Chapter 592
When His Eyes Opened
âHeh! As expected!â Tammy sneered. âChelsea brought that lady over to present her to Elliot.â
Avery retracted her gaze. Although she found it absurd, she could not control what other people do.
âHow unlucky! We were initially in a good mood, yet we bumped into them.â Tammy took a sip of water
and looked at Avery. âAvery, why donât we change to a different restaurant?â
Avery shook her head. âWe came here first.â
âIâm afraid youâll be upset.â
âEven if Iâm upset, we canât leave,â Avery said calmly, âWe have already ordered the food. We canât let
it go toee waste.â
âWhy donât we take it away and have it back home!â
Avery said, âTammy, I donât remember you being such a coward? If that lady has really done something
to her face to look like me, then she should be afraid of seeing me, not me avoiding her.â
âOf course, Iâm not a coward! Even if Elliot walks to me right now, I wonât be afraid!â Tammy might say
that she was not afraid, but she subconsciously reached out her hand to touch the cheek that was
slapped previously.
The waiter served them and placed the dishes on the table. Avery picked up her utensils and placed
some food in her68 dish.
âWhen my mom was still alive, she often told me to let bygones be bygones. Whether it was a person
or something. Donât think about the past. Life will be less troublesome that way.â
Tammy said, âShe put it well, but itâs hard to achieve this.â
âHmm. My mom loves my father a lot. After their divorce, she could not get over it. It was until when my
father passed away that the lawyers read his will. When she realized that he left the company and the
core technology that he has been researching for me, she sobbed terribly, then only did she get over it.
She felt that all the grievances that she went through were all worth it.â
âSometimes I really hate it. Why a good person like Aunt Laura was killed but Wanda has not even
received her retribution!â Tammy said through gritted teeth.
Avery lowered her gaze and said depressingly, âLetâs eat!â
On the other side, after Elliot saw the lady in the white dress, a hint of surprise flashed across his eyes.
âElliot, this is my cousin, Nora,â Chelsea introduced her to Elliot, âShe just graduated college. Sheâs
been looking for a job recently. Iâm thinking if she could work with me in the same company, I could look
after her.â
âHello, Elliot. Iâm Nora,â Nora said gently.
Elliot looked at her face closely. It was too similar to Avery!
Would two unrelated people look alike in this world?
âElliot, do you think that Nora looks a little like Avery?â When Chelsea saw how Elliot kept looking at
Nora, she immediately explained, âShe has been studying abroad all this while. I only saw her the day
before yesterday.â
Nora said, âChelsea said that I look like Avery, I didnât believe her initially. It was until she showed me
her photo that I realized I do look quite like her!â
Chelsea smiled and said, âOnly about fifty percent or so. Nora is mixed. Her facial features are more
protruding.â
Nora blushed. âElliot, I wonder if you would let me work in your company?â
âWhat is your major?â
âSecretarial work,â Nora obediently replied, âElliot, if I could work next to you, I will work hard. I wonât let
you down.â
Elliot said coldly, âIâm not lacking secretaries. If you canât find a job, Iâll introduce you to my friendâs
company on behalf of Chelsea.â
Chelsea was stunned. Nora was baffled too.
âElliot, I really want her to work for us. That way, I can take care of her easier,â Chelsea bore through
the embarrassment and said shamelessly.
Elliot said, âThen, place her in your department.â
Noraâs eyes instantly reddened. Chelsea grabbed her hand under the table and said to Elliot,â Then, Iâll
arrange for her to work in my department.â
Elliot said, âYou donât have to report such small matters to me.â
Chelsea did not expect that he would be so cold toward Nora. Nora looked a lot like Avery, but her
facial features were much more exquisite than Averyâs. Any man who looked at Nora would fall for her.
Not only did Elliot not fall for her, but he detested her too.
