Chapter 6: Regular M&M's.

"Kayden!" I heard Noah yell from downstairs.

"What?" I yelled back.

"Come down here please." He asked.

So I walked down the stairs. In walked I mean stumbled and almost broke my ankle. I'm gifted.

"Woah there, are you okay?" Noah asked, "Do you need me to take you to the ER?" He became serious. Here is the thing about Noah, he is only serious when it comes to me for some reason, when he found out I was being shipped away to a boarding school he lost his shit. He was so worried he called every morning and night until he was sure I was okay. getting on topic again.

"Yeah I'm fine, don't you know your little sister? I fall all the time." I smiled at him and went to walk towards the couch when I felt that nothing was wrong with my ankle I sauntered over to the couch and plopped on it, noticing my parents are also there, I moved closer to my mom and wrapped my hands around her, I barely saw her yesterday.

"Hey hun," she smiled softly at me, "How are you?" She asked.

"I'm good mom, how was work yesterday?" I asked. My mom is a preschool teacher.

"It was good, you got a little burnt baby, does it hurt?" She booped my nose.

"When I fell from heaven and became the favorite child? Yeah." I joked.

She laughed and shook her head turning back to her book.

"Kay." My brother tugged me towards him.

"What?" I asked wrapping my hands around him now. I'm clingy sometimes.

"I want to bake something but I don't know how or what, can you help me?" He asked.

"Wrong person dude, I can barely cook an omelet." It's true, they turn out disgusting.

"So who does know?"

"You'd be surprised but Sophia, she is an amazing baker." Yeah, this one time in the hell hole we had a baking contest and we could use the home room supplies and stuff and our group won, needless to say that neither Isabella or I done anything but stare at Sophia.

"Can you ask her? I'm scared she'll hit me if I ask her." She can be scary, but she will never hit Noah.

"Sure, she's still sleeping though." I woke up on the floor with Sophia curled into my side and Isabella basically on top of me, de tangling myself from them was a challenge I succeeded though, they are both heavy sleepers so it wasn't that bad.

He gave me a pleading look, damn him and his puppy dog eyes that always work on me.

"Fine I'll wake her up, but if she murders me it's on you." I stated and stood up to walk back upstairs and wake up the beast. Scary.

"I'll take full responsibility!" He called after me.

I flipped him off, In a kind way...kinda.

When I reached my room I went straight towards Sophia, a little shaky though, I already said she is strong and scary.

"Soph," I whispered and nudged her shoulder a little, by this point I'm basically asking for a punch, "Sophia." I said softly, you don't want to scare her awake as well, I would know I lived with her for two years.

"Sophia wake up." I didn't whisper this time.

"I will shank you if you touch me again."

I immediately withdrew my hand from her shoulder.

"Come on Soph Noah needs your help." I tried to convince her.

"Noah?" She immediately opened her eyes and sat up. I knew that would get her up, don't tell her I told you but she likes Noah, it's not weird or anything she just thinks he's cute.

"Yes Noah, so can you please get up?" I asked.

"Yeah, I'll be down in a couple minutes ." She sleepily said.

I smiled and kissed her head, she smiled back at me and I got up and went downstairs.

When I reached the kitchen I saw Oliver talking with Noah, "Hey Smalls, good morning." He smiled at me.

"Morning." I said and went to grab water from the fridge, "Do you want anything?" I asked gesturing to the now open fridge.

"No, I'm good." He answered.

"Okay then." I sat down on the kitchen stool.

"Hey." The groggy morning voice of Sophia greeted us as she sat down next to me and took my water.

"Dude, get your own." I complained.

"No." She said as she drank from MY water, "So Noah, Kayden said you needed my help." She said while putting her head on my shoulder.

"Uh yeah I really want to bake something but I don't know what or how," My brother said, "And apparently she is a lost cause." Noah said while gesturing at me.

"Yeah you really shouldn't let her in the kitchen, she'll probably burn your house down." She teased.

I shoved her off my shoulder and put my right hand on my chest and the other wiping a fake tear mocking offense.

She swat at my hands and put her head on my shoulder again. Rude.

I started poking her until she got too annoyed and moved away from me. Success.

"You two are weird when you're together." Oliver chuckled at us.

"Wait till you see the three of us together, it's basically a war zone between Kay and I, and Bella trying to make sure we don't kill each other," yeah, Isabella was basically a referee for two years, "Wait now that I think about it, how did we survive living with each other for two years?" She asked me and I shrugged my shoulders, I'm even surprised I'm still alive.

"Brownies" Noah suddenly exclaimed, "That's what I want to bake." He said.

"Alright, do you have all the ingredients?" Sophia asked.

"Mom didn't go grocery shopping yet, so no." My brother reckoned.

"Well I just woke up so I'm not going grocery shopping." Sophia said, understandable.

"I hate grocery shopping." Noah suddenly looked over at me.

"No!" He gave me the look, "No, I'm not going, I'm not even the one who wants to bake something. And besides I don't have my license yet, and I am not walking." I stated.

"I'll go with you." Oliver suggested. DUDE.

"See Kayden, I'll even give you extra money so you can get M&M's." He knows I like them, this is blackmail.

"Fine." I grumbled.

"Thank you, I'll go get my wallet, Soph can you make a list of what they need to get please?" Noah said while already trudging up the stairs.

"Get me my shoes." I called after him.

"Okay." I heard him call back.

"I'll text you the list." Sophia said to me when Noah gave me the money and my shoes, I put them on and put the money in my pocket.

"Okay bye love you!" I called at them while walking out of the house with Oliver behind me.

"Love you too." Sophia called after me. Wow she's nice today.

Once both of us were in his Jeep and he started driving I learned forward and played with the radio until I reached the old songs station and You Give Love A Bad Name by Bon Jovi came on, my favorite song.

"I like this song." Oliver said while turning up the volume, as i hummed the words, "I see you like this song too." He smiled in my direction briefly and turned his gaze towards the road.

When we reached the grocery store I hopped out of his car and closed the door I went to grab a cart, they are more fun then the little baskets that hurt my arm.

Once both of us were in the grocery store, I checked my phone and I saw that Sophia did indeed send me a list.

I showed Oliver the list and both of us went to get the things we need, we reached the the baking isle and I went to grab the sugar from the top shelf, basically climbing the shelves, when I felt arms wrap around my waist and lift me from the shelf, I recognized said hands as Oliver's as he put me down on the floor.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"That was really dangerous Kay, you could've fell." He said and reached above me to get the sugar.

"Oliver?" A voice I don't recognize asked from behind me, I turned around and I may not have recognized her voice but I definitely recognize her face.

"Lexi? Hey, how are you?" Oliver asked, Lexi known as Oliver's girlfriend well ex girlfriend based on his question and the way Lexi's body language is more closed off, they were inseparable three years ago I guess not anymore.

"I'm good, wait Kayden? You're back?" She asked me.

"Yeah I came back a few days ago." I threw her a polite smile.

"You look amazing, did you do something with your hair?" Well kinda, I used to have bangs that were really unflattering and my hair was mostly in a ponytail too.

"No it just grew," I said, she was always fake with me for some reason, she used to compliment me on something and then laugh at that same thing with her friends, now that I think of it she was really a bitch to me.

"Oh well would you look at that, I have to go," yay, "I'll text you Oliver, we should catch up." She threw him a smile that means more than a smile if you know what I mean.

"Umm I would love to-" Oliver was interrupted.

"Great." She smiled.

"But, we have an itinerary this summer, don't we Kayden?" He looked at me.

"What? Oh yeah, it's really packed." I feel awkward, I always say the wrong shit in awkward situations, I'm going to keep quiet, it's better for everyone involved.

"Oh, well I'm sure Kayden won't mind if you spare an hour or two, right Kayden?" She asked. Bitch I would.

"Oh I didn't make the itinerary, but I'm sure our group would mind if our friend is not with us." Was I rude? Probably. Do I care? No.

"Oh okay, so we'll come up with something Oliver. I'll text you." She said and walked away, putting extra attention to swaying her hips more then usual.

"You broke up?" I asked Oliver, "Wait no you don't have to answer that, it's non of my business." I said.

"No it's fine smalls, yeah we broke up like six months after you left." He said while pushing the cart to get more of the ingredients.

"Is it okay if I asked why?" I asked while walking next to him. He nodded.

"I just wasn't in love with her anymore actually I don't think I was even in love with her, sure I loved her but I wasn't in love with her, so I broke up with her I didn't want to waste her time or mine." He said.

"Understandable." I said, I never know what to say in these situations.

I looked at the list again and saw that we only needed baking powder now, luckily it was on a shelf I can reach so I grabbed it and put it in the cart and started wheeling it towards the self checkout, it's quicker.

"Can you wait a sec? I forgot to grab something." Oliver asked.

"Yeah sure." I stopped wheeling the cart and stood next to a random shelf, waiting for him as he walked through the aisles.

When he came back I saw he was holding an M&M's pack, "You like the regular one right?" He asked, my heart squeezed a little.

"Yeah, thank you Oly." I smiled brightly at him.

"You're welcome smalls." He smiled back.
