Chapter Thirteen

Sassy meets Classy

Amaryllis Lexington

*****

"Ouu. He's going outside. Does he know?" Kayla jumped, the excitement on her face was even more than mine. I watched Carlson walk out of the cafeteria and I swallowed. My excitement was beginning to give way for fear.

Come on, Amari. He started this!

I shook myself, slapping my head to get it back in the game. I had gone too far to back out now. Maya was about to say something when her gaze slid towards the entrance and her eyes widened. I didn't have to turn to know who it was. I pretended like I didn't know, and despite the fact that the murmurs around us increased, I didn't look in that direction.

"Lexington." That accent every darned time. I wanted to ignore him but I just couldn't, thanks to my stupid lack of resistance, my head turned on impulse and I swallowed hard. He look furious.

"Y..yes?" I tried to keep my voice steady but I was failing desperate. What if he lacks morals and decides to hit me? He's going to break my nose and I won't be able to do anything about. Oh God. I should have listened to Maya.

"I believe you have a car to wash." I gave a mock gasp that only seemed to infuriate him further. I was torn between going on my knees and begging for mercy or throwing caution to the wind and daring him. Of course, I chose the latter.

"Me? Why, Hawthorne? Did someone drench your car in chocolate?" I smirked and slowly, his frown turned into a wicked smile. It was just as beautiful as it was wicked. Devil

"You shouldn't have done this, Lexington. Someone should have warned you." He sighed and I looked at him like he was crazy. Of course someone warned me, but I didn't listen. Before I could think of a response, he swept me up bridal style. For the second time! And the first time, he almost took my life.

"The hell, dude? You don't just sweep me up like some knight in shining armour whenever you wish?" I yelled, struggling to get out of his arms, but he only held me tighter. I low-key didn't want to jump down. He smelt heavenly and the feeling was gooooood.

"You don't look like you have a problem with it." He said and started carrying me out of the cafeteria. Over his shoulder, I could see my friends standing up and a few others too. Soon enough, the whole cafeteria was on their feet and following us. At least, I'll have witnesses to my murder.

"What on earth are you doing, Hawthorne? You wanna kill me?" If he heard me, he didn't act like it. He just kept walking towards the direction of his car, and I started to connect the dots. Oh my God.

"Don't. You. Dare!" I yelled, squirming terribly so he would drop me, but he had a death grip on me. He opened the back seat quickly and I didn't have the chance to jump down, and shoved me in it. Ewwwww.

I was about to force myself out when he pressed me down with his strong arms, and turned me over, rolling me and marinating me in chocolate, despite my screams and protests. When he looked like he had had enough, he shut the door and I heard the locks click.

"Bastardized Gorilla." I yelled, hitting the window with my chocolate stained palms. A satisfied smirk appeared on my face as I saw the print of my hands of his car window.

He dangled the key in front of me, a huge smirk on his face. I watched him walk over to one of his friends and hand him the key, saying something I couldn't hear. Of course! He exchanged keys with one of them, got into the second car beside him, and drove away. That Jerk!

"Help!" I yelled but no-one answered me. I glanced around for my friends and I saw them. Maya had an 'I-told-you-so' look, Olive had doubled over with laughter, and Kayla had her hand over her mouth with shock.

I kept trying to open the door, despite knowing it was locked. Slowly the crowd started to disperse and soon enough, I was left with just my friends and the despicable gang. They kept staring at me, smirks on their faces. Suddenly, I heard the faint ringing of a bell and the girls stared at me with pity. I knew they had to get to class, so I nodded and waved them off.

One of the boys walked over to me and brought out the car keys from his pocket. I was so glad, until he rolled the window down a bit, wide enough to allow ventilation, but too narrow for me to jump out.

"Jerk! Get me out of here!" I yelled but he just shrugged and walked back to his friends. I watched my life flash before my eyes when they started heading back into the school.

"I hate you guys!" I yelled and they flipped me off in synchronization. I sighed and relaxed back in the seat, only to grimace from the stickiness. I stared into the car mirror and my eyes widened at my appearance.

I looked like a vagabond. My blonde hair was now brunette, thanks to the stupid chocolate, and my face had chocolate smeared all over it. My clothes were obviously stained. Damn, I fell into my own trap.

I kept staring out, waiting for the boys to come back and get me out, but that didn't happen. When I realized they weren't going to come back, I decided to help myself. I climbed to the passenger's seat and pushed the chair back to the perfect position, then laid down on it. I didn't have to bother about getting my clothes stained anymore because they had already changed colour anyway. Hawthorne owes me a shopping bag full of clothes.

The only upside to this situation was that I didn't have to attend class, and that makes me extremely glad. In your face, Hawthorne!...  I guess?

I woke up to someone shaking me violently and I groaned, pushing the evil person away and assuming a new position on my soft, soft bed. Except, this bed wasn't soft. This bed felt like leather and that is the exact opposite of what a bed should be.

"Wow. You get locked in a car and you're having a field day? Sleeping like you've been sleep starved for weeks?" Am I in England? Oh my God. I'm on a leather bed in England, with hot Brit boysssss. Yaaaas!

"For Heaven's sake, Amaryllis. Get up!" He smacked me and my eyes flew open. I was confused for about fifteen seconds, then everything came back to me. Damn!

I stared into the grey eyes of Hawthorne and I could swear I saw a guilty look on his face, but I didn't care one tiny bit. If he thinks that's going to stop me from getting another revenge, he was dead wrong.

What do you mean by another? This wasn't a revenge, Amari. This was a 'you played yourself situation'.

"Get out of my car." He snapped at me and my eyes widened. What audacity! You shove me in a car, marinate me in chocolate, lock me up and then demand that I get out? Rude, much.

"Nope. Why do you think I'll do what you say? You had your chance of letting me out but you didn't take it. Now you want me to go?" He wanted to respond but I halted him with a raise of my hand.

"Tell me something, Hawthorne. Does my presence here piss you off?" He nodded, looking every bit of the pissed off. Good! Now, it is my life ambition to piss him off till he cries hot tears... and that's most likely not to happen.

"Lexington, get out of my car. I need to lock it up so someone can come get it to the car wash." I thought about it for a minute and I realized getting out of the car would be the best course of action, but not so easily.

"Why? Are you having second thoughts about locking me in now? You didn't have a problem telling your evil friends to lock me in and make me miss what, two periods already?" That teeny tiny guilty look was back, but it disappeared just as soon as it came, and was replaced with a smirk.

"You wanna stay? Then, that's alright by me. I'll come open up for you when class is over." He said, a self satisfied smirk on his face. In his gorgeous but stupid head, he would probably be thinking I'd jump out like a flash at his words. That's actually exactly what I wanted to do, but that smirk made me do otherwise. I would rather have my hair shaved off than allow Carlson to win this round again.

"Okay. Bye. Shut the door quickly so I can get some sleep. The sun is pissing me off." I mumbled, curling into a small ball on the car seat. I wanted to turn and look at the look he had on his face, but I didn't want to strain my neck or move from this position. It was way too comfy.

"Fine. Have it your way." He grumbled and shut the door with a slam. This time, I didn't hear the locks click so that could only mean he didn't lock me in and gave me an opportunity to go out whenever I wanted. Awww, so sweet......NOT! HOW ON EARTH AM I SUPPOSED TO ENTER SCHOOL LOOKING LIKE A CHOCOLATE GLAZED CROISSANT?

Wait? Do I have the shape of a croissant? Eww. No, that would be horror. What sexy food is there to compare myself with? Broccoli? Ugh, Amari. Broccoli is the worst of them all. Looks like someone's puke. Okay, enough about food. Let's get started on some sleep. Yay!

I was just getting comfortable in my sleep when I heard the door open and someone dragged me by the hand. Before I could even say Jack, I was standing outside the car, underneath the hot sun, in the presence of a very annoyed looking Carlson. How dare he!

"School's out, Lexington. Your sister is waiting to take you home. Off you go." Everything he said fell on deaf ears, except the words School's out. I looked around and saw students walking out in their numbers, everyone glad to be away from this building and back to their safe haven. How could school be out? About a minute ago, we still had like a period left. Right?

"No. You have to take me home. I'm not going to stain Maya's seat with chocolate when you're the cause of all these." I swept a hand over my body in slow motion. He looked nothing short of fraustrated.

"If you think I'm going in that car, then you are wrong. I have called for another car, and again, if you think I'm letting you sticky thing into that car, you are absolutely wrong, darling. You brought this upon yourself and I won't be held responsible for your gross lack of pranking skills." Woah. He just said Amaryllis Lexington, the prank Queen, has gross lack of pranking skills. Woah.

That's not all, Girl. He also called you Darling! Did you hear that? Sounds like music to my earssss.  Ugh, eww, ugh. Never will it sound my music to my ears.

"I'm not moving an inch from here, Hawthorne. If you think you can get out of this easily, you have another thing coming. I'm going to look for your house address and have a little chat with your parents. I'm going to tell them every single thing you've done to me." The humor in his eyes went off at an instant and the cold look that replaced them scared the crap out of me.

"Lexington, go home." was all he said and I found myself moving away from the car. The intensity of coldness in his eyes and voice made me feel like if I dared to disagree with him, he would shove me into a grinding mill and watch me get torn into shreds. No way I'm risking my life just to be stubborn.

"Amaryllis?"I heard and I turned to face him. The coldness was gone and was already replaced by a smirk. What a bipolar monster!

"Did you ask me to drive you home because you're eager for me to meet your parents? Let's take things slow, alright? We'll get there soon." He winked and my jaw dropped.

Parents, my foot!

"What? Are you nervous about meeting them? Scared they won't like you?" I played along, taking slow and calculated steps towardw him. The shadow of a smirk on his face materialised and I hated how my body slightly jumped. Damn his attractiveness!

"Everyone who knows me loves me, Lexington. In case you don't already know. I am well known and your parents really love me." He smirked and my mouth formed an O. Obviously they would know him and love him. He was Allison's boyfriend afterall.

For the first time, the realization that he was with Allison hit me in a strange way and it left a bitter taste in my mouth. Uh-oh!

"I totally forgot you're dating the witch. What do you even see in her? Oh wait. What am I saying? Birds of the same feather flock together." I rolled my eyes, backing off slowly.

"Are you jealous? Well, if it makes you feel better, I have no relations with your sister. She's not my type. You see, Amaryllis, I'm more into blondes," He moved closer till we were standing an inch apart from each other, "blondes with greenish blue eyes."

"Oh please" I rolled my eyes, pretending like a siren didn't just go off in my head.
