9 | A SPECIAL NECKLACE
WAR OF HEARTS • hayley marshall
Khalia Mikaelson was busy draining yet another person when she finally had enough of the two vampires following her. She knew it was Marcel's vampires. So, she quickly sped to both of the vampires and grabbed them, not bothered to hide her abilities in the dark club she was in. The two vampires yelped and struggled but she only tightened her grip and sped of to the Compound.
"Marcel!" The brunette yelled when she entered her former home and threw the two vampires to the floor. Said man appeared infront of her in a flash. "Why is Beavis and Butthead following me around?" The was a sweet smile on her face but Marcel knew that he would be in trouble if she didn't like what left his mouth.
"Give me a minute." Was all the much younger vampire said before he sped of to God knows where. The two vampires where still laying on the floor and with a roll of her eyes, she waved them away with her hands. They didn't hesitate to speed away.
Marcel returned a few seconds later and held out a newspaper to her. Khalia raised her eyebrows, as if to say, 'really?'. Her brother's sireling sighed in frustration, "Just read it." She let her eyes roll again before she plucked the paper out of his hands.
MASS MURDERER STRIKES NEW ORLEANS.
In the time span of two weeks, our beloved city had become a nest for a murderer. There had been several reports of people going missing and bodies drained of blood showing up everywhere, mostly in nightclubs.
According to the NOLA-PD, there has been over three hundred deaths and the number just keeps rising. When asked what they are going to about it, they answered with no comment. But they are, however, urging citizens to stay at home.
This is a truely horrifying time in our city and we hope and pray with all of our hearts that whoever is responsible for these deaths will stop. Families are being torn apart and people are losing loved ones.
The Mikaelson girl only flashed through the long article and when she was done she held out the newspaper back to Marcel. She crossed her arms over her chest. "So, what?" She asked, not caring about the article and not even fazed about it. The female only looked bored.
Marcel grit his teeth, "You need to stop this, people are getting suspicious and tourists numbers are falling. Fast." The girl had the audacity to yawn and that's when Marcel snapped. And that's also when he did the stupidest thing of his life. He grabbed Khalia by the neck and sped her against the wall. But her back had barely touched the wall before she overpowered the male and swapped their positions, her hand wrapped tightly around his throat. She glared at him, her eyes wild and murderous. In that moment, Marcel had never feared more for his life than right now.
"Listen, and listen closely," She spat, her voice dangerously low. "I don't give two fucks about the tourist or humans. To me, they're just food. So, either you deal with it, or I will kill you. And I don't care if Klaus has a problem with it, he can go fuck himself. Got it?" Marcel nodded as best he could, he couldn't talk because her grip was to tight. "Good." She said, nodding to herself.
"Oh, and if you ever put your hands on me again, I will give you a slow and painful death. Are we clear?" He nodded again and Khalia smirked. She almost let him go, almost, but then she got an even better idea. The girl turned her hand and snapped his neck. She let finally let him go and he fell to the floor with a loud 'thump' sound.
With her smirk in place, she strolled out of the Compound, vampires speeding out of her way as she passed them.

It was daylight when she returned to the plantation. And, no, she didn't kill anyone else. After much thought about it, she realised that Marcel was right. But she would rather be staked with the white oak stake before she admits it. Instead, she just walked around town and took in what she missed in the decades that she and her family was gone.
Inside the house, Khalia's eyebrows shot to the roof. Her brothers was sitting across from each other, each reading a book of his own. There was a dead girl in a table, dripping onto a two hundred year old carpet. The girl eyed the carpet, knowing that her blonde sister will have plenty to say about the stain.
"Why do I have nerds for brothers?" The craziest Mikaelson asked retorically, before gesturing to the dead girl, "What is this?"
"A piece offering." Klaus answered simply as Elijah's disapproving gaze trailed over his eldest sister's blood soaked form.
"What did you do?" He asked her with narrowed eyes. She turned to him and that burning feeling shot through her when she saw him, but it didn't take her over like before.
"Exactly what I said I would. I killed some people." She answered him, completely unbothered by his disapproving gaze. A thought crossed her mind and she turned to get Hybrid brother, "And I also killed Marcel."
Klaus shot up from his seat and glared at his sister, "You what?" He seethed and she rolled her eyes.
"Down boy," She teased with a smirk, making Elijah purse his lips to keep him from laughing. "I only snapped his neck." When Klaus continued to glared at her, she got irritated and started to glare back. "Not that I need explain myself, but because you're my brother, I will. Two of his minions was following me around. I got tired of it and went to the compound to ask him why. Long story short, he attacked me and I snapped his neck."
"In that case, I'll let it slide." Khalia rolled her eyes at her brother's words, knowing that he wouldn't do anything to her. He couldn't dagger her, she hid it in a very safe place, far from his reach. And he couldn't beat her in a fight either - the fact that he's stronger than she is doesn't really matter.
"Well, I'm going to shower. I'm filthy." On her way out, she spotted her sister, about to enter the living room. "Hey Bex, try not to lose your marbles when you go in there." Khalia advised and the blondes eyebrows furrowed in confusion but before she could ask her sister anything, the girl was already by the stairs.
On her way to her room, the vampire bumped into the pregnant werewolf. Not literally though. Khalia just stared at the girl - lust and desire filling her. Hayley was dressed in a nightgown that showed her plenty and was enough for the vampire to want to just rip it of and make Hayley scream her name loud enough for all of New Orleans to hear.
Hayley's mood brightened when she saw the vampire and she immediately smiled at the girl, but it dimmed when she saw the blood. "Are you okay?" She asked in concern.
"It's not mine." Khalia's answer was simple and short. It was also a little rude. Putting her lust and desire for the girl aside, the vampire was still a little pissed at the werewolf for smiling at her brother. She wasn't supposed to smile at him, only her. Realising where her thoughts was heading, the Mikaelson shook her head and made her way to her room without another word in Hayley's direction.
Half an hour later, Khalia was making her way down the stairs. She was busy putting her damp hair in a messy bun. Her outfit was denim shorts, showing of her model-like legs, and a light blue spaghetti strapped top, showing of her figure as it clung to her body tightly, but not to tightly. Her shoes was a pair of navy pumps.
And a necklace with a ring on it that she never takes off.
Entering the kitchen, her eyes darkened in anger and the burning feeling was in her chest again. Hayley and Elijah was talking and standing way to near each other for her liking. The werewolf was in the process of lifting a spoon filled with cereal and milk to her mouth when she saw Khalia. The spoon fell out of her hand and to the floor with a clattering sound - cereal and milk staining the floor. Some of the milk also stained the legs of Elijah's pants.
Hayley's eyed was wide and her mouth was slackened. Her mouth went dry at the sight of the Mikaelson girl. Khalia saw this and smirked, feeling a little better because of the reaction that she got out of the girl, but the anger she was feeling was still coursing through her veins. And it was for that reason that she ignored both her brother and the werewolf. The vampire walked to the refrigerator and took out the bottle of apple juice she bought for herself. She drank a few gulps of it before she closed both the bottle and the refrigerator.
The vampire girl then formed a plan in her head to see if Hayley likes Elijah. She went to the drawer and took out a spoon before she walked to Hayley and took the tub of ice cream infront of the werewolf. "Mind if I sit?" Khalia asked, breaking the silence that fell upon the kitchen since she entered the room, gesturing to the counter space besides Hayley with the spoon.
The werewolf grinned, happy that the girl was talking to her again. It was hard to keep up with her mood swings, but she was clinging on to Klaus and Rebekah's advice. She would push through. "No, you can sit." Hayley answered with flushed cheeks and Khalia gave her a small smile before she hoped onto the counter, right next to the Marshall girl.
Both girls munched happily on their respective dishes - Khalia on her ice cream and Hayley on her cereal. "So, back to the murderous witches. I have some concerns." Elijah said, making Khalia's head snap up so fast that it would have give the Flash whiplash. What the hell did she miss when she was gone?
"Explain that sentence to me. Now." She demanded, all trace of playfulness and teasing done. She placed down the ice cream and hopped of the counter. Elijah opened his mouth, probably to give his sister a snarky answer but the look of seriousness on her face made him forget it and just be serious like he always is.
So, he gave her a short summary of what he told his siblings and Hayley yesterday evening when she was out that he learned from Davina. In the end, Khalia was pissed that she was lied to, but didn't mind it that much. It meant that the witches wasn't really interested in the werewolf and her baby, but she still want to kill the witches for threatening the pregnant girl in the first place.
"So, we unlink Hayley and kill them all. Only problem is, I don't know how to unlink her." Khalia said as she started pacing. Hayley watched the girl and frown when she called her by her name. It hasn't even been that long and she was all ready use to Khalia calling her 'sweetheart'.
"They're evil. And, my life is still magically linked to Sophie Deveraux, which is not comforting." Hayley said, her tone worried and Khalia stopped pacing and scowled dangerously. If before, she didn't like witches, now she hates them.
"Yes, I think it's time we took care of that little problem." Elijah told the two girls but immediately regretted his words when he saw his sister's face. It was a look that Kol, Khalia and Klaus shared. It was one he would never forget. The look they get when they are plotting something against someone. Seconds later, the twin girl opened her mouth and it was what Elijah feared.
"We could torture and kill the other witches until Sophie breaks the link between her and Hayley." Khalia suggested and Elijah sighed just as Rebekah suddenly enters the kitchen, dragging the corpse of the girl Klaus killed across the floor behind her.
"I am all for it. As soon as they're unlinked, we get to leave this crap town. Who do we have to kill?" The blonde agreed with her sister and Khalia grinned widely.
"Please do not encourage her." The dark haired man requested of his youngest sister, making Kol's twin huff. "And to answer Rebekah's question, probably no one."
"You're no fun sometimes." The elder girl in the room complain, stubbornly crossing her arms over her chest, glaring at the wall. "Actually, you're not fun all of the time." Khalia corrected while Hayley gives Elijah a significant look of disbelief. Elijah rolls his eyes and sighs.
"Alright, potentially everyone." Elijah eventually caved. He turned around and left the kitchen, leaving Khalia and Hayley behind.
"Hallelujah." Khalia said in a single song voice, grinning manically. A bubble of laughter passed Hayley's lips and Khalia turned to her with a raised eyebrow.
"What?" She asked the werewolf.
"Nothing." Hayley said, smiling the whole way through - making Khalia believe that it was something but she wasn't going to push it and ruin her good mood.
***
I know, I suck at writing an article. Which is weird considering I'm not half bad at writing stories. Anyways, the parts up there is just the parts that Khalia read.
Also, ship names for Khalia and Hayley please. I think I saw one, but I can't remember where it is.
I hope you enjoyed the chapter.
