Chapter 636
Arielle Moore and Vinson Nightshire
Wendy paled as she asked in mild disbelief, âVinsonâs subordinate? Youâre kidding, right?â
Even if he did arrange for one of his subordinates to follow Arielle, he wouldnât hire a fifteen or sixteen year-old kid, would he?
She had to be kidding.
The girls who had gotten beaten up stared at Blake in anger, but they didnât dare to do anything since he was strong and clearly skilled. Instead, they said to Wendy, âThey must be lying! She already got kicked out of the Southall family, so why would Vinson do that for her? Letâs call the police!â
Wendy had been genuinely concerned over Blake being Vinsonâs subordinate, but she decided to believe the other two girls.
It was a brilliant chance to kick Arielle out of Jadeborough University, and she would be an idiot not to take it.
Wendy stopped hesitating and immediately called the police.
Blake knew he actually got Arielle in trouble and quickly apologized, âIâm sorry! I shouldnât have done that. You can call the police, but this has nothing to do with Ms. Moore, so please donât drag her into this. Iâll take responsibility.â
âDid you hear that?â the two girls asked Wendy. âHeâs terrified because weâre calling the police! Heâs obviously not under Mr. Nightshire.â
Wendy finally relaxed and looked at Arielle. âYou were the one who coerced this child into beating us up. Youâre not getting away with this.â
âOkay,â Arielle said with a nod. âNone of us are getting away with this, thatâs for sure.â
Her beautifully clear eyes shone calmly like the surface of a still lake, sending chills down Wendyâs spine.
She didnât understand why Arielle was still so calm and couldnât help but feel nervous.
âYouââ
Wendy hadnât even finished her sentence when Arielle interrupted, âYou guys can wait here for the police, then. Iâm going to go buy this kid a drink. Then weâll all wait together.â
As she spoke, she picked up Blakeâs hand and prepared to cross the road.
âStop right there!â the tall girl called out. âYouâre trying to run away, arenât you? Youâre not leaving!â
âDonât worry,â Arielle said calmly. âItâs not like Iâm a stranger to you all. You can still report me even if I run away, which I wonât.â
The tall girl hesitated for a second but finally let Arielle go after finding reason in her argument.
However, once she turned around, she caught sight of Wendyâs pale face.
Confused, she asked, âWhatâs wrong? Why are you so pale?â
Wendy bit her lip and said, âSomething feels off. Maybe we shouldnât call the police.â
The two girls didnât understand. âWhy not?â
Wendyâs frown deepened. âJust my instinct. Iâm going to call them and ask them not to come.â
âWait!â The two girls hurriedly stopped her. âThere are surveillance cameras here. They were the ones who started it, so they canât go anywhere! This is different from Kelseaâs case. Arielle isnât the heroine anymore.â
Wendy started wavering again.
One of the girls continued saying, âIf we back out now, they might arrest us for making a fake call!â
Wendy gritted her teeth and said, âOkay, then weâll wait for the police.â
No matter what, Arielle shouldnât have coerced that boy into using violence. It isnât like Iâm framing Arielle for something she hasnât done.
If that little boy is really Vinsonâs subordinate, then he could get a clear look at what Arielle is actually like.
At that thought, she gripped the edge of her skirt, and her sweet face suddenly morphed into a grim smile.
She looked over, only to see Arielle walking into the store with the boy.
The other two girls caught sight of the same thing.
The tall girl smirked and said, âI canât believe sheâs still in the mood to buy drinks! Sheâs probably just putting on an act to look calm when sheâs actually terrified on the inside.â
