Love is Epic
He Healed My Heart
SPENCER
âHurry up,â I hollered.
It was full steam ahead in our happy little paradise. Harper was running around like an insane person, looking everywhere for her shoes.
âDonât yell at me, Spencer, this is your damn dogâs fault.â
âDo not blame an innocent animal. Youâre only assuming it was him.â
âUh-huh... Goddammit, Rusty, where is he?â She growled.
Secretly I was kind of turned on about the fact that over these past few weeks she had learned to growl like us wolves.
Harper comes barreling into the kitchen with her chewed up sneaker in her hand. âWhere is that dog?â
âNow, sweet cheeks, you canât blame him, we donât even know if it was him.â She narrows her eyes at me.
âDid you chew it?â
I flashed her the most offensive look I could muster as my vision caught Levi and Rusty, army crawling on their bellies along the floor behind her as she stood there in her accusation stance.
âYes, Harper, one night, my wolf and I got hungry and thought your shoe looked delicious,â I replied sarcastically, trying desperately not to alert her to the movement going on behind her.
âWell, then there is only one culpritâ¦â just then Rusty barked and she spun around, spotting the two on the floor, âRusty!â She screamed.
âRun, buddy, run!â Levi called, and like lightning Rusty shot out through the dog door.
âGet back hereâ¦â Harper slumped her shoulders, and Leivon brushed himself off as he stood up.
âMom,â he says, putting his hand on her hip, âit wasnât Rusty⦠I ate your shoe.â
I burst into laughter. She looked down at him with an annoyed and defeated face, âDid you justââ
âYep, itâs time I let you in on a secret, Mom.â
âAnd whatâs that?â She inquired, tossing her sneaker into the bin.
âI am a tiger.â
Harperâs head shot up skyward as she groaned out painfully; all of this I found so hilarious.
âFine, youâre a tiger and you ate my shoe.â She dragged her palm over her face. âWhat am I going to wear now?â
I had recently taken a liking to slapping Harperâs bum, so when Levi copied my action and gave his mom a good hard smack on her rear end.
I almost keeled over and died. âGlad we could see eye-to-eye on this, Mom,â he praised, âsee you in the car.â
She whipped around with her finger pointed directly at me. âYou...you are responsible for that.â
I wiped the tears from my eyes.
âCâmon it was cute. He smacked your butt and everything.â

We arrived at the ultrasound clinic after making a quick stop to get Harper some new sneakers, ready for our twelve-week scan.
Levi was so excited as we waited in the room, his little legs kept swinging backward and forward as his toes did not reach the floor from where he sat.
Me, I was nervous. I had never been through this before and I was dying to see just how far we had progressed.
There were some weird gurgling sounds coming from my stomach as it churned, mainly because I was too damn giddyâall I had today was coffee.
As the sonographer prepped Harper, tucking in the paper towels and lathering up the lower abdomen with gel, sweet cheeks was watching me curiously.
âWhatâs up?â I questioned her.
âNothing, you seem nervous.â
âIâm not,â I lied. I was sweating bullets but she didnât need to know that.
âOkay,â she replied, completely unconvinced by my words.
âWhat are we hoping for?â the sonographer asked.
âCan we see this early?â I screeched in excitement.
She laughed at me, âNo, Deputy Marcelo, it was just a question. I was simply curious.â
âYou canât ask those questions, it leads people on,â I chastised her. She laughed at me again.
âAlright, letâs have a look at your baby.â She placed the paddle onto Harperâs stomach rolling it around as a grainy image appeared on the screen.
âThere you are,â she commented.
The white dots formed an oval shape around the edge of the screen and a baby appeared in the middle, clear as day.
My heart was beating so fast it almost leaped out of my chest.
I stared in amazement, you could see a head shape, a body, two arms, and two legs.
My chin began to quiver.
~Thatâs mine, that is my child.~
There, for all of us to see was my baby, I just couldnât believe it. The first scan was just a dot on a screen but now it was formed.
âBaby is growing well, itâs about two and a half inches, roughly the size of your palm.â I looked down at my hand. It was only tiny, but man was it incredible.
âWhy is it white?â Levi threw out of nowhere.
We all chuckled.
âThatâs just the image, currently the skin tone would be a nice eggshell color,â the sonographer replied.
âYou okay, coach?â Leviâs small but delicate hand squeezed my thigh, and I looked up at him with slightly blurred vision.
I pulled him into my arms.
âThatâs my baby,â I croaked out.
Harper rubbed my forearm as tears fell from her eyes and a breathtaking smile adorned her face. âDonât cry, you make me cry.â
âIâm crying?â I queried in surprise.
âYep, a lot,â Levi squeaked out, pulling himself from my death grip. I ran my hand over my faceâshit, I am crying. I truly hadnât realized.
At that moment, I was struck with the most profound and overwhelming feeling of adoration? Adulation? Tenderness?
No, this powerful feeling was complete and utter love. Raw, emotional, unexpected, and worshipping love.
âGod, I love youâ¦â my teeth chattered as I snapped my head between Harper and Levi, âI love all three of you so much.â
A sob tore from Harperâs throat.
âWell, thatâs nice of you, I rather enjoy being loved,â the sonographer replied.
I paled for a moment. âOh, Iâm sure youâre lovely but Iâ¦I meant the baby being the third person I love.â
She snickered behind her hand, âI know, Deputy Marcelo, I was just teasing you.â
A wave of relief washed over me as Harperâs giggles filled the air.
âWould you like to hear the heartbeat?â
âYes,â I practically screamed. âI meanâ¦yes, please.â
We climbed into my truck as I gazed lovingly upon the image in my hand.
âSpencer,â I turned to see sweet cheeks looking at me tensely with wide eyes.
âYes, fiancé?â I beamed back.
âAre we planning on driving anywhere today? Or are you just going to stare at the picture?â
My face fell. âYou just ruined my moment,â I scorned.
She chuckled. âSorry.â
âI have a questionâ¦â Levi announced, both of us turned in our seats to focus on him. âWhen do I start calling you Dad?â
I froze, my mouth hung open, could my life really get any better right now?
âImmediately,â I pushed out shakily, âif you want to?â
âCool, just checking.â
Levi leaned back in his seat and gazed out the window.
I swear nothing was going to be able to take the smile off of my faceâever.

Putting the book on Leviâs bedside table, I pulled up his quilt and tucked it around his body, bending down to kiss his forehead.
âSweet dreams, cowboy,â I whispered into his ear.
âNight, Dad,â he mumbled sleepily.
I froze again, drawing both lips between my teeth and biting down hard.
This was an epic moment for me as pure elation boiled up inside my chest, both my wolf and I were completely gobsmacked.
I clenched my fists tightly and tensed my whole body, doing a tiny jig on the spot.
Levi rolled over breaking my happy dance haze and I slipped quietly out of his room.
I practically ran into Harper as she sat on the couch with Rustyâclearly, he had been forgiven, far quicker than I ever wasâonly to find her eyes closed with her budget book in her hand.
I was saddened by the fact that despite us being mated, engaged, her carrying my child and us living together, she still worried about finances.
But this also gave me the opportunity to do something I had been wanting to do for a few weeks now.
Creeping into my study, I opened the drawer and extracted the large envelope. When I came back into the room, I carefully extracted the book, the pen, and the calculator from her hand.
Klein Humphries, the branch managerâand pack memberâhad allowed me to set up a bank account in both of our names, or rather Mr. and Mrs. Marcelo, and had given us each a bank card.
Thank God for small, independently owned banks, that would have never been allowed in the city.
Technically, we were already married, being fully bonded. But in the eyes of the world, we needed to sign the marriage certificate.
I wrote under her weekly budget configurations, she hadnât finished, so no doubt sheâd discover it tomorrow.
~Mrs. H. Marcelo,~
~You no longer have to concern yourself with this. We are bound indefinitely, remember?~
~I love you, sweet cheeks, donât be mad at me.~
~Keep your money for family fun and shopping trips when you feel like spoiling our kids.~
~Here is a card to our joint account, the credit card is for the wedding.~
~Aloha Nui Loa (All my love) â your mom has been teaching me.~
~Your Husband to-be.~
It felt right, though I knew sheâd be slightly mad. She was a stubborn thing, especially when it came to relying on someone else.
She should have realized the moment I marked her that this was it, her and me for eternity.
I placed her budget book on her bedside table and went back to collect her in my arms. As I carried her to our bed, tucking her under the blankets, I noticed just how stunning she looked.
I couldnât help the sudden rise in my pants and the overwhelming urge to take her. Would she be upset with me?
Deciding to go for it, I raced around the house checking everything was locked and then stripped bare.
I realized earlier she had worn the flimsiest of shorts, so gaining access wouldnât be hard. I lifted the end of the blanket and crawled under.
Parting her legs, carefully hooking my finger in and pulling the flimsy material to the side, I moaned and then released a guttural growl of pleasure from the back of my throat.
She had not worn panties. Licking my lips, I extended my tongue and swiped it along her fleshy folds.
Lost in my feast as she started to writhe below my mouth, the blanket was suddenly ripped away from my head, my eyes met hers as a smirk danced along her mouth.
âYou gave me a heart attack,â she chuckled, before replacing the blanket and lying back down.
âYou didnât think it was Rusty, did you? Sweet cheeks, you kinky woman,â I mumbled before biting her clit, her yelp sent a thrill ricocheting through me.
âThatâs a terrible thing to joke about,â she reprimanded. I tickled her clit with the tip of my tongue, âGod, donât stop,â she cried out.
Yes, this has been one hell of a day and itâs about to get better.
