22 | WARTH OF KHALIA
WAR OF HEARTS • hayley marshall
The Mikaelson Compound was silent as the three Originals and one sire vampire layed dead. Klaus stirred first. His eyes widened when he saw the three bodies laying around him. He crawled over to his sister and nudged her. A sharp pain shot through his neck and his winced before bringing up his hand and rubbing it away. Getting your neck snapped was never fun and the Hybrid knew that his sister was going to be royally pissed of when she wakes up. And she would probably want to kill Davina.
"I fucking hate witches!" Khalia snarled the second she woke up from her snapped neck, curtsey of Davina. A groan mixed with a growl bubbled up from her throat and her vampire eyes flashed to the surface.
Marcel and Elijah awakes on the floor of the courtyard after their wounds have begun to heal. Elijah still has blood crusted all over his face, and Marcel's shirt is soaked in blood as well. The Demon Mikaelson raised and eyebrow at them.
"Well, isn't this monumentally awkward." Elijah quipped and his sister shot him a dark glare.
"Awkward? No. Infuriating? Yes." She snapped, getting up and pacing as her mind began to race a mile a minute - wondering where the little witch could have gone to hide.
Klaus pulls out his phone and calls his blonde sister. "Rebekah, where are you?"
"I'm with Davina, she's safe from all of you." The female snapped back, and Khalia listened to the background, trying to get a hint of where they might be. Sounds of groaning and lots of heart beats could be heard. Khalia smirked as she figured out where they were. Marcel's garden prison.
"Well, I tried to talk to her, out of respect for Marcel, but she made it quite clear she is not our friend. My apologies if you thought she was yours." Klaus quipped with a smirk and before he could say anything else, Rebekah hung up.
"So dramatic." The Hybrid rolled his eyes, eyeing the phone before putting it away in his pocket. He looked at his sister, who had a malicious smirk on her face. "Why do you like you're about to murder someone?" He asked, wariness swirling in his eyes as he looked at her.
"I know where they are." The malicious grin was intact and there was a crazed look in her eyes. Marcel took and involuntarily step backwards, not liking that look one bit. "And Davina Claire is a dead witch."
The brunette female speeds away, before any of them could recover. Taking short cuts she still remembers from when she lived here centuries ago, it didn't take her longer than a few minutes to arrive at the Garden. She once again used her vampire speed and strength to speed beneath the foundation and snap Rebekah and Josh's necks. She then grabbed the human by his neck and held him in the air in a chokehold - tightening her grip when Davina opened her mouth.
"One word, little bitch, and I'll snap his neck faster than you can blink." The Mikaelson snarled at the witch. Davina closed her mouth and Khalia smirked. "You know, people always think that my brother Klaus is the evil one. Then they meet me and like that-" She snapped her free hand's fingers. "They change their minds."
"I'll kill you." Davina promised with narrowed eyes as Tim struggled in the Demon Mikaelson's grip.
She grinned evilly. "Don't think so, witch girl." She looked up at the struggling human. "He's rather resilient." The Mikaelson smirked. "Having survived Nik and now he's in my hands. It's up to you if he'll survive."
Davina glared at the Original vampire with all the hatred she could muster. "What do you want?"
"You." Khalia responded easily, a dark smirk on her lips. "Or more accurately, I want to snap your neck, just like you snapped mine. Only difference is, I'll be doing it with my hands instead of telekinesis."
"You're crazy." The witch snapped at her, eyes shooting full of tears.
"A drunk, a demon, a slut, the devil's sister and now I'm mental as well. Any more adjectives you'd like to sling my way?" She asked in amusement, raising a brow at the witch. Davina stayed silent. "Now, are you going to offer yourself as a martyr, or am I going to kill your love?"
"You hurt Tim, and I'll kill Hayley." The witch threatened, grasping at the last straw she could think of. When she met Hayley earlier, she felt that her soul was bonded to someone else's and now when she met Khalia, she could feel it was her. But this was Davina's worst and final mistake as a monstrous growl left the Mikaelson's throat.
"I changed my mind, I'll kill both of you." Khalia snapped Tim's neck and let his body drop to the ground before she sped to Davina - and one to learn from her mistakes, she sped around her and snapped her neck before the girl could even process her love's death. The vampire stood back and admired her handiwork with a smirk before speeding back home.

Khalia Mikaelson did not like being lectured, especially not by her noble brother - as everyone call him. The woman loves her brother, but for fuck sakes, he can work on her nerves like he's getting paid to do it. He was currently talking to her, yapping about how she can't just go an kill someone because she feels like it.
"News flash, Elijah, we are vampires. And do you know what vampires do? We kill people, whenever we want. So, I can kill someone if I get the urge to do so and there is nothing that you can say that will stop me or make me change my mind. Now, why don't you do me a favor and back the fuck off!" The brunette girl spun around and walked away from her brother.
"Khalia, you better not hurt that child again." Elijah called out and Khalia froze at the suggestion in his tone.
"What is that supposed to mean?" She asked, jaw clenching violently. Anger rose up in her chest.
"Marcel had a witch place a protection spell on her so that in the event that she should die, Davina will be brought back to life." Elijah explained, straightening his blazer.
"Well, that is just perfect." Khalia scoffed sarcastically, a scowl on her face.
"And she will be living here." The Mikaelson male added, knowing that if she finds Davina on her own, the witch will not survive.
Khalia stared at her brother for a long moment. "Fine." She grit out glaringly. "But if she comes near me or Hayley, I'll kill her. And I'll make sure that she doesn't come back again." Elijah nodded, knowing that his sister would not budge when the pregnant werewolf is involved.
The female Mikaelson sped up to her room and fell down on her bed face first, exhausted. Having your neck snapped takes a lot of your energy and Khalia is just done with this day. She wanted to sleep for a while and get away from all of their problems. A knock on her door interrupted her plan and she groaned.
"Khalia." The person outside the door called out and it was the sound of that voice, the only voice in this world that had the ability to get into Khalia's heart, that caused the vampire to roll over on her back and heave herself up.
"Come on in, sweetheart." She invited and the door opened, revealing the pregnant werewolf and a grin lifted on her lips. Hayley's eyes sparkled and her heart warmed at the sight of the grinning but clearly tired vampire.
"How was your day?" Hayley asked, closing the door behind her and walking into the room.
"Well, I got killed by Davina, snapped my sister's neck as well as young Joshua's, killed Davina's boyfriend Tom and then the witch herself. Got lectured about killing by Elijah and now I'm here with you." She summarised with a thoughtful look. "Excuse me for a second, sweetheart, I'm going to get into something more comfortable."
"Okay." Hayley said and the vampire walked into her walk-in closet. The werewolf took a seat on Khalia's bed and thought about what the Mikaelson said about her day. Davina killed her, probably via a snapped neck. I'll have to talk to her, Hayley though with a dark smirk of her own.
The vampire walked out of her closet, barefoot and dressed in black leggings and a large black shirt. Khalia plopped down next to Hayley and layed down on her back. "So, how was your day?"
The werewolf didn't answer, instead she filled with her fingers and bit down on her bottom lips. The vampire sat back up. "Sweetheart?" She prodded, gently nudging Hayley's shoulder with her own.
"I did something terrible." The pregnant supernatural whispered, closing her eyes in shame. Suddenly Khalia's chest felt tight and she couldn't breathe quite right. "And I don't know how to fix it."
"What did you do?" The vampire's voice was uncharacteristically soft and gentle as she took one of Hayley's hands in her own. Khalia knows how to kill people, how to torture them and how to drain the of blood. What she didn't know, is how to comfort people. But she was trying here. For Hayley, she'd try.
"Sophie asked me to find out where Elijah burried Celeste, his lover from long ago, and I had to invade his privacy and go through his journals to find out where the burrial spot is." Hayley explained and the Mikaelson thought that telling her that she and Kol went through Elijah's journals just to make fun of him was inappropriate. She settled for using her free hand to rub up and down Hayley's back.
"He is probably going to be mad at you." Khalia told her, remembering how her eldest brother would ignore her and Kol for weeks at a time when they invaded his privacy. "And I wish I could tell you how to fix it, but Kol and I never cared enough to bother getting back into Elijah's good graces. He just always eventually forgave us." The vampire shrugged.
"You two sound like quite the pair." Hayley laughed softly and Khalia took her hand away from the werewolf's back but the other hand kept hold of Hayley's hand.
"Yes," The Mikaelson nodded, pained smile on her face, but it didn't hurt to much to talk about her twin anymore. Not like it used to paralyze her with pain when his name was spoken. "Yes, we were."
And for the first time, it didn't hurt when she spoke about Kol in past tense. And Khalia realised that she was busy healing. Right here, with Hayley and her family. They were helping her grieve, helping her heal.
"If you want some really good advice, go ask Nik what to do. They were always thick as thieves, still are. Sure, they're at each other's throats right now because of that little witch, but they still know each other best." Khalia told the girl honestly, because she could see that Hayley was still feeling bad about betraying Elijah.
Hayley frowned, "I thought that you and Klaus are close."
"We are." The vampire nodded. "But I understand why Nik is the way he is and I stand by him. Elijah, on the other hand, he tries to change Nik constantly. Recently, he's tried it with me." Khalia shook her head. Both of them knew that recently really meant after Kol's death. "What Elijah doesn't realise is, that he can't change us. No one can change anyone. The person has to want to change. Otherwise it would be living a lie."
"I've never thought about it like that." Hayley told her, taking a deep breath and moved her hand linked with Khalia's so that their fingers tangled with each other's. Hayley held her breath. And when the immortal girl didn't pull away, a silly smile lifted on the werewolf's lips.
"When you live for a thousand years, you learn to see things from every side and to not be narrowed minded." The brunette Mikaelson told the werewolf. "Some of us do." She shrugged after a moment. "I've been alive for lifetimes, and only now civilization is learning that your can't tell people who to love. It's sad to think that it took us thousands of years to arrive at this point. And still, people judge and think that some things are unacceptable." Khalia scoffed.
"You know," Hayley started in a whisper, tugging on the vampire's hand until she looked her in the eye. "For someone that's called an emotionless demon, you sure can be sweet."

How was that for revenge? I hope it was good.
