Chapter 11

Forbidden

Rough Drafts: A Collection Of Badly Written Short Stories and Poems

The forbidden fruits of us will continue to regrow

when a mutual interest fertilizes every harvest

Our crops survive in every season,

for death is not known to the constant cravings of our companionship.

I leave the door cracked just enough,

for us to reach through and barely touch,

ignoring the warning signs of the end times.

Fire and temptation and gnashing of teeth

lie between the frame.

My secrets are under heavy lock and key,

left untold for the safety of the wildflowers in my company.
