Chapter 12
Mr George, Don't Be So Arrogant
Riley stared at Euan and Lydia as she smiled bitterly. She quickly changed her expression from sour to indifferent before someone else could see it.
Hendrix took a glass of wine from a waiterâs tray. He observed Rileyâs reaction from afar.
He was shocked and confused to see how indifferent she was even after seeing her husband hugging another woman.
But his confusion only lasted for a few seconds. When he looked up again, he saw Riley storming towards Euan!
Hendrix put one hand on the food rack and held the wine glass with his other. He looked apathetic yet elegant.
He wanted to see what Riley was going to do.
The wound on Rileyâs knee reopened and she could feel a sharp pain throughout her leg. The pain then spread towards her body. She felt like strangling Euan and Lydia to relieve her pain!
Euan and Lydia were surrounded by people and they didnât notice Riley. The guests didnât know who Riley was, but they let her through as she was emitting killing intent.
She didnât want to just expose their adultery and thought of an idea to make the night more interesting.
Hendrix noticed that Riley turned away and left the crowd!
What was she planning to do?
In the midst of the crowd, Riley walked swiftly pass them and disappeared around a corner.
Euan who was surrounded by the crowd squinted his eyes. He thought he saw someone familiar just now. It felt more familiar the more he stared.
He wanted to look more clearly but he couldnât see the person anymore.
Riley walked through the merry crowd and took a deep breath as she stood behind a Roman pillar. She lifted her skirt and noticed that the blood was seeping through the bandage on her knee. Her wound had worsened.
There were waitresses constantly walking pass the corridors next to her. Riley lowered her head and quickly walked towards the stairs. She avoided the surveillance camera and walked down one floor.
If she remembered correctly, this was the place.
And she was right. Riley smiled.
The brightly lit hall suddenly turned pitch black! All the lights went out!
Noises of glasses being shattered, and tables being overthrown could be heard. The guests were yelling, and the female guests were screaming.
There was a huge commotion in the hall!
âEveryone, calm down! Itâs just a power failure! Stay where you are and wait for the workers to fix the issue!â
âDonât panic! Donât panic!â
âStay where you are! Itâs just a temporary outage!â
The workers of the MBK Entertainment Center were yelling on the top of their lungs trying to calm the customers down. But the scene was already way too chaotic, there was at least a few hundreds of people in the hall and they were all howling at each other uncontrollably!
Some guests took out their phone and turned on the flashlight. The white floor was stained with wine and it was a mess. Shattered wine glasses were also all over the floor.
âEuan! Euan!â
Lydia hugged her arms around Euanâs neck amid the chaos. Euan glanced at her in the dark and calmly grasped her thin wrist. He then moved her arms away, âIâll go see whatâs up.â
Lydia didnât think that Euan would abandon her like that, she was embarrassed and angry at the same time, âBut Euan, Iâm scared...â
Euan frowned, âGet out of the hall if youâre scared.â
âI...â
Just when Lydia was about to talk, Euan turned around and left, walking into the darkness.
Euan grimaced, he thought about the familiar figure he saw just now. Was that her?
Hendrix smiled brightly the moment the lights went out. He thought Riley was chickening out just now and was going to just take it, but she had a greater plan in mind.
Dr Watson, you were so cool!
Hendrix left the hall swiftly amid the chaos and went downstairs.
But Riley wasnât outside of the control room. The control room was filled with workers trying to get things to work again.
âThe wire was cut off, itâs going to be hard to reconnect it.â
âI donât care how hard it is, just fix it! The guests today are important people, we cannot afford to offend them.â
âOkay, weâll try our best.â
Hendrix smiled contently hearing the electricianâs conversation. Job well done, Riley.
Euan walked out the main building passing through the revolving glass door. He looked around searching for the âcriminalâ. He was glaring so hard, it was as if he could cut people into halves with that sharp gaze of his.
Outside the parking lot.
Riley stood in front of Euanâs black Roles-Royce. She crossed her arms and stood in front of the car. She then took out a lipstick from her bag and opened the lid slowly. After that, she started drawing in full seriousness on the windscreen...
Euan, you asshole. How dare you brought Lydia the wench to a public banquet?
Riley couldnât tell if she was feeling anger or pain. The scene of Lydia lying in Euanâs arm kept emerging in her mind. Her heart ached as if something had sliced through her heart.
It wasnât just pain that she felt, she also felt helpless.
She was his wife! His wife!
Suddenly, she heard clapping sound coming from yonder. She stopped drawing and looked up. It was Hendrix and he was lying against the car door.
âRiley, that was amazing. I respect you,â said Hendrix as he smirked. The expression on his handsome and young face was of a common smug look belonging to a rich young master.
Riley scoffed, âYouâre not bad yourself. You found me here.â
Hendrix looked at the graffitied windscreen. He read the words out loud, âAsshole, give me back my money... Riley, well...What is this?â
Riley threw the lipstick on the ground and wiped her unsullied hand. She snickered and said, âWhy? Is this not good enough?â
Hendrix shook his head, âNope, itâs not threatening enough. The degree of revenge is not high enough.â
âOh, are you the expert now?â Riley crossed her arms and looked at him composedly, âWhat would you write then?â
Hendrix picked up the lipstick from the ground and held it between his fingers, âWell, I wouldnât write anything, but Iâll draw something on it.â
Riley stared at Hendrix silently as he drew a skull on the windscreen...
âThis is what you were planning to draw? So childish!â
Hendrix threw away the lipstick and explained himself, âIâm making it more artistic!â
Who would care about that?
Riley turned around and was going to leave. She saw Euan with his hands in his pocket. He stared at her and Hendrix coldly from afar.
The air suddenly turned colder than ice.
So cold that she could hear ice breaking and falling onto the ground.
Hendrix turned his head and met his brotherâs eyes. He cried out loud in his heart. Shit, he was caught red-handed!
Riley didnât look remorse and wasnât afraid at all. She looked at Euan right into his wintry eyes and snickered under her breath. He was looking at Lydia so lovingly just now, but he was staring at her so coldly. Euan, you sure treated me well.
âBrother, what a coincidence,â said Hendrix, trying to divert his attention. He could see in his brotherâs eyes that he was ready to tear Riley apart anytime now.
Euan glared coldly at Hendrix, âGo home!â
Hendrix was stunned, âBrother...â
âGo home!â
Riley whispered to Hendrix, âGo home. Your brother is telling you to go.â
Hendrix answered in a soft voice, âWhat will happen to you if I leave? My brother will kill you.â
Riley laughed, âHe wouldâve killed me already if he really wanted to.â
Euan was boiling in anger seeing the two whispering to each other. He pointed his finger at Hendrix and commanded, âHendrix, go home.â
Euan was getting aggressive and Hendrix didnât dare to disobey him. He gulped in fear and said, âIâll...Iâll go now.â
Hendrix gritted his teeth. He wanted to say something for Riley, but being surrounded by two timebombs, anything he said would cause an explosion right now.
Hendrix knew his place and left them alone.
Riley slightly lifted her head to observe the expression in Euanâs eyes.
Anger, coldness, and threatening to kill.
âYou sure are gutsy,â said Euan. There were double meanings behind his words. He said each word loud and clearly and they pierced through Rileyâs heart like an arrow.
Riley wasnât going to cave in, âIâm not as gutsy as you, Mr. George. Showing off your mistress in public, you sure have no fear.â
Her sarcasm was cold and indifferent as if she was just another spectator.
Euan clenched his fist, he wanted to punch Riley in the face.
âAre you jealous?â
Euan squinted at Riley, trying to look for a hint of jealousy on her face, but to no avail. The only expressions on Rileyâs face were bliss after revenge and her usual mocking face. There wasnât a third emotion.
âWhy should I get jealous, Mr. George?â
Euan walked closer to her and every step he took made the pressure in the atmosphere go up one bar. The air was getting thinner and Riley found it hard to breathe.
Euan grabbed Rileyâs chin with his slender finger and said, âYouâre not jealous? Then why go through all the trouble to cut the power?â
The streetlights shone on Rileyâs nicely shaped face. He could see the stubbornness and indifferent in her eyes, she was emotionless and cold. Riley laughed, âThere wasnât any trouble at all, it was an easy operation.â
Euan was angered to the max!

Riley thought that he was going to punch or slap her, and she would faint from it. But to her surprise, nothing happened. He was so angry that she could see his veins popping and his face red from being furious.
But even so, he didnât hit her.
She was surprised, but also not surprised at the same time.
Well, why would Euan care to hit someone who was a nobody to him?
Riley slowly reached out her hand and touched his arm. She knew that Euan hated it when she touched him. But tonight, she just wanted to make him mad, âMr. George, your beautiful mistress is still waiting for you inside. Why donât you go back to her?â
Beautiful mistress? She had to be talking about Lydia.
âYou dare claim that you werenât jealous?â said Euan as he inched his handsome face closer to her. Riley inched backwards as he came closer.
âWhy should I? Oh right, I was elated, looking at the mistress in your arms. I...â
Before Riley could finish her sarcasm, Euan pressed his hot lips on hers! She couldnât say another word!
He didnât want to hear another word from her!
Riley was driving him crazy!
âLet...!â
Riley struggled as she punched and kicked him. But Euan pressed his large stature on her and forcefully invaded her body!
