πŸŒ™24|Frustrations

Moon Lovers βœ“

Scattering everything from the table on to the floor, the books and flower vases fell all over the place. "You're Adrian too? You were using me all this while!" I screamed, scattering the leftovers from the table to the floor. Crashing sounds followed after the vases fell and broke inti several pieces. Turning to him angrily, he run his fingers in his hair.

"I can explain that too," he muttered trying to get closer. With a short laugh, I nodded and traced his eyes.

"Tell me then! Why did you disguise yourself all this while? Do you know how guilty I felt about it. But you?" I complained. For a moment, u could hold myself from standing still. I  moved back when he took a step forward to me.

"I didn't change my name. Adrian's also my name. I had to do it. Let me explain first," he assured in cogitation. Laughing, I threw my eyes around in hesitation before turning to him again.

"You still lied. Not only about being in the same school with me, but about being a vampire too. You lied about everything!" I laughed turning to a disguise mask on the table.

Looking at the curves and edges, I understood pretty clear how he was able to pull this through without anyone suspecting. "Yes. I admit that. But I can explain everything. I wanted to tell you, but I found out something," he pleaded.

"You're going to bring up more lies right? I can't believe I trusted you too! Don't come near me. I've seen enough. Thanks for making a fool out of me. I'll take it as we're even," I said. Forcing a smile, I slammed the door and raced towards the woods' exit. As tears run down my face, I wiped it with my arm and kept on walking away.

"Clara wait!" he yelled chasing after me. I took to my heels while turning back in tears. My feet refused to move any further after hearing his callings. After lowering my head to cover my teary face, I wondered why was my life full of secrets, lies and deceit. Everything crumbled down before immediately mom died. Nothing was the same anymore.

Could I even trust anyone in my life?I was all alone coping with my own problems and had no one to share with. The only one I believed in was throwing dust in my eyes.

Running along the empty woods, my phone beeped in my bag. Wiping my tears, I took it out from my bag and unlocked the screen to pick the call. "Clara? Can we meet?" Turning back, I saw Max standing behind me. He stopped walking when he saw me picking a call.

"Alright. Where?" Sighing, Janessa replied right after. "I'll text you the location. Be careful on your way." I nodded and cut the call. "Can we talk?" I stared back at him rolling my tongue. "I don't want to. I have somewhere to go."

Without much of a choice, he swallowed a gulp and sighed. "Alright. What about at school tomorrow?" Twisting my head slightly, I took in a deep breath. "I don't care. Do whatever you want!" After dropping my phone in my bag, I looked up into the sky for one last time before walking out of the woods.

It took about an hour to catch a taxi to wherever we had to meet. Exposing the message to the driver, he nodded and sparked the engine ready to leave. I sighed and dropped myself at the front seat looking out as he drove. The street lights were all turned on and lined up across the streets. When I spotted a little girl clinging to a young woman's hand, my eyes stared to tear up.

"Mom! I want that ice cream. Please!" she repeatedly said shaking her mother's hand up from where she stood. With a smile, her mother nodded and walked with her to the ice cream vendor.

I don't remember the last time mom ever gave in to my childish demands. I wonder how this felt like. After moving my head away from the window, I closed my eyes and put ear piece in my ears. As the driver drove, I opened my eyes and saw a familiar car driving behind us.

That's weird. This same car was parked at the bus station. How come it's behind us? Taking off one earpiece, I looked into the car mirror to check the driver. But as we approached the traffic light, the cars honked behind to stop. When the traffic cleared, the cars quickly soared and sped off.  I didn't see that car behind us anymore.

In no time, I heard the car stop by at a restaurant. "We're here miss!" the driver exclaimed. I nodded and opened the door to step out. It was probably an hour drive from my home. Why did she ask me to meet her here?

Sighing, I took that earpiece off of my ears and walked into the restaurant. It was a cozy dark restaurant with few customers. Looking around, I could guess she wanted her privacy.

As I looked around cluelessly for her, a waiter walked up to me with a smile. "Are you Clara Dickson?" I nodded quickly. He directed me to a separate room at the back, quite far from the other customers. From the entrance, I could see it was a VIP seat booked up.

Looking up in amazement, I realized that she was richer than I thought. There were security guards at the end of the room throwing critical gazes around the room.

"Have a seat please?" I nodded and took a seat when I saw her sitting down with some sunglasses. She took them off when she saw me approaching her.

"It's great you made it. I couldn't contact the police officer. Could you forward it to him as soon as possible?"

I nodded and turned to a pile of documents she took out from a suitcase on the floor. "What's this?" She sighed and turned to me with a serious face.

"Those are your dad's documents as a worker in the hospital. He asked for a sudden acquittance during his early popular years. That was around when you were a baby."

Taking them from her, I looked through quickly flipping them page after page. "Why? Did he tell you why he left when his term in the hospital was at its apex?" She lowered her eyes and shook her head.

"Your parents never told me that. Here's also Ian's illegal transaction documents from patients' loved ones  to save their dying wards. Your mother collected all these herself. I also detected that he invested this money in building Beverly Hills. He'll need this to arrest Mrs. Kimberly and capture him too."

Folding my lips, I raised my hand to collect them. But as my fingers felt the documents, I heard a gun shot. Turning to Janessa, I let out a loud scream, rushing to her side. Shot in the heart, I saw a hoodied man sitting on a motorcycle.

"Aunt!" I screamed calling out for help. The security guards rushed over, but one of them pushed me on the floor and took the documents along. "Catch him! Someone please call the ambulance," I cried holding on to her. An ambulance stopped by and rushed to pick her up.

"Y-You must survive," she said holding on to my hand with short breaths. I shook my head as the doctors laid het on the stretcher. My heart dropped when she let go off my hand. "Aunt!" Thr doctors covered her with a blanket and shook their heads. "She's dead. Take her to the hospital!"

Falling on my knees, I didn't notice the motorcycle nor the security guard who took the files. In tears, I sobbed watching them take her away.

Walking lazily along the hallway in the school, my eyes flickered at each step. Students walked in a few minutes later rushing to their classes.  After dropping my bag on the table, I saw Jess, Tricia, Catherine and Adrian...or whatever his name was present too. Mrs Plum walked in making noises with her heels.

"So class, we'll be having a group work. This week you'll be grouped according to your sitting position. Jess and Peter, Brianna and James, Lucy and Genevieve, Catherine and Nathan, Clara and Adrian Max. So that will be all," she declared before modeling to her seat.

Did I hear right? Paired up with him? No way! After everything that went on yesterday, I was in no mood to work, much less work with him? I thought turning towards him.

"The project will be on relationship building in society. Marks will be awarded to the best, so you have to spend 2 hours after school with your partner," she explained writing something on the board.

"Class is over. Don't forget to do the project!" she reminded before walking out of the class after grabbing her bag.

I started packing quickly not able to stand being cooped up in the class. I must find that jerk who killed her and get those documents back. Immediately I got up to walk out, someone pulled me back.

"Clara. Please we need to talk," Adrian pleaded. I stared at him angrily jerking off my hand. "We'll do the project online, I'll send my opinion on relationships there."

Out of the blue, someone pushed Adrian from behind making him lose balance a bit. My eyes widened when I realized who it was.

"How dare you touch her?! I'll not spare you," Nathan yelled about to punch him again when he grabbed his hand. "What's with you? What's your problem?" Laughing, he turned to him. " You. Stay away from her!"

"Stop it!" I screamed standing in between them. My face was raging as both of them were panting with hurt faces. Holding back my tears, I turned to both of them angrily.

"What is wrong with you two? I'm not an object you can acquire okay. I just lost a friend to have time to waste here. Step out of my way."  Nathan pointed to Adrian shaking his head.  "He started it." I lowered my eyes rolling my tongue in desperation. "I DON'T CARE! Leave me out of this!" I demanded before scurrying outside.

My phone kept on ringing but I didn't pick up. I locked the door immediately I got home. "What is it?" I asked picking up mom's necklace from the floor.

"Can we meet at the park?" Jess requested on the phone. "Can it wait?" Hearing the negativity in her tone, I sighed and assured her before cutting the call.

Wonder how to open this diary, I thought stepping out of my house. When I got to the locker room, I saw someone in a black shirt standing by my locker.

As I got closer, I realized that it wasn't Jess but Nathan. "Please let's talk," Nathan said in a remorseful tone

"So you used Jess to get me here?" I asked rolling my eyes. "That doesn't matter," he started but I raised my hand.

"Listen up. We have absolutely.... nothing to talk about," I alluded  stepping back after a moment. "Did you ever love me? Give me a chance,"he asked.

I looked down folding my lips in desperation. I nodded while holding up my tears.

"Yes. I did. But not the way you wanted it." With this, I took off a watch he gave me on my previous birthday and enclosed it in his hands.

"What do you see in that guy?! I'm better than him!" I frowned raising my head to look at him.

"At this point in my life, I don't want to talk to anyone. I want to be alone! Leave me alone, okay?!" I retorted walking out on him.

I stopped for a minute and turned to him slowly with a test gliding down my cheek.

"And stop using my friends," I added with a fake smile plastered on my face. The sun was setting and getting darker. In a haste, I rushed to get my books into the locker. My phone beeped with a message. Running my hands through my bag, I took it out and read the message in a haste.

Moving backwards, the message read over in my ears. Staring at the picture of Janessa with a red cross over it, the message read in my again.

"Dig in more dirt and someone dies. Just return the items before more people around you die."
