Chapter 91 Benjamin, clearly irritated, tossed his phone to her without a word.
Shirleyped it up but quickly realized she couldnât unlock it. âWhatâs the password?
Benjamin didnât even open his eyes. âMy birthday,â
She blinked, unsure. âAnd when in that?â
His eyes stapped open, sharp and impatient. âDidnât you look at the marriage certificate!â
She hadnât paid attention to something like his birthday.
âIâll check it now,â she said quickly Before he could respond, Shirley scrambled out of bed and rushed out of the room. A couple of minutes later, she was back, her soft, cheerful voice filling the air-
âBenjamin, your birthday is on the 1st of January?ââ
He replied flatly, âYeah.â
What a perfect day to be born! No wonder youâre so successful. Even your birthdayâs ahead of everyone elseâs. You were destined to be someone great!â Shirley pushed.
Benjamin shat her a cold look. âYouâre such a suckâup.
Unbothered, Shirley flashed him a playful grin. Her charming, mischievous expression was disarmingly endearing.
Benjaminâs gaze lingered on her for a moment before he looked away, closing his eyes again, suppressing an unfamiliar feeling stirring inside him.
With his birthday now in mind, Shirley unlocked the phone and immediately called her own number. It rang but went unanswered.
She tried again, then a third time, but still no response.
Shirley began to worry that she might have lost it somewhere. Just as she was about to give up, someone finally answered. But the voice on the other end made her freeze.
was Samuel. Her phone was with him.
âShirley? Is that you? Say something I know itâs you.âSamuel Ìs võire was hoarse-
Shirleyâs brows furrowed, and she ended the call.
Samuel called bark moments later.

He gripped her hand firmly, enough to make her wince in pain.
As their eyes met, walization dawned on Shirley. This wasnât about the call. It was about her Benjamin knew about her past with Samuel, and it bothered him. This was his way of testing her, trying to gauge how much Samuel still mattered to her.
She took a deep breath, forcing herself to relax. Earlier, sheâd told him to give her a chance, to try to understand her instead of shutting her out Now, he was putting her to the test. Benjamin released bei hand. Without hesitation, he answered the call and switched it to speaker.
