Chapter 5

V

Prozac

Zeke

I pulled up on my motorbike outside of the address Elijah had given me and I couldn't help but grin as I saw him sat on his porch, already waiting for me. His eyes widened as he realised he'd be getting on a motorbike, but I'd brought a helmet for him, so he'd be fine. He was wearing a white button down shirt and a light coloured denim jacket. He looked adorable, but he should be relieved that he wasn't in the crowds wearing that; he'd be stabbed by somebody's leather jacket spikes.

He cautiously approached and I took his hand gently, letting him watch me drag my eyes over his frame, making him blush. I grinned and took the helmet, placing it on his head and securing it in place for him by fastening the strap under his neck. I didn't want it to be wiggling about because it was too loose.

"Nice to see you, cutie. You look absolutely adorable today." I led him by the hand to my bike.

I couldn't tell if he blushed because of the helmet, but I was presuming he did (a pretty safe assumption based on his track record of blushing at least twice a minute).

Still holding onto his hand, I helped him climb onto the bike and showed him where he should place his feet. He listened attentively, but couldn't stop himself from sliding down the seat. As I climbed onto the bike, his sliding stopped as he hit my back.

He wrapped his arms around my waist and held on tight as I kicked the engine on and zipped off. It didn't take long to get there, but I will admit that I took the longer route to add a couple of minutes onto our journey. I was enjoying the way Elijah was gripping onto my waist for dear life. It was fun to scare him.

As we pulled up at the venue, the band van was already there. Jay and Dave were unloading the drums from the van. I parked and climbed off, pulling off my helmet and helping Elijah off too. As I took off his helmet, he glanced up at my face and I grinned at our close proximity. I was enjoying it very much. I could practically move a single centimetre and my lips would be pressed against his soft rosy ones. I almost did, but I was interrupted by Danny Boy slapping my back.

"Who's this?" Danny nodded at a blushing Elijah, "I'm Danny, feel free to come find me after the show and we can..."

"Danny, I'd stop flirting with Zeke's boyfriend if I were you!" Dave yelled from where he was by the van.

"Dave." I warned, "We're not together yet, but that doesn't mean he's available."

I reached behind me and took a blushing Elijah's hand, linking our fingers together. I led him inside the venue and went straight to the backstage room where a ratty, torn up sofa sat in a room that had a bunch of band names and dates written all over the wall. Elijah looked around in wonder and went closer to look at some of the band names. I grabbed a pen and threw it at him.

"Write ours up there? I've got shit handwriting." I went up to him and placed my hand on the small of his back as I also looked at some of the band names.

I recognised quite a few, but I doubt that Elijah knew any.

"What is your band name? You never told me." Elijah pointed out, glancing behind his shoulder at me.

"The Metal Youth Club." I went to my duffle bag and pulled out one of our band shirts, "Have a shirt; we have hundreds."

Elijah looked down at the shirt and smiled. On the shirt was our band name with our album art on the front. It was a cool drawing that Jay had done of all of us; an outline drawing of each of us playing on stage. It was funny because you could make out each of us pretty well but Dave looked crazy with his giant hair and spikes everywhere. Elijah pulled his jacket off and I held it for him whilst he pulled the shirt over his button down, taking his jacket back after. Surprisingly, it went with his outfit pretty well. Not to mention, he looked hot in my bands merch.

"We've got about fifteen minutes to chill before I have to go do soundcheck." I grinned at him, flopping down on the sofa and patting the space next to me, "Let's get to know each other?"

Elijah laughed and sat down next to me, his thighs touching mine. His laugh was truly sweet. I wanted him to laugh again as soon as he let me hear it. It made butterflies hatch in my stomach and I lost my breath as his eyes lit up with joy. He was slowly becoming more comfortable around me and I was rapidly falling for him; the more I found out about him, the more I wanted to find out. It was intoxicating and addictive.

By the end of our fifteen minutes, Elijah was a lot more at ease with not only me but his situation: being around the band before our concert. I went off to do my soundcheck and Elijah came and sat in a randomly placed armchair on the side of the stage. He watched me intently as we mucked around during sound check. Jay had gone outside and apparently people were queueing to come in already; we only have another half an hour until doors would open.

"So what do you do now?" Elijah asked as I approached him, helping him up from the tattered arm chair.

"Now we eat." Dave grinned, answering for me as he handed me a box of pizza of our own.

Elijah's eyes looked relieved as he looked at the pizza box and I shook my head with a smile, going back to the sofa and flopping down again with Elijah next to me. He must be hungry. I popped open a beer and offered Elijah one but he declined, opting for a pizza slice instead.

We all sat around, joking and talking for the next half an hour whilst we ate and Elijah was easing up around everyone, despite playing with my fingers when he got nervous. I, obviously, found it to be absolutely adorable. Whenever I used my hand for something, he would grab it back again the second I was done, making me sport a goofy smile the entire time. He was adorable.
