Chapter 44
Millionaire's Hot Secretary
Squinting my eyes at her, I opened the door wider and let her walk in.
She walked towards Hames, swaying her hips. If it made any sense, she was swaying her hips excessively and I didn't like that.
I shut the door then sauntered to stand in front of Hames, folding my arms across my chest. After casting a glare at the woman who was now beside me, "may I know what sort of business you have with her?" I asked.
"I don't think it's any of your business, Imogen." He replied crankily.
My face contorted pretty bad. "It's my business because I'm your wife, and secondly your secretary."
"Oh no, it's not that kind of business. It's a personal business." He smiled at the woman (a smile I hadn't received today).
"Who are you and what business do you have with my husband?" I asked her instead.
"I'm Lucie Babin. I'mâ"
"Lucie, you don't have to give her an answer. Please come." He extended his hand to her.
She returned his smile, stretching her hand to lace her fingers with his.
Effortlessly, he pulled her closer to him and made her sit on his lap.
A gasp left me and my jaw dropped to the floor. "Whâwhat's going on here?" I managed to speak.
"I don't feel the need to give you an answer but I'll let you know that a few months before I got married to you, I was a playboy." He brushed her hair away from her face, gently rubbing her cheek with the back of his finger which made her giggle, crossing one of her legs over the other (smooth skin show off!)
I felt an explosion happen inside me and my brain began to throb. My heart went wild in anger. I thought he claimed to have loved me for two years. "Two years? Liar." I scoffed.
"I know I said I've loved you for two years but I'm a man, and needed to get rid of my frustrations. If my wife doesn't appreciate my efforts after our marriage then I guess I'll return to my old ways." Lucie held his shoulders, giggling and blushing. "You're so beautiful."
My fists had clenched to the point of my fingernails almost digging into my skin. How dare he call another woman beautiful in my presence?
"Thank you so much. You're way handsome too. You're damn hot and make me feelâ¦" she trailed off, bit her lower lip flirtatiously, shut her eyes and moaned after exhaling. "Gosh, I can't explain."
"Wow, such an amazing voice. Your French accent compliments your extremely beautiful self. I've never met any woman more beautiful than you."
"This is inappropriate." I said through gritted teeth, feeling the need to smash glasses. I felt like a bomb that could blast anytime soon.
"Why? Are you jealous?" Hames asked with a smug smile.
"Jealous?" I scoffed. "Why on Earth would I be jealous?"
"Then you won't mindâ¦" he pecked her cheek while she wrapped her arms around him. My blood boiled to 3000°C, I could feel it.
"Hames," my body began to vibrate with anger. I was feeling insulted and didn't like it.
"You're not jealous, you shouldn't be at all. It's not like you mind, right? Could you please give us some privacy?" He held her waist, tracing lines on her arm. "You can go to Faith's hotel room. I've got serious business here with someone who would appreciate the slightest thing I do."
I breathed furiously. "Yeah, you're right. I don't care, not at all. You're nothing but a big jerk and I care less about you or whoever you choose to spend your time with. I was about to leave anyway." I huffed again and took my leave, slamming the door.
"Stupid Hames." How could he even think of bringing a woman to have fun with in our hotel room, on our honeymoon? Oh, how much he loves his wife.
I banged on Faith's hotel room door, holding my waist afterwards and panting furiously. My breath seemed to have gone due to the excessive degree of rage my body was experiencing.
Faith opened the door with a confused face. "Uh⦠hi. Is there anything you want? You could've called me over."
"Will you please let me in?" I wanted to ask that politely but it came out in the opposite way.
"Sure thing." She stepped backwards for me to step in.
"Is there any problem? You seem very angry. Have I done anything wrong?" She asked with worry evident in her tone and face.
~ HAMES HENDRIX ~
The moment Imogen slammed the door, I cast a glare at Lucie. "Get off me." I spat.
She jerked off my lap, adjusting her skirt. "Did I do it well?" She winked, taking a seat opposite me.
I didn't reply to her because I didn't feel the need to. I was too interested in Imogen. I hoped Kade's plan wasn't going to make me regret my actions.
"Remember the deal; if she hits me, I'd be paid triple."
"Yeah, whatever." I nodded, took my phone and called Kade.
"Sup, how did things turn out to be? Was she jealous?"
"I guess so. She angrily left."
"Jealousy; it's one of the signs of love. I knew she'd love you soon, else she won't be Lucie How angry did she seem? Did Lucie play her role well enough?"
"Yes, she did. Imogen was really furious. Lucie played her role well enough, a little too perfect." I glanced at Lucie who smiled proudly.
"That's great! Pay her well, I already gave her half of the payment."
"Yeah. I think her job is done."
"No, not yet. You might need her a little longer. Imogen has to get to the peak of her anger till she confesses stuff."
"Are you sure this would work? She doesn't seem to love me so much till the point of confessing things."
"You know she loves you, right? Whether or not it's just a bit?"
"I guess so."
"Then it'd work out. How else did you think I had Jovi as mine completely? I made her so jealous. I'm a professional at these relationship stuff, dude."
"Fine, fine, I'll take the advice from the Master."
"Don't forget to help me check out my project over there. And yeah, your creepy other best friend was here."
"Amanda?" I laughed. "She's your best friend too."
"Nah, not as much as she's yours. She's still creepy though. And of course, Jovi doesn't like her."
Jovi was such a drama queen. "I'll help you out with your project. I decided not to work at all but guess who's ruining that aim?"
He laughed. "Bye, I've got a girlfriend to deal with. Jeez, womenâ¦" The call ended.
I glanced at Lucie. "You might have to stay a little longer."
"I know. If I leave so soon, she'll be suspicious. According to Kade, I'd carry out the big game tomorrow."
"Okay. Please don't speak to me starting now, I have to work." I rose from my feet.
'My sweet wife, you better let this end soon. I want to kiss you so much right now.'

"Is anything wrong? You aren't paying attention to the movie."
"You're my maid. It's nothing."
"It doesn't seem like nothing to me. I'm your friend, right? You can share your problems with me too. As your 'personal' maid, I can give you advice regarding your personal life. I'm trustworthy, my old employers can testify to that."
I didn't want to let her know but she could be of help to vent out my frustration at the moment. I didn't want to call Lila or Nikita.
"I might've offended Hames by not letting him know I appreciated his effort."
"Yesterday's romantic effort?" She widened her eyes.
"Yes." I said through gritted teeth, disliking her interruption. "He got angry then now, he has a stupid woman in our hotel room who is almost naked, she sat on his lap and he tagged her as personal business or whatever. I'm so pissed off right now. He said I shouldn't be jealous because I don't love him but it makes no sense. I don't have to love him back to be jealous."
I almost forgot I was talking to my maid till she chuckled. "I think he's right."
"What?" I glowered.
"I see it's a one-sided love marriage, cute! Anyway, you must definitely love someone if you're jealous of them being with someone else. If you don't, you won't care at all." She shrugged.
"He has no right to cheat on me."
"He must've been really angry. Did you apologize or let him know it was a joke?"
"He didn't let me,"
"You should give him a while to calm down then apologize and let him know how much you love him."
I didn't want to stress myself out by arguing against her last words so I returned my gaze to the screen. "I will, but I don't think I want to see that bitch or anything stupid right now so let's just watch tons of movies."
"If things still don't work out well for you, you can always pray to God for a way out, you know."
"Pray to God," I smirked. "You sound so much like my mother." Mia would've given me the same piece of advice.
I needed to cool the fire in me now then have a good talk with my so-called husband.
