5 | THREATENING A WITCH
WAR OF HEARTS • hayley marshall
Khalia was inside the mansion, busy getting her mind of what happened in the pool just minutes ago or trying to at least. Her body was still hot from the fire that erupted inside of her when Hayley touched her, even after mulitpule ice cold showers. She was walking past the exit that lead outside, making her way to the kitchen, when she saw an unfimiliar figure talking to Hayley and the vampire sped to the door.
"Sophie just asked me to come keep you company while everyone's out." She heard the unfimiliar woman say to the werewolf.
"Everyone's not out. I'm here to watch over her and keep her company." Khalia said as she stopped by the door that lead outside, making the two girls' head snap to her. Khalia noticed that Hayley was looking anywhere but her eyes. She understood why and decided that it was better this way, that Hayley thinks that she doesn't like her. Yet, that didn't stop the painful tug her heart gave.
The woman's eyes widenend in realisation and fear when she saw the Original. "You know who I am?" She asked, her usual smirk on her lips but the words came out more of a statement.
"Yeah, I know. You're Khalia Mikaelson. Everyone knows who you are." The dark skinned woman said with a nervous smile and stepped towards the vampire and extended a hand. "I'm Sabine." Khalia just gave her a blank stare, not making any movement to shake it, and the witch akwardly took her hand back and turned back to Hayley, who was still looking anywhere but the vampire.
Sabine looks at the wolf curiously and gestures toward it, causing Hayley to glance back at the wolf and Khalia to look at the witch, her guard up. "You know, it's drawn to you. The child you're carrying is part vampire, part werewolf. You and Klaus made something special."
Khalia scowled at the words out of jealousy but neither the werewolf or the witch noticed it, luckily for her. "You sound like Elijah. He thinks this baby is going to make us one big, happy family, but now he's gone and I don't even know what... 'it' is." The werewolf comments and Khalia looks at her. Not knowing what to tell her or what to do. She doens't know how to comfort people or what to do when people are sad or in need of comfort.
"You know, I can do something about that, if you want. I mean, find out if it's a boy or girl." Sabine tells her and Khalia narrowed her eyes at the witch.
Hayley was confused at the witches words and said, "I thought you couldn't do witchy stuff around here."
"It's not magic, just an old trick my grandmother taught me. Come on. You have to be a little curious." The witch tells her with a smile and Hayley nods slowly. Khalia sped forward, grabbed the witch by her throat and leaned to the witches ear,
"If something happens to her because of what you're about to do, I'll rip you apart, piece by piece." She threatened in a low snarl, her voice sending shivers down Sabine's spine and not the pleasant kind, knowing the Original is deadly serious. The witch nodded, fear coursing through her.
The vampire let her go and stepped back as the witch entered the house, still catching her breath and Khalia turned around to come face to face with a grinning Hayley, who heard her threat.
"What are you smiling about, sweetheart?" The Original asked.
"Nothing." Hayley said, moving past the vampire to go into the house, her grin never faltering. It would seem that Rebekah was right, Khalia is going to push her away but Hayley was determined. She would push back harder.
The trio of women entered the kitchen and Hayley layed down on the kitchen counter, lifting her shirt and a small smile lit the werewolf face when she saw Khalia's eyes zeroed in on the exposed tan skin. The Original thought it was the perfect shade, even if there was a slight bump.
Sabine holds a crystal hanging on a chain over Hayley's pregnant belly and Khalia moves her eyes to the witch, her stance tense and ready to attack if she tries anything.
Sabine smiles before saying, "I think it's a girl." Khalia's eyes quickly flickers to Hayley and she gives the werewolf a smile, not a small one but not a grin either. Just a smile. Suddenly, the crystal starts to swing in the other direction, and she frowns, "No... wait."
"Wait what? Please tell me I'm not having a mini-Klaus." Hayley says panicked and the vampire snickers at her words. The crystal suddenly glows with a bright light, which causes Sabine to drop it. All of a sudden, her eyes roll back in her head, and she begins to chant in a low voice.
"Hoc est infantima malom. Nos omnia perditu el eam." Khalia doesn't recognize the language and for the first time in her life, she wished she paid more attention when Kol explained witchy stuff. Sabine's eyes rolls back and looks fearfully at the two females.
"What the hell was that?" Khalia asks with narrowed eyes , her tone stern and she speeds infront of Hayley and pushed the witch away from the pregnant girl and Hayley sat up, looking Sabine as well.
"Nothing." She tells the two and the Mikaelson takes a threatening step forward. "I swear."
"Fine," Khalia says, nodding her head. "But remember what I told you earlier." Her voice taking a dark and threatening tone and Sabine nods hastily while she rushes out of the house- Khalia's eyes not leaving her figure until she is out of view and then listening until she's gone.
"What if she's lying?" Hayley asks, her tone worried and scared, causing Khalia to her to her, her expression softening as she saw the worry in the werewolf's eyes.
"Then I'll kill her. And anyone else who tries to hurt you." Khalia replies simply, walking to Hayley- who is still sitting on the counter- and stopping infront of the pregnant girl. "I'm not going to let anything happen to you." She tells her softly, yet there is a promise in her voice that makes relief spread through Hayley's body, along with a buzzing warmth that she felt when ever Khalia was near.
"Okay." The werewolf said, nodding her head, a big and warm smile on her lips because for the first time, Khalia didn't mention the baby when she said that she would protect Hayley. The werewolf knew she would protect them both when it came down to it though. And Khalia couldn't help but mirror her smile. Even if she didn't want to.

"What are you so angry about?" Khalia asked her blonde haired sister who looked just about ready to murder someone, already having an idea of who pissed Rebekah of.
"Klaus." The blonde growled out, confirming the brunette's thoughts.
"What's he done now?" She asked with a sigh. Khalia loved her family with all of her heart, she realy did, but they could be exusting.
"He killed Katie before Sophie could find Elijah." Rebekah said through gritted teeth, her tone showing her frustration and Khalia's anger lit up and she sped of to find her Hybrid brother.
"You bloody moron." Khalia snarled as she grabbed Klaus by his neck and sped him against the nearest wall she could find. She didn't even notice Hayley who was sitting in a chair with a laptop on her lap. The werewolf brightened instantly when she saw the vampire but her smile faded when she saw the furious look on Khalia's face.
"Oh what have I done now?" He asked his very angry sister, not even attempting to break out of her grip because he know he would only get a snapped neck as a result. He may be stronger than her, but she is the best fighter he has ever seen and she can easily kick his ass, by using his strength against him. He doesn't know how she does it, only that she can.
"You screwed up the one chance we had to get Elijah home." She spat, her voice coated in anger and fury as she glared at him with a glare that scared Hayley.
"Oh so you just believe anything out of Rebekah's mouth, huh?" Klaus asked, now angered that she didn't even give him a chance to explain himself like she has in the past. But he also had to take into account that Kol's death changed her and that she isn't who she used to be. She is much worse than she was.
Seeing his point, Khalia let him go, "Well then, go ahead. Plead your case." She said in a mocking manner.
"In killing Katie, I saved Marcel's life and I gained his trust and he also now owes me one. And that one he owes me, I'm going to use to bring Elijah home." He explained to her and she had a thoughtful look on her face as she thought about his words and the pregnant girl - who watch the sibling duo - thought that she looked to cute but she would never tell the vampire that.
"Okay. Fine." She said nodding. "I'll apologize as soon as he's home." She told him and turned around, making her way to the kitchen and Hayley followed her after a few seconds of contemplating if she should.
"Hey." The werewolf said softly, and having head her Khalia turned to her with a small smile, a blood bag in her hand.
"Sweetheart," Khalia greeted. "What can I do for you?" She asked Hayley.
"Nothing, I'm fine." The werewolf assured her. "But are you?" Hayley asked her. The werewolf knew she took a big risk in asking the question, knowing that the vampire will more than likely lie to her but she did it anyway.
"Of course I am." The vampire said quickly, to quickly for it to be the truth and Hayley picked up on this. Hayley was ready for this answer but that didn't mean she was going to accept it and let it go.
"No, you're not." The pregnant girl counters and Khalia stared at the girl, making Hayley's heartbeat speed up at the intense look in the vampire's eyes. The immortal girl looked into her eyes, looking for even the faintest sign of disinterest but all she found was concern. And although she didn't want to admit it, it made her heart soar and her body feel warm all over.
"I'm grieving the loss of my twin brother, Hayley. So, no, I'm not fine. And I won't be for a very long time. If ever." Khalia finally told her, deciding to settle on the truth. She threw her empty blood bag in the trash and walked out of the kitchen and to her room.
Hayley stayed in the kitchen thinking the brunette vampire' words over when Klaus entered the kitchen.
"You alright, little wolf?" He questioned her.
"I'm just thinking." She told him honestly. "How close where Khalia and Kol?" She eventually asked him but regretted her words when she saw the flash of pain on the Hybrid's face when she mentioned Kol. It was obviously a very sore subject for all of the Mikaelson's but she had to know.
"They were as close as a pair of twin's could be. They did everything together. Partied, fed, got high of blood and everything you could think of. It was something in all of my years I had only ever seen with them. We often irritated them by saying that they were a pair of siamiese twins. Attatched at the hip, because where the one went, the other followed. And when I daggered Kol, Khalia would ask to be daggered as well. And when Kol died, so did a part of her as her heart shattered into millions of little pieces. And who would blame her, she lost her best friend of a thousand years, her parnter in crime and her human diary as she used to call him. " He told her, his voice tone soft and vunarable as Hayley felt overwhelmed by what the male had just shared with her. She knew they were close but she didn't know they were that close.
"I know you like my sister, Hayley, but word of advice, Khalia is a very hard person to get to know." The Hybrid told her and the werewolf's temper flared.
"So, what, I'm supposed to just leave her alone and stop caring?" She asked him, her voice tone very angry and Klaus rolled his eyes in annoyance.
"That is not what I said or what I ment, Hayley," He started his tone irretated.
"Then what did you mean?" She questioned, her tone a little more calm now and the Hybrid threw her a grin.
"You are going to have a lot of hair on your teeth, because Khalia is the most stubborn one out of all of us." He told her, his tone amused but his words was the truth.
"Yeah?" She scoffed at him and not his words. "Well so am I." She told him, her tone determined and serious while Klaus only had one thought running in his mind.
This is going to be fun.
