Caretaker Joins

Savitha – But this will help you earn more money which you can use in searching. Pay some detective agency or something? (Khushi looks at Savitha with a surprised look) ok....fine don't give that look...it was just a suggestion.

Khushi – Hmmm.....thank you...will think about it if none of these get selected. (She smiles and Savitha nods head)

SHANTHIVAN

Anjali and Nani are on video call with Arnav.

Anjali – Chote, please don't start now.

Arnav – Di why don't you understand. I don't want any damn new person in and around the house especially when I am not there.

Nani – But Anjali would need some help if not immediately but after 2 months atleast so if we hire now Anjali and the caretaker will be comfortable. Try and understand.

Arnav – Ok but we will hire only after I do some background check on anyone you chose.

Anjali – Ok done...I am so excited to get a new friend. You never allowed me out of the house past 1 and half year.

Arnav – You know the reason Di (makes sad face) I don't want to lose anyone...

Anjali – I understand... ok don't get all gloomy now thinking about past we have to come out of it... so what will you get for the baby from London?

Arnav – There you go....

Anjali – Not listening to any of your speeches....need something special....

Nani – No Chote...not good to buy anything for unborn baby so don't get anything... (Anjali makes a face and Arnav smiles)

Arnav – Ok don't sulk di...let's say...I will myself come instead of the gift what say? Cant gift the baby now but can gift baby's mother...(he smiles)

Anjali – Really? That will be so great.

Arnav – ok then will come in a week. I want to be with you all through you pregnancy.

Anjali – That's like my Chote.

Nani – Come soon Chote.

Arnav – Sure Nani...bye for now.

NEXT MORNING - SHANTHIVAN

Khushi and all the 4 aspirant applicants for Caretaker job are at the house. Khushi rings the bell. Servant of the house opened door and see Khushi standing with 4 ladies.

Khushi - Namaste (Folding hands) I want to meet Devayani Singh Raizada.

Servant – Do you have appointment?

Khushi – Yeah (Shows a letter)

Servant (Smiles) – Come in (guides them to the sitting area) Please have a seat I will get Nani ji here (Some Guards come stand and all five get nervous. Hesitantly sit on the sofa) Nani ji ....(he Walks towards Nani's room... after a while Devayani ji(Nani) comes out and sits opposite to them)

Khushi - Ji..we have come from Ashram (Gives a letter) Savitha aunty gave me this letter (Nani reads the letter given by her) I was the one who spok over the call yesterday.

Nani - Ohh.. yeah, I was looking for a decent lady to take care of my granddaughter during her pregnancy...

Khushi – Yeah, these 4 are here for the interview. Once you confirm, the person you choose will stay in this house and look after you granddaughter. (Smiles)

Nani – Ok...Hariprakash go and get Anjali. Also get some juice for everyone (He nods and goes back. After a while Anjali comes and joins) She is Anjali my grand daughter

Anjali – Namaste

Rashmi whispers something to Khushi and Nani notices

Nani - Any problem? (Khushi hesitates but still speaks)

Khushi – I mean they are asking about these guards. Any particular reason?

Nani – Yes these guards are always around. We had a tragedy in our family one and half years ago where my daughter and son in law lost their life and to avoid something like that from happening again we have tight security. (All 4 ladies who came for the interview are talking to themselves)

Pooja – Khushi we want to speak to you before the interview.

Khushi – What happened Pooja...

Sunitha – We are not comfortable to work in such a risky environment.

Anjali – Nothing has happened here. The incident took place in Bangalore. We are just being cautious.

Keerthi – Sorry Anjali ji we are not feeling very good about it.

Rashmi – Just because we are in Ashram we cant risk our lives.

Khushi – Didi...

Sunitha – Khushi, don't try and convince. They are very rich they can get many caretakes who will be ready to work we just cant accept this.

All 4 get up and starts walking off

Nani – Please listen to us (Both Anjali and Nani become sad. Khushi feels bad for them)

Khushi – Sorry I did not the meeting would go like this.

Anjali – Its ok Khushi....they are free to choose where they work right? I was very excited to make new friend and enjoy this pregnancy... haven't gone out since that incident happened (Thinks for a while) What about you? Even you feel scared? Can you join as my caretaker? (She asks hopefully)

Khushi – I already work in Ashram, I cant leave there all of a sudden.

Nani – I will speak to Savitha Ji if you are interested.

Khushi – Not required Madam. I am here in Delhi for an important work so need some time to think over this job. Can I confirm by evening?

Anjali – Sure....I will wait Khushi (Holds her hand and smile, Khushi smiles back)

Khushi – Ok then I will take your leave.

She gets up. Nani and Anjali nods. Khushi walks out of the house meet the 4 ladies all of them get into Ashram vehicle and go back to Ashram.

IN ASHRAM

All are sitting in the admin room along with Savitha.

Khushi – Even if we had to deny we could have denied politely.

Rashmi – Khushi...everyone is concerned about their own safety.

Savitha – I should have told this before. Even Khushi did not have any idea.

Khushi – I felt bad for Anjali ji...

Pooja – If you are so concerned, why don't you go and help them and stop giving lecturers at least we will be free from your micromanagement for some months.

Pooja angrily walks away. Khushi feels sad. Everyone goes out one by one. Savitha pats Khushi's shoulder. Khushi is feeling very low she thinks to herself, looking at a photo on her mobile.

Khushi – Do you even know what I am going through? Parents are murdered which is still being investigated. Not staying with the husband. I am clueless what to do next. I have no one to console me during the nightmares. I have no one to take care of me if I fall sick. If at all I die...there is no one who would even cremate me. What kind of a life is this?

The moment she thinks about it. She decides something and calls Anjali.

Anjali – Hello

Khushi – Anjaliji....its me Khushi..

Anjali – Tell me Khushi...

Khushi – I am ready to join as your caretaker.

Anjali – Thank you so much. I had almost lost hope that anyone would even come to our house after what happened in morning.

Khushi – I understand Anjaliji... will join after 3 days.... Have some work to finish here.

Anjali – Sure...you can join anytime that you are comfortable.

Khushi – Ok then I will meet you in your house. Thank you Anjaliji.

AFTER 3 DAYS

Khushi comes with her luggage. Nani welcomes her.

Nani – Hi Khushi...Anjali is having her afternoon nap. You can meet her once is awake

Khushi - Sure Madam...

Nani – You can call me Nani....I am not doing any business here to call me madam. (Khushi smiles and nods her head) Hari Prakash......(Servant comes) Show her the guest room...she is here to look after Anjali...(Servant nods....Nani turns to Khushi) you go with him....and freshen up yourself and settle down

Khushi – Ok Nani

Nani – Are you married?

Khushi - Ji.. Nani...

Nani – What about your husband...I mean if you stay here with us till Anjali's delivery wont he have any problem?

Khushi – I will make sure that there are no problems...you don't worry Nani ji...

Nani - ok then, I will meet you in your room later. (Pats her shoulder and walks away. Khushi walks with HP to guest room)

GUEST ROOM

Khushi is reading a business management book. Nani and Anjali enter. Nani smiles looking at lord Ganesha Idol which was kept on the study table. Anjali comes and hug Khushi

Anjali – Thank you so much.

Khushi – Its fine Anjali ji. (releases hug)

Anjali – You did not tell anything about the salary. Chote is very strict about these things, once he is back, he will surely make an agreement.

Khushi – That's ok Anjaliji....I will manage it with him. Salary...I don't know, I worked in ashram but I took money only for my needs never had a regular income so anything he would fix will be fine.

Anjali – Ok then.
