Chapter 115
A deal with the devil
Chapter 115 She never thought she would lose to Shirley, let alone lose so badly.
In her three years as a professional race, this was the most crushing defeat sheâd ever faced.
It was so bad that it was almost unbearable to watch.
She finally understood where Shirleyâs confidence came from with that kind of power to wipe the floor with her in seconds, even Sabrina might not have stood a chance.
No wonder she had told Sabrina to spend the next month and a half working harder to brush up her skill But it was too late for regrets now. Everyone had witnessed how easily Shirley had dominated her.
How could she ever stay in the racing world again? How would her teammates mock her?
Janine stepped out of the car, eyeing Elizabeth She said, âWhatâs the matter? Did you lose your soul along with the race? Arenât you the one who was so eager to challenge Shirley? Go ahead, say it â âAll hail Your Majestyâ. Weâre waiting to hear it.â
The male racers around them joined in, chanting for Elizabeth to shout, âAll hail Your Majesty,â
Elizabeth tumed to Shirley, who was calmly getting out of the car Dorian in her anns. The words wouldnât come.
She just couldnât say it âGo on,â the crowd taunted. âA betâs a bet, right? Say it! âAll hail Your Majesty!!!
As Elizabeth scanned the crowd, she saw nothing but mocking and contemptuous faces.
Her eyes reddened, and she bit down on her lip, but the words stuck in her throat. It was pitiful, almost tragic.
Shirley leaned against her car, her eyes fixed on Elizabeth. Her smile was a cool, enigmatic curve that sent a chill down Elizabethâs spine. It was a cold and alluring look that no one dared to challenge.
Finally, Sabrina could no longer hold back. She said, âShirley, isnât this a little too much?
Elizabeth was one of Sabrinaâs team. And by humiliating Elizabeth, Shirley had indirectly humiliated Sabrina as well.
Shirley gave Janine an innocent look and asked, âDid I do anything wrong?
Janine shook her head. âNo. How could we be bullying anyone? Itâs Elizabeth whoâs been chasing us down, taunting us, thinking she could take on Shirley. She underestimated her own ability and got rushed. How is that our fault?!
She rumed to the onlookers and said, âYou all saw how she was strutting around like she owned the place, taunting Shitley, assuming she could beat her. But in the end, itâs her own arogance that got her wrecked. So tell me, how is that our fault?â
The crowd responded in unison, âNot at all.â
Most of the onlookers were clearâheaded to see the situation for what it Elizabethâs cocky attitude had been evident, and now she was trying to act pitiful after losing. It wasnât going to be that easy to play the victim.
Even the female racers couldnât hold back. âA loss is a loss. Admit it and say âAll hail Your Majestyâ. How hard can it be?â
Another woman chamed in, âExactly. Weâre all adults here. Losing a race isnât the end of the world, but throwing a tantrum over it? You were the one who insisted on the challenge, and now you want to cry about it?â
*Elizabeth, stop embarrassing us women,â the other racer interjected.
Elizabeth was overwhelmed with shame. But she still couldnât say the words..
If she did, het reputation in the racing world would be ruined forever.
