Chapter 24

21 | LITTLE WITCH, LITTLE BITCH

WAR OF HEARTS • hayley marshall

A while later, Khalia was summoned to the living room by her brother Klaus. Apparently, Davina left the compound and now she has to help them find her. In all honesty, the twin girl doesn't really want to find her - good or bad, she doesn't like witches. The brunette Mikaelson walked into the room, pushing her conversation with Hayley to the back of her mind for the moment. Her expression soured when she layed eyes on Marcel. Her blonde brother might have forgiven him for trying to over throw them, like it was even possible, but she hasn't. Her ability to hold a grudge is breathtaking.

"You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to know the obvious. Our secret weapon has escaped." Klaus said as Khalia's gaze zeroed in on the table with booze.

"No, you don't. However, the real question is, where the fuck is she?" The Original female spoke as she inspected the booze and her nose pulled up in disgust as all she found was bourbon. "Klaus, where is my Vodka?"

"In the kitchen, cupboard next to the refrigerator." The Hybrid answered his younger sister automatically.

Marcel shot them an annoyed glance. How could they not take this seriously? "She wouldn't just leave. She knows the witches want her back."

"Look, Marcel, not to rain on your perfect image of that little pest, but she is more than capable of making her own decisions and you need to face the fact that maybe, just maybe, she decided to leave by herself." The Demon Mikaelson said bluntly, much to the displeasure of Marcel.

Elijah appears from around the corner, and Marcel turns towards him while Khalia quickly speeds to and from the kitchen, a bottle of vodka in her hand when she returned. Elijah shot her a glance, but didn't say anything. "Her violin is missing. She may have left of her own volition."

"What did you say to her in the attic? She lied to my face so she could stay up there, thinking that you'd help her control her magic. How do we know you didn't take her?" Khalia took a long pull of the bottle as she listen to Marcel freak out. Her eyes rolled heavenward.

"I have no idea where Davina is, or why she ran away. Can I suggest you take a step back?" The dark haired male told the much younger vampire and Khalia smirked, Elijah was much more vicious that he appeared. Like she said, he just happened to bother hiding it, while the rest of them doesn't.  Marcel eyes him for a moment before turning away. "I can assure you I have absolutely no desire to see that child come into harm's way. She's suffered enough with this Harvest ritual nonsense."

"That child, to whom you refer to so affectionately, is the most powerful witch in New Orleans. If she's fled, what's to stop her from destroying us? In fact, destroying all we've worked for? No, if she's not a friend to this family, then she is our enemy." Klaus spat at his brother and Marcel, because he knew that, at the very least, Khalia would pick his side in this fight.

"And what do you think, Khalia? You've been astonishingly silent?" As Elijah spoke, he moved his body in the direction of his sister. Her eyes flickered to him, those dark brown orbs pinning him down as she stared at him thoughtfully.

Then she shrugged, taking another pull of the vodka. "I've never liked witches, that was Kol's fetish. If she's a threat to us or to Hayley, I say we kill her."

"And if she's not a threat to either?" Elijah questioned in retort.

Khalia shrugged again. "Then she's your problem."

"She's not a problem, she is a friend." Marcel snapped at Khalia, glaring harshly at the Demon Mikaelson. She smirked lopsidedly at him.

"Yours maybe, but definitely not mine. I pick my friends, and witches doesn't make the cut." There was an glint in her eyes that told Marcel this conversation was amusement to Khalia and not something she took seriously.

"Well, let's hope she's a friend for your sake, Marcellus. Lucky for you, I know how to get her back. Follow my lead." The Hybrid goes to leave, but stops when Khalia calls his name. "Yes, little sister?"

"What did I say about the ordering thing?" She raised a perfect eyebrow at her brother, who rolled his eyes is exasperation.

"Will you please follow my lead?" Klaus asked and Khalia grinned. "There. Was that better?"

"Much better." She answered as she put her bottle of Vodka down and sauntering over to her brother. The female shot him a smirk. "It might take a while, but I'll house train you eventually." Klaus shot her an indignant glare and Khalia sped away from him to dodge the smack she knew was coming, chuckles leaving her mouth as she went.

"This is a stupid plan." Khalia deadpanned, watching the human sitting in the rafters and compelled to play his violin. She thinks his name is Tom, she wasn't paying attention as Klaus told her the plan to lure Davina to them by using her first love. They kidnapped the boy and brought him the the Mikaelson Compound. Klaus made a called to one traitorous Joshua and now they were waiting for the last Harvest witch to arrive.

"Yes, but it will work. True love prevails." The Hybrid said, shooting his sister a grin. In return he got the dirtiest look ever seen.

"We'll see." Was all she said. She tilted her head, looking at Klaus with a smirk. "You know, for someone who is supposed to be pure evil, you sure seem like a fluffy."

Klaus frowned, "A fluffy?"

"Yes, like one of those hideous stuffed toys Caroline keeps in her bedroom. She called them her fluffy's." Khalia explained and Klaus' faces darkened.

"What were you doing in her room?" He asked, voice a little colder than he intended. For a second, Khalia though about messing with her brother, but then she pushed it out of her mind. In all honesty, the Mikaelson being in the blonde's room is innocent. She actually liked the Forbes girl's spunk.

"I talked to her. Asked her a few questions." She told the dirty blonde honestly. Klaus opened his mouth and the female spoke before he could. "About what, is none of your business." She just asked Caroline why she didn't like Klaus, because the Hybrid really seemed to like her. The female blonde told her it's because Klaus is to much of a bad guy for her and if things were different, she'd have given him a chance.

Never let it be said that Khalia doesn't look out for her family. Even if she does it behind their backs.

Before the Hybrid could retort or ask a question, Elijah joined them in the courtyard and Klaus' attention went to him. "Where's Rebekah gotten off to?"

"It's not Rebekah that I'm concerned about." Elijah answered shortly. "And how can you be so certain that Davina will come?" The dark haired male asked his brother, his skepticism clear as day.

"One might think you've forgotten what it's like to be in the grip of an all-consuming infatuation." Klaus told his brother, resulting in a snort of amusement from his sister.  "She'll come." The Hybrid assured his brother. The Mikaelson sister turned to her eldest brother.

"Niklaus thinks that true love will prevail." Khalia's disbelief over the notion was clear in the tone of her voice.

"Would you not go if someone was keeping Hayley hostage?" Klaus asked his sister, knowing that he was walking into fire with that question.

"Of course I will, without question. But what's that got to do with true love?" Her eyes was narrowed and her eyebrows furrowed and it hit Klaus that she was honestly confused and didn't understand what he was trying to imply. Luckily for him. Elijah watched his sister with a soft smile, it was nice to hear that she actually cares about Hayley, even if she didn't realize it and if only the werewolf was here to hear it.

"And if you had to give yourself in order to save her, would you?" Klaus questioned, threading clearfully because, God help him, she would snap his neck if she pieces together what he was trying to say. Khalia is excellent at forming a plan of action or attack and even better at executing it, she is quick to assess a situation and looking for and identifying her opponent's weaknesses, but when it came to feelings, she was very slow to catch on.

"Yes, and the second she was safe, I would kill every last one who dared to lay a hand on my sweetheart." And then, watching the protectiveness burn fiercely in their sister's eyes, Klaus and Elijah knew, whatever there was between Khalia and Hayley, went much deeper than either of the two realised. "But what does that have to do with Davina and Tom?"

"Tim." Klaus immediately corrected and his sister shrugged, really not caring. And he also has to think how to get out of this situation. Then it came to him. "Hayley is your friend, yes?"

"Yes." A sigh of annoyance escaped her. She pushed the almost kisses far away from her mind. "Get to the point already, Klaus. This game of twenty questions is getting boring."

"And if you would go after a friend, why wouldn't Davina come after the one she loves?" Klaus hoped with all of his might that his sister would believe that. She eyed him for a second before shrugging and accepting the explanation. Both Elijah and Klaus let out a quiet breath of relief.

Elijah looks up at Timothy and promptly decides to change the subject. "Are the maudlin theatrics absolutely necessary, Niklaus?"

"Ha! It's a fair point." He looks up at the young boy. "Timothy, play something a little more upbeat, please. That's a good lad." Klaus grinned and Khalia chucked at her brother's theatrics. Marcel returns to the compound and joins them. "Took you long enough to spread the word."

"Have you met his nightwalkers? Not the brightest assortment." Elijah quipped, looking at Marcel and then his Hybrid brother. Khalia grinned at his words.

"That's true." Khalia nodded, pointing to her eldest brother. "He once had two of them tail me and I spotted them within the first sixty seconds." She turned to Marcel. "What exactly do you teach them?"

"All that matters is I got it covered. When Davina gets here, you three need to let me do the talking." Marcel said and Khalia wrinkled her nose at the order. She had no desire to speak to the witch in the first place. And then she felt it. The female Mikaelson might not know much about magic, but she does know how witch magic feels. She spent enough time around witches with Kol to know.

Klaus senses Davina's presence nearby too. "Well, I'm sure you'll have your chance." He turns to Davina. "Hello, love." The Hybrid then looks up at Tim. "Silence is golden, Timothy. Thank you."

The poor human was clearly confused. "Davina?"

"You got me here. Now let him down." The witch ordered and Khalia smirked.

"Bad idea, little witch, Klaus responds to orders as well as I do. Which is, not very." Khalia smirked, because she is a bitch and likes riling up witches. The Hybrid smirked back at his sister.

"Well, first, we have to have a little chat about you returning to the fold." Klaus told her, his voice tone nice but Khalia knew there was a malicious glint in his eyes.

Marcel turns to Klaus. "What did I say, Klaus? I got this." He turns back to Davina. "D, what happened? Why'd you run? Talk to me. Hey, I can make it right." Khalia thought it would be polite to not snort in disbelief, because Marcel isn't exactly what you'd call 'daddy material', then again, neither is Klaus. That poor baby is doomed.

"How, by threatening my friend?" She countered easily, eyes flaring with the anger she felt towards someone she thought of as a friend.

"Actually, that was my idea. Apologies. I've been known to go too far to make a point, But I do always get results." The Hybrid took credit for his actions, a smug grin on his face as he looked at the witch.

"You pretend to be so confident, but I know the truth. You're afraid everyone can see what you really are, an animal." She casts a pain infliction spell that brings him to his knees, and he groans in pain. Khalia watches frozen in horror. "A beast. Why don't you show us your real face?" She magically forces Klaus to partially transform into a werewolf before telekinetically snapping his neck. "That's enough of you." Now, Klaus might be evil, he might be an animal, a beast or even a monster, but he's her brother and when Davina broke his neck, she snapped.

"Why, you snot nosed little bitch." Khalia all but growled out as she sped forward, every intent of snapping her little neck. Davina was working on her nerves before, but she just attacked her family and awoke the Demon in her.

The brunette witch froze momentarily as Khalia came speeding to her, but shook herself out of it and, just like with Klaus, telekinetically snapped the female Mikaelson's neck, her body dropping go the ground with a loud thud.
