online by the reporter. Soon, the video became an instant sensation on the
internet
The rumors circulating that Avery had scammed 1400 million out of Elliot had already caught a lot of
attention and this was the first time Avery had ever responded to it.
To everyoneâs surprise, the rumors were true; what was more shocking to most was the fact that Elliot
had not sued her or requested compensation. It was a wonder to everyone and they couldnât help but
wonder if Elliot was truly that easily fooled.
In Sterling Group, Elliot returned to his office after being in a meeting for an hour and found countless
messages when he turned on his phone. Every message was followed by a short clip. He scowled and
played the video.
âMiss. Tate, we heard that you scammed 1400 million out of Elliot Foster, may I know if thatâs true?â
âIt's true.
ââ¦â Everyone was instantly rendered speechless.
âYou have to be joking, Miss. Tate. If itâs indeed true, why hasnât he sued you?â
âBecause Mr. Foster is far too rich and 1400 million means nothing to him. If anyone of you want to
become rich overnight, all you need to do is lie to him. Heâs easily fooled.â
Elliotâs expression immediately darkened. Had he not seen her face and heard her voice from the
video, he would never believe it to be68 true.
The door was pushed open and Ben walked in laughing.
âElliot, have you seen the video? Hahaha! Did you piss her off?â
Elliot set his phone down and took a sip of water out of the glass.
âShe seems to be doing fine.â Ben walked towards him and said, âyou two havenât met since she came
back, have you?â
Indeed, they hadnât met in person, but they had already gotten into an argument.
âDo you want to see her?â Ben asked, âI can figure something out if you doâ¦â
âI donât want to.â Elliot put the glass down.
âIf we meet, itâs either she pisses me off, or I piss her off. She is pregnant right now, and I donât want to
get her angry.â
Neither did he want to get angry, so it was best for them to not meet.
âCanât you two communicate properly?â Ben sighed.
âDo it for the baby, at least! You canât let the kid come into this world without a father, can you?â
âShe doesnât want me to be the father of her children.â
âThen be more forceful! You canât let her get whatever she wants.â
Elliot gave Ben a look. âShe wonât accept me even when Iâm not being forceful; she is going to resent
me if I try to be more forceful.â
ââ¦But you canât just let her be. Her belly will begin to show in a month or two and people will start to
guess who the father is.â
âLetâs wait until then. My head is hurting.â
âHahaha! She is a piece of work, but because she is different from other women that you canât give up
on her.â
Outside the office, Chelseaâs expression darkened as she listened to their conversation.
Elliot had admitted that he couldnât give up on Avery and that he was going to take the responsibility to
care for Avery and the baby once her belly showed.
âHaha!â She thought, âwhat if Averyâs belly never gets to show?â
Chelsea didnât dare to directly harm Avery in any way, but there were indirect ways to cause a
miscarriage. After all, if the mother was extremely emotional, the embryo would suffer greatly as well.
After attending the summit, Avery stepped out of the hotel with her bodyguard. Suddenly, her phone
started to ring and she took it out to answer the call.
The caller said something and she smiled, before hanging up.
Confused, the bodyguard asked, âWho called, Miss. Tate? Why didnât you say anything?â
Avery put her phone back into her purse and said, âyou will find out later.â
Once they were in the car, Avery gave the bodyguard a name of a restaurant.
The bodyguard drove and guessed, âdid Elliot Foster ask you out, Miss. Tate?â
The smile on Averyâs face froze at the mention of Elliotâs name. âWhy would you mention his name? Do
you think Iâd be this happy if he is the one asking out?â The bodyguard quieted down.
