Chapter 735
When His Eyes Opened
Avery stared at Chad and waited for him to continue.
âHe has some stomach problems. When he gets busy and nobody is there to remind him, heâll forget to
eat which triggers his stomach issues. Heâs got medication in his office and in his car. Other than that,
heâs also got mild depression. I heard about that from Ben. You canât really tell heâs got depression
from your usual interactions with him.â
âI could tell. His mood is unpredictable, which gives people a sense of oppression.
âIâm used to it, so I donât think itâs that bad,â Chad said awkwardly.
âDoes he have any other illnesses?â Avery continued to ask.
Chad thought about it and said, âI donât think thereâs anything serious.â
âAnything psychological, for example?â
âWouldnât depression count for that?â
âMedically speaking, depression is considered a mental illness,â Avery responded.
âOh... Are the psychological issues youâre talking about referring to people in mental hospitals with
psychological disorders?â Chad frowned.
âNot all psychological disorders are severe enough for one to be sent to a mental hospital.â
âWhy are you suddenly suspecting Mr. Foster of having a psychological disorder, Avery?â Chad asked.
âItâs not a sudden suspicion. Iâve had a feeling for a while,â Avery said softly.
âIâm suspecting this because heâs brought this up to me before. Donât tell him that we talked about
this.â
âGot it. From a doctorâs point of view, does it seem to you like Mr. Foster has a psychological disorder?â
Chadâs mood was complicated.
He would never have connected Elliot Foster with a mental health patient.
âHeâs always upsetting me, but I wouldnât take him for someone with a psychological disorder just
because of that. Besides, Iâm not a psychologist. My words have no authority.â
After dinner, Avery went to the intensive care unit to check on Robert.
Robert had slipped into a coma once again because of his anemia. Her heart ached at the sight of his
tiny body and quiet sleeping face. It looked almost as if he would never wake up again.
Sometime later, the doctor burst into the room.
âMiss Tate! The bag of blood that Mr. Foster brought is being tested right now. If itâs a match, weâll use it
on Robert right away.â
Averyâs heart, which felt like it was dangling in midair, suddenly fell to the ground. She walked out of the
intensive care unit with Elliotâs handsome yet haggard face.
He looked like he had not slept for at least two days.
âThank you,â she said as she lowered her gaze. âYou should go home and get some sleep. Donât
exhaust yourself.â
As she spoke, she suddenly noticed that his trousers were dirty where his knee was.
Elliot had always taken care of his appearance and would never show up in public in this state. She
crouched down to pat away the dirt on his knee, but suddenly discovered that his other trouser leg was
also dirtied in the same spot.
Elliot did not expect to forget to change into a clean pair of trousers, and he did not expect Avery to
notice!
He instinctively took a few steps back.
âWhat happened?â When Avery saw him step back, she grabbed his arm and did not let him escape.
Her almondâshaped eyes were fixed calmly on him.
Elliot pursed his lips. He did not know how to answer her.
âMr. Foster got down on his knees to beg for that bag of blood!â said the bodyguard indignantly.
