Chapter 4-Keep Looking Forward

Reincarnated No, But I Woke Up In A Different Body

First Person-Lucille

When I say some of these people are dumb as rocks, I mean they are dumb as rocks. Lady luck was definitely not on my side today because no one I knew was in any of my other classes. I mean granted that's not a lot of people but still.

The clock ticked by as it was only 12:37 yet still everyone in my creative writing class still don't know the difference between a verb, adjective, and noun.

There was a scratching noise by the window. My head turned before I thought any longer about it. I felt my life flash before my eyes as a rock heaved towards the window. It proceeded to bounce back to the ground.

As my head leaned downwards trying to see where it came from I saw a figure retrieving the rock. The unknown figure turned around. The figure looked somewhat familiar, 'long purple hair... Alibis?' I looked down with a shocked expression. He then lifted his head aiming for another throw. Our eyes met, he then moved his position to wave excessively at me jumping up and down.

He then pouted to the window, making the motion to pull it up. My arms crossed in to an x, he then proceeded to do a pleading motion. I looked back to the front of the classroom ignoring him. I was starting to get sleepy so I leaned against the glass. My eyes started to drop struggling to keep open. 'So.... Sleepy.' I then heard something crash against the window. My body jumped up out of my skin. I looked down to the guilty person down below. His smirk held high getting ready for another pitch. I shuddered at the thought of it. In a daze I opened the window.

"Heads up," grinned Alibis.

"Wait, slow down I-" I tried to shout but suddenly there was an impact on my head. It started to bleed as it healed the droplets of blood rolling down my face. Now I am not one to cry but this body is really fragile. When I looked at my reflection in the mirror my eyes were blood shot. I could feel them well up as my vision grew increasingly blurry. The droplets rolled down my cheeks to my chin mixing with blood in the process.

I could here whispers behind me as I tried to calm myself down. The key word is 'tried' The blood had stopped flowing and went away as fast as it came as the wound healed up. However liquid kept on flowing out of my eyes tasting the saltiness of it sometimes.

It was another minute until I was able to stop. I turned my head down to Alibis, him looking as if he killed a puppy. He mouthed 'I'm sorry' I silently flipped him off as I looked down at him. He pouted in forgiveness as I looked and closed the window.

However this time when I looked at the clock it was 1:10. I decided to hand in the paper we were doing and sat back down to draw. Time seemed to warp again as I soon found out class was dismissed again.

I felt joy wash over my for my final class, which was just a gardening class. Every day the class at the end of the day would switch which I was grateful for.

I waited for the twins at the front, our 'parents' had requested for us to walk home together. Finally they were next to me talking however it felt unsettling because of their different appearances. All of our feet trudged behind one another making our way back to our house. It felt like a weight was lifted off my chest when we got through the barrier, everything was more normal I guess. 'But is it normal?' My brain said s I made my way to my room.

I landed on the plush bed wondering, 'This isn't normal,' my thoughts started to wonder as I thought of all the people that I had known that I'll never see again. A wave of sadness washed over my as I started to cry. 'How come I adapted so easily to this? It's all my fault I left them.' Tears started to stream down my face my throat feeling soar.

There was a knock at the door, "May I come in," A deep voice said.

"Sure," I pathetically whimpered out.

"Oh my sweets what happened," 'Father' cried out.

"It's, I-" my voice struggled not knowing what to say. "It's just, how come we adapt so easily to things?" My voice quivered.

"It's simple human nature," 'father' stated hugging me as we now both later down. Soon 'mother' came in joining in not saying a word. Aluxio was next passing by my door putting his book down and joining in. A few minutes later Cytherea joined in whispering sweet nothings. Finally last but not least Elysia came running in and joined our pile of cuddles.

"To much love," I jokingly cried out. Everyone chuckled at my antics. It felt so comforting and warm, back in my old world I had moved away from my hometown for college. I had never made any close friends after that and had no family around. 'It seems I had forgotten about this feeling.' We stayed like that for awhile.

"Dinner will be done soon, love you." Mother announced getting up to go down stares.

"Live you too mom," I said, the word mom truly meaning something this time. She looked at me and smiled. Everyone got up one by one except for father. He then started to grab my hands as we both sat up.

"Lucille whatever you might be going through to make you feel that way whether it be school or something else just know I'm here and everyone else too. You don't even need to tell us about it if you don't want to." His voice said in a fatherly demeanor. "I love you very much, my son," He said kissing my forehead.

"I love you too dad," the barrier that seemed to have separated me from everyone when I got here seemed to shatter like glass. "Thank you," I whispered barley audible.

"Anytime, now I've gotta go help your mother before I'm the one she's cooking." Father rushed tripping over his feet on the way. I giggled at his actions.

It had been a few days sense then and everything was so boring, even my daydreaming couldn't catch up. Previously in my other life I wrote novels on the side for a hobby along with working at the bakery. However I planned them in my head as I saw certain events or stories in real life. However, it had been the same routine and boring classes over and over again.

I decided to go to the book store which looked older than most of the city yet still was more modernized inside, at least as modern as this world could get. I was browsing the sections looking at books choosing some at random and figuring out whether or not I wanted to read them. I then picked up an older book and started to read it. I instantly felt myself sucked in as I was already a few pages in.

"That's a good choice," A rougher looking boy around the same age said.

"Oh, I'm just browsing but it is very intriguing!" I smiled with a joyful glint in my eyes. The boy crouched down and got a book from down below. His hands handled it with care as he held it. He flipped through it reading it as he went along gently moving the pages. He looked at me smiled and then looked back at the book. "Oh, Uh I should probably introduce myself, I'm Lucille Pleasure to meet you." I held my hand out.

"Oh, I guess I should too I am Uri pleased to meet you as well. He shook my hand as he spoke his strong grip. Despite his hands looking rough they were actually soft. His hair looked like it was as well. "Why don't we go around town for a little?"

"That would be wonderful,"

"I'm glad after all it's not everyday that I meet a person with amazing taste in books," Uri remarked. We both made our way to the front paying for our books separately. Once we exited we were hit with the smell of fresh food.

I pulled him over to a stand that had different strawberries, both of us looked in wonder as we looked down. At the same time our eyes met sugar coated strawberries that resembled roses.

So of course we bought them we both looked at each other knowingly, we both had a sweet tooth so when both of us broke the hardened sugar around the strawberries we were in pure bliss.

We continued to walk around talking, "I'm actually one of the personal knights of the prince from the neighboring kingdom." Uri stated.

"Really then why are you here?"

"Today's my one day off in awhile, he's visiting the princess right now." You could hear the sigh in his voice. "Actually I heard that there's a dance later in town, care to join me?"

"I would love to," I smiled 'I thought that names familiar he may have been only a supporting role but he caught Lucille poisoning Evelyn' We started to walk around again creating small talk as we explored.

Before either of us realized it was night already. "Hurry I don't wanna miss anything," Uri rushed as we ran through the crowd holding hands.

"We aren't going to miss anything," I reassured him. Spite me doing that he only quickened his pace smiling. His auburn hair flopping because of his undercut. We finally made it him jumping up and down like a child. I saw the twins and waved. They just smiled and then disappeared into the crowd

Uri grabbed my waist and hand as we started to waltz. We were around the height so we met eye level with each other. Freckles dotted his face in clusters. He started to spin me up in the air to say I shocked was an understatement. 'I guessed because he's a knight he's gotta have muscle but not enough to pick me up!' He looked at my face and started to chuckle.

"I'm stronger than people expect what can I say." He smirked we danced the night away playing around as we did so. It was starting to get late so we went back to the crowded stalls.

A voice came echoing by, "Uri it's time to head back," we both looked over to see a man with white hair and Red eyes.

Whispers started to be exchanged between everyone around us, "That's the prince!" "Who Uri?" "He's even more handsome than expected" there were squeals as he made his way towards us.

"Ah your highness, my utmost apologies I lost track of time." Uri started to rant as he panicked his tan skin flushing. While Uri started to apologize profusely the princes eyes wandered over to where I was standing. He looked shocked for a split second that cleared his throat.

"We should be leaving now so say by to your friend here." He averted his eyes.

"Will do sir," Uri saluted then turned back to me. "Thank you very much Lucille for tonight I hope to see you again." He smiled brightly holding both of my hands in his shaking them. "I must be off now bye!" He shouted.

"Bye to you too I'm sure we'll meet again someday!" I shouted even louder as the distance grew and the crowd got louder. I started to make my way back home meeting Cytherea and Aluxio along the way. The moon shown down on us three. The streets were empty so we talked freely as our feet trampled along the dirt path. Finally we saw our all familiar house in front of us.

The front door creaked as we went through the entrance. Our shoes were left at the front as all of out feet made their way down the hallway. We saw that the light was coming from an oil lamp and mom, dad, and Elysia sat on the sofa. We all got on the couch with them as I set my book on the low table in front of us.

"Mind if I read this book to everyone?" Father asked me as I sat next to him with Elysia cuddled into me.

"Go ahead," I answered sleepily.

"Thank you flower," he responded reaching over to grab the book. His voice started.

"Blooming into you, When I was younger I always associated blooming with flowers. But now that I'm sixteen I realized that people do as well whether it's their physical appearance or there emotions and feelings it's always happening. We flourish as well as have down times. However the blooming that never stops even in those circumstances is love. Whether it's romantic, or not love will continue to bloom. It was to late to realize mine for you or my friends however I know everyday that as long as we all still share our feelings it will grow bigger and bigger and never stop even if I don't have romantic feelings for you anymore. Just like how a parents love will continue as they live on---

My eyes started to drop as dad went on the warmth coming from everyone around didn't help either however I felt safe as my eyes stopped trying to open. The next time they did it was bright and early.
