Chapter 1606
Arielle Moore and Vinson Nightshire
Chapter 1606 Not In Favor Of The King âSannie, Iâm just worried about you and Vinson, but if duty calls, Iâll not stop you two from leaving.â
Susanne looked at her and continued, âBut I want you and Vinson to take good care of yourselves, and please watch out for your safety. You two are my children. Iâd be devastated if something bad happens to any of you.â
Arielle was touched by her words. âThank you, Mom. Donât worry. Vinson and I will return in one piece.
I promise,â she replied, her heart and voice brimming with gratitude.
Susanne said nothing in return and merely stroked her daughter-in-lawâs hair gently.
A corner of Vinsonâs lips quirked up when he came downstairs and saw their interaction.
âVinson, Sannie said she faced two assassination attempts in Turlen. Make sure you protect her since youâre going to be with her,â Susanne exhorted her son as soon as she saw him coming downstairs.
The man responded with a smile of resignation. Come on, Mom. That goes without saying.
âDonât worry, Mom!â he reassured.
While the three were having small talk, Susanne suddenly asked about the political situation in Turlen.
She then learned that Arielleâs father was fighting for power against her grandmother. Upon finding out that Dylan was at a disadvantage at the moment, she began to worry.
âWouldnât he be helpless now that you two are away?â Susanne became even more anxious the more she thought about the matter. âSince my injuries have mostly recovered and Vinson has deployed people to protect me, you two should head back to Turlen as soon as possible!â
âItâs all right, Mom. Thereâs no need to leave in a hurry. I wish to bring a few doctors along as thereâs a shortage of medical support in Turlen. Itâs my dadâs wish to hire a few Chanaean doctors and bring them over,â Arielle said while holding Susanneâs hands.
âI need to bring some men over as well. Itâs difficult for us to do anything when we donât have our people to mobilize,â Vinson chimed in.
Susanne decided not to voice her opinion anymore since the couple had plans in their minds. Despite having urged Vinson and Arielle to get back to Turlen to support Dylan, deep in her heart, she still wished they could spend a few more days with her. Once they leave, I know I wonât be able to see them in the next few months.
Meanwhile, at the palace in Turlen, Sybil stood before Dylanâs desk with a grim expression.
âYour Majesty, we do not have the upper hand in the current situation. General Matthew and the others have decided to support the queen mother.â
Dylanâs expression was dark. Though he had gradually regained some power in the last two years, no one dared to side with him, afraid of offending Nancy as she had always been Turlenâs ultimate decision maker.
This country belongs to my family. Those who continuously pledge their support for the queen mother must be blind!
âIâve heard you!â Dylan massaged his temples as he was experiencing a migraine.
At the same time, Lawrence invited Harvey over to the Wynter residence to analyze the political situation in the country.
Harveyâs eyes were dark as he explained, âThe current development is not in favor of His Majesty!â
The young man was bewildered by the limited power and resources that the king of Turlen had at hand.
In other words, the king was nothing but a puppet monarch.
Lawrence bobbed his head in agreement. âThatâs why I wanted to discuss this with you. Are there ways for us to build up Dylanâs support so that he could rival the queen mother?â
Harvey narrowed his eyes when he heard the question. Thatâs a tough row to hoe.
âSince General Matthew belongs to the queen motherâs camp, letâs convince him to support His Majesty,â he proposed.
Lawrence instantly shook his head.
