Chapter Twelve
Sassy meets Classy
Amaryllis Lexington
****
My head bobbed to the sound of Justin Bieber's intentions playing loudly in my ear, as I walked into class. The doctor had my cast taken out when we got back from the hospital because the swelling had gone down. It wasn't even a big deal, but my parents insisted on me getting a cast.
Making you look like a cripple.
The thought of Hawthorne filled my head and a sinister smirk slowly made its way to my lips. My intentions for Hawthorne were the direct contrast of what Justin's were. Maya and Olive had tried to force me to back out of my revenge plan, but I wasn't having it. I actually thought Maya would be on board with the plan, but instead she was vehemently against it. Ugh!
Unfortunately, I didn't share any class with him today, which means I would have to find another way to get close to him so I could steal his car keys. I kept counting down to when it was lunch, and immediately the bell was rung, I limp walked out of class.
"So you're really doing this?" Maya fell into step with him, a disapproving look on her face. I rolled my eyes, placing a call to the chocolate dealer.
"Of course, girl. I can't just let him get away with it." I sighed before placing the phone on my ear. The phone rang for a while, the sound giving me a mild headache, before he picked up.
"We are about ten minutes away, ma'am. We'll have them delivered soon." He said immediately he picked up and I thanked him, then hung up. I rubbed my palms together with excitement. Hawthorne picked the wrongest girl to mess with.
"I'll meet you guys at the table once I get the keys. Don't worry about me." I said, waving the disapproving Maya off. She was giving me that scolding look that made me consider being a good girl and just letting it to, but when I saw the demon boy smiling with his friends, I couldn't stand it.
The whole cafeteria slowly went silent as I walked over to their table. I guess people don't do that, but whatever. The angel looking demon looked up at me and a small smirk made its way up his face. Have you ever being in that state where you really hate the guts of someone but you literally just can't stand how handsome they are?
The way those grey eyeballs skimmed over me, till they reached my legs and the smile on his face made me shake my head. Don't be such a creep, Amari. This is the enemy, remember? The dude you want to tear apart limb from limb? The one who tried to kill you? Good!
"To what do I owe this unwanted visit?" was the first thing he greeted me with and I smirked. I walked over to him, picked up an empty chair from the table behind them, and placed it beside him.
"Actually, the word should be pleasure, or don't you think so?" I retorted and he was about to reply, but I raised one hand in a motion to silence him, and that caused his eyes to widen with surprise.
"Hello, Demon's friends. It's nice to meet all of you. I've heard a lot about you guys. My name is Amaryllis Lexington." I gave a sickly sweet smile, staring into the familiar faces of these gorgeous species. The one who almost made me fall over on my chair was the korean dude. He looked GORGEOUS!!!!
"I wish we could say the same." One of them said, a devilish smirk on his face, and I recognize him as Jayden McCurtny, Maya's partner. Nasty attitude. Little wonder poor Maya almost had a heart attack.
"If it helps, I haven't heard any good thing about you guys too, so we're even." I grinned, causing all of them to share glances. I was searching the table for Carlson's car keys, but I found about three keys quite close to each other. I ruled out one of the keys that had a Toyota logo, because this crazy dude uses a Benz, same as the person with the other key.
"Are you here to ogle my car keys or spend time with me?" Carlson interrupted and I rolled my eyes, turning my attention back to him. I hated how he had that calm look on his face. If only he knew what I had in store for him, hah!
"I think she's tired of staring at basic looking people all day, so she decided to stop by at the table where all the good looks are at." One of the other guys said and I snorted in an unladylike manner.
"Yeah. If Godzilla and a troll had a baby, it would still look better than you guys." I lied through my teeth, and said guy gasped.
"This," he waved a hand over his face in a dramatic manner, "is a masterpiece, baby. I can't speak for the rest, but I am the whole deal." He said and I laughed.
"Yeah, and I lent Bill Gates a million dollars." He looked confused for a while, then he suddenly threw a pickle at me. What?
"What's with you guys and dumping food on people? Is it like some guy thing?" I sighed. None of them answered me, but they all had their eyes on me. Some had scary smirks and some had raised brows. The Korean hottie crossed his arms and placed them on the table, then rested on it. He eyed me for a while, then assumed a normal sitting position.
"O.. Kay? What was that about?" I asked and he stared at me for a second before he shrugged.
"Nothing. Just wondering what kind of stuff you're made of. You sauntered over here like you were invited, and now you're insulting us. Do you have like a death wish or something?" He asked and my mouth formed an O. He was actually right. I was being very dumb.
"I see no reason why I should be nice to you people. For all its worth, you guys probably assisted this doofus here to marinate me in chocolate." The grin that appeared on their faces told me I was totally right.
My phone rang before anyone else could get any word in, and the caller ID showed that it was my chocolate dealer. I bit my lip anxiously because I was nowhere close to getting the keys I came for. I had to act fast. I decided to just pick both keys and try it out.
"Soo...." I said nervously and laughed, twisting to face Carlson who just sat there, watching me calmly.
"I came here to thank you for the milkshake actually. It came in really handy, and I followed your prescription on how to ingest it." I said and his smirk widened.
"Too bad I couldn't get a picture. You're welcome....and Bye." Oh no. What do I do? Suddenly, the can of Pepsi sitting close to me came to my view and I almost screamed yes.
"Yeah, bye." I said and stood up. I pretended to have put too much weight on my wounded keg, and I yelled in pain and pushed myself against the table in a rough manner. The darned can only shook, but it didn't fall. Gosh!
None of the boys even attempted to help me. I placed my hands on the table, pretending to steady myself and I secretly shoved the can. The drink came gushing out and they all stood up abruptly, trying not to get stained by the drink.
"Must you always cause trouble?" Hawthorne yelled, running a hand into his hair. For a second, I almost forgot what I was supposed to do, but thankfully, I snapped out of my trance. I pretended to try to salvage their items and I picked up the keys and shoved them in my small bag when no one was watching me. They had their eyes on the soiled table.
"Have fun cleaning. Bye!" I yelled and rushed away from them, ignoring the threats that Jayden threw at me. He said something along the lines of drowning me in a Pepsi pool. Whoever said I would mind.
I got outside and found the chocolate dealer with a frustrated look on his face. When he sighed me, he plastered on a fake smile. I know he wanted to bash my head in for ignoring his calls and keeping him waiting, but he couldn't do that. Perks of being a Lexington.
"Miss Lexington. These are the chocolate gallons." He said, pointing at two gallons of chocolate goodness sitting on the floor. My mouth watered at the sight and I almost reconsidered wasting so much goodness on revenge, but I had gone too far.
I had studied where Carlson parks his car, so it didn't take me long to locate the sleek black vehicle. I tried the first key that my hand could find, and yay me! It was the right one. The lights flashed and I heard the clicks.
I put on my gloves and set into action. I poured all two gallons of chocolate into his car. I smeared all the seats messily and when I was satisifiqd with the job, I smiled. I removed my glove and dug into my bag for the final items. I picked out the little handwritten note, which I wrapped in a transparent nylon to prevent it from being soaked by chocolate, then a berry.
I placed the chocolate on the driver's seat and placed the berry on it, then I locked the car. Thanks to the tinted windows, no one could see the car now had a chocolate interior. Carlson, you won't know what hit you by the time you see what I've done.
I walked back into the cafeteria and I secretly dropped their keys at the food counter, then I called the attention of the waiter to the keys as if I just found them laying there. I hurried away as soon as she picked the megaphone to announce the missing keys.
"Did you do it?" Olive asked, beaming at me. She was the only person who was on board with my plan. Maya was still sporting a frown. Oopsie!
"Maya told me what you decided to do. I can't wait to see the look on Carlson's face." Kayla said while giving me a thumbs up. Makes two of us, queen!
"I guess we just have to wait and see, huh?"

"She's crazy, man. Walking in here like she's known us for years." Alex said and I smiled. I couldn't even doubt that, but I had to admit, her crazy was fun.
She came at the right time. I was slowly losing my mind from mum's incessant troubles and I needed a big break. I needed someone to make me forget what my life was now and give me a glimpse of what my life looked like. Basically, I needed someone to push around and Amaryllis Lexington fell into my trap.
"She's cute though. Have you seen those eyes? Killer!" David, the playboy, said and we all shook our heads at him. I knew he had a reason for entertaining her conversations and even throwing food at her. He found her interesting and he wanted to work his way into her life.
"What? Don't look at me like that. Carl should be at the receiving end of these glares. Did you guys see how he had his eyes on her all the time she was here?" He said and my eyes widened slightly.
"Are you crazy, man? I didn't have my eyes on her, bro. I was looking at her and wondering why the hell she would even be here." I said honestly. Amaryllis might be the most beautiful girl I've ever come across, but I had no plans of getting involved with a Lexington sister. Those girls were trouble. One of them is pure evil, one of them hates my guts, and the latest addition was a combination of the two. I had no plans of going down that lane.
"Allison would literally take your life, man." Lee said and I rolled my eyes. I hated how even my friends thought of the girl as something important. She was all bark and no bite. Well, she was all bark and bite to others, but she would literally be signing her death sentence if she comes any close to me.
"Allison is the least of my troubles. Actually, she is not even part of my troubles. I couldn't care less what she thinks. I just don't want to get involved wi..."
"Two Mercedes keys have been forgotten at the meal counter. If they are yours, come for it now." We heard a waiter announce from the other end of the cafeteria, and I didn't bother to check myself. I knew I had my car keys with me.
"Wait. Where are my keys? I could swear I had them here." Alex said, searching his pockets. I checked for mine too and I was surprised to find out that it was gone.
"Maybe you thought you had it. Go check the keys they found at the counter." Jayden offered, and we both stood up. I didn't want to believe my keys had somehow grown wings and flown to the other end of the hall. I had a very vivid memory of myself removing the keys from my pocket and placing them on the table. Either the keys had suddenly started practicing some of my secret magic tricks or I was already going bonkers.
To our surprise, the keys belonged to us. We retrieved them and made our way back to our seats. I was about to sit down when my phone rang. I picked it up from the table and excused myself when I saw that it was from work. They never called me during school hours except it was something very urgent.
"Yes, Joey?"
"Sir, you're needed here immediately. The CEO of Cartwise and son just flew in from Singapore and he is insisting on talking things out with the acting CEO before he can sign the papers." I ran my hands through my head frustratedly. Clients like John Cartwise should be jailed!
"Alright, Joey. I'll be there as soon as possible. Get the conference room ready, and all the papers I'll need for the meeting." I ordered and hung up. I hurried back to the table. I needed to get there ASAP or else, I would have to spend hours pacifying that jerk of a man called John.
"Work?" Lee asked, a hint of sadness in his voice and I nodded. They really hated when our guy time had to be cut short because I had to work. At least they still had each other to hang out with. I would be bored out of my mind in a stupid meeting with a crazy old man who should have retired years ago.
"Trust me, I feel worse than you guys." I sighed and they smiled. I picked up my keys and hurried out. I didn't want to dwell on the unfortunate situation I was in, because somehow my thoughts would end up with my mum and my mood would be worsened.
I unlocked my car and pulled the door open. My eyes almost fell out of their socket when I saw the state my car was in. My mouth was hanging open and murderous thoughts were going through my head. I didn't need anyone to tell me who did this. The berry said it all. I picked the note and it confirmed my suspicions.
How do you like your sweet carriage, Hawthorne? Don't you just want to eat it all up? Well, good news, my darling. You can eat to your heart's content. Save some for tomorrow, okay? Don't eat it all in one day.

At that moment, all thoughts of Cartwise went out of the window and I walked back into school. My brain working as fast as a calculator, trying to come up with ways to make Amaryllis suffer, and suffer, she will.
She never should have tried me. Somebody should have warned her not to do it. Someone should have warned her not to commit suicide.
