Chapter - 44
Abhor & Amour
Singhania Mansion
Mumbai, India
Sanjana's POV:
After our lovemaking, I am lying in Akshay's arms. He is in deep thoughts as he caress my back.
"What are you thinking about?" I interrogated though I am fully satiated my curiosity not so much.
"You have to know everything, don't you?" He teased while pinching my side breast. I squealed at his sudden attack.
"Tell me." I demanded while holding his hand in order to prevent him from any tricks.
"Your body has changed." He muttered while appreciatively gazing at my upper naked self. His brazen gaze made me shy and I drew the sheets to cover me up.
"Baby, I have seen it all and many times." He laughed at my attempt to cover my modesty.
"You are so shameless, just go away." I groaned while hiding my face in my hands.
"Just a while ago, you were desperate to diminish even a inch of space between and now you are telling me to go away. Well, you take 180° turn way too fast." He mocked me while drawing me in his arms.
"Let me go, Akshay. Its day time and I need to have a talk with Ma." I said after a while when I realised he has no intention of getting out or letting me get out of the bed.
"Whatever you want to talk with Mom, you can always talk with me." His grip on me tightening.
"Okay, tell me then what should I do when I have morning sickness tomorrow?" I sarcastically asked.
"Go but come fast." He muttered sleepily his eyes drooping. He has not been able to sleep even for 5 hours since last few days. At some point, he also needs rest.
"I will." I promised while kissing him on his temple. With that I exited the room only to find Alex coming this way. Akshay has just slept and I cannot let this brute wake him.
"How can I help you, Alex?" I asked while making sure to block the door.
"Some matters needs immediate attention of Mr. Singhania." He politely muttered with his usual emotionless face.
"And may I know what these matters are?" I asked while crossing my arms. It is my battle ready position.
"It's some business matters." He evaded the question.
"Just tell me one thing, you are CSO of Singhania Corporation and you do not hold any executive position, so why are you discussing business matters with him not his secretary?" I asked. Seeing him unable to answer I raised a mocking brow at him.
"It's because I am his right hand man." He said unsurely after a while. I scoffed at his answer.
"Why don't you just say you can't tell me?" I interrogated him.
"Actually, I am not quite sure if I can tell you or not." His stance changing a little seeing my elated expression.
"You mean Akshay has said something about me being involved in business matters." I gushed elatedly.
"Not particularly." He answered deflating all my happiness.
"You can leave then, Akshay is sleeping. And, you can go to Amber's Cafe for your date tomorrow at 6 in evening." I dryly muttered and left him gaping like an idiot at the door.
Akshay's POV:
I woke up after a nap of two hours only to find Sanjana missing. Has not she said she will be here? Where are you woman? The right question should be what this woman is upto now?
Her thought made me smile to myself. My life has changed so much after she became a part of it. Earlier, it was monotonous but now it is vibrant. And that is only because of my crazy wife. She came like a whirlwind in my life and swept away all the sadness in my heart.
My breakup with Ahaana was not very normal. The end of that relationship was as bitter as its reality and that woman even had the audacity to be in front of me after what she has done. Whatever. She does not matter an ounce to me.
Who matters to me is my wife and soon to be mother of my child. Sanjana is just special. She cannot be described in words. She is not perfect but her flaws are what makes her perfect to me. What she does not know about life being so young does not matter, I will teach her. She is just 24, she has a lot to learn. I guess being a mother will help her a lot in dealing with life.
Life is not just a cakewalk and it has not been that for our marriage but Sanjana has managed it with maturity. She is independent, strong yet sensitive, mature yet enjoys life. She is what helps me to get through a day easier.
I drag myself out of thoughts of my wife and get myself dressed before going to my office while texting Sanjana letting her know I am awake and that she has to pay for her broken promise.
Alex was waiting for me in my office. "Sir, your secretary is on the line." He did not even waited for me to be seated before he forwarded the cell to me to take the call.
"Singhania." I muttered.
"Noon Sir, I have head of social welfare on the extension 1. It is urgent regarding the case matter Mrs. Singhania is involved with." My secretary informed me. I listened to her before pressing the said extension.
"Noon Sir, We have the govt interference and monitoring with the case Mrs. Singhania is dealing with. All the details have been sent to CSO." I hang up as soon as I have what I needed to know. I glanced toward Alex he understanding me start with presenting the printed details sent to me.
" I have calibrated the information we have from the govt. agency with what we have and after a thorough analysis we have a detailed route of how Rakesh operates and through that we can trace it to him." He explained briefly before going through the meta critics of the same.
I was studying the papers sent to me when a knock resonated through the room. That must be Sanjana." Come in. " I permitted before delving into the next construction project we have.
It was not Sanjana but Kirti. She rarely comes to my office. She glanced nervously around.
"Sit." I ordered pointing to the couch.
"I will be back in a minute, Sir." Alex muttered and when I nodded at him, he left.
I closed the file and made my way to couch. I have an indication of what she wants to talk. I waited for her to start patiently which I have been told way too many times that I lack. After two minutes when she did not opened her mouth "Speak, Kirti." I gritted out. My patience already running thin.
"It's nothing. I am sorry." With that she tried to get away hastely.
"Sit down, Now." I roared. What is she afraid of? Has not she learnt that she need to be independent and strong if she wants to survive the brutality of society against the women particularly.
She meekly obeyed. Tears flowing from her eyes like waterfall. I cannot let her tears affect me. She needs to learn to fight her own battles if being in Sanjana's company has also failed to make her understand this simple fact then she is going to do it hard way. My way.
"What is it that you wanted to talk about?" I asked her coldly. When she did not respond I continued, "If you are not going to talk, I will find it my way."
"Alex..." I shouted making her startled.
"I... I w..w..will talk." she gasped out. Her tear not stopping. Akshay don't let her tears effect you. I reminded myself.
Alex appeared and I dismissed him with a wave of my hand. He left us and I indicated Kirti to start talking. She first helped herself with a glass of water and then started "Vijay's.. m.. mother has asked me sign the Venice properties's I have to his sister's name." She closed her eyes as soon as she finished fearing my reaction. As if I don't know what's happening with my sister.
"Give me your phone." I said. She handed me. I dialled her soon to be mother in law and put it on speaker.
"Deny her." I commanded, she glanced at me with so much helplessness in her eyes as if I had asked her life from her.
I hugged her. "I am with you. I will deal with aftermath. You deny her. Take your decisions fearlessly. Never be afraid of anyone. Aftermath will be mine to deal with." I encouraged her.
"Have you decided Kirti? Of course, you have I will send papers to you asap." That woman started without preamble.
I squeezed Kirti's hand to let her know I am with her. "I am not doing it." She said in full conviction.
"What? I guess I have heard you wrong?" The surprise in that woman's voice was notable.
"You heard right." It was time to set this women straight.
"Akshay?" She gasped.
"The one and only. This is my last warning to you. If you ever tried to harass Kirti in anyway I will toss your sorry asses into jail. I was only waiting for Kirti to take first step and now she has done it, you try to harm her in anyway and I will fucking destroy you." I let all the coldness and fury I was feeling seep into my voice and with that I cut the call.
"Akshay, thank you." Kirti said while hugging me tightly. And that was how my mother found us.
"Is not it a lovely sight? " Mom teased me.
"Now off you go Kirti, I have work." I gritted out while entangling myself from her.
"And the Akshay is back." Kirti commented and dragged Mom with her as I shook my head at the women and their antics.
