Chapter 23

Sanem had gone home with Emre and Leyla, Sanem was in the pool house with Leyla, she kept looking out the window to see if Can's car was in the driveway. It was 11 at night and he still wasn't home.

Can had gone to visit Metin and Akif, he needed to talk to his two best friends.

METIN: " Can, I never did like Polen, she always struck me as the sneaky type."

AKIF: " I agree, she is beautiful, and for you it was an easy lay, coming back from a long trip, but there was definitely something about her I didn't like."

CAN: "you know I made myself clear from the beginning, no commitment and she agreed."do you know she keeps calling and leaving messages saying she knew nothing about the photographer being there."

METIN: "and I'm sorry to say Can, Polen is not done yet.  listen Can, Sanem is a sweetheart, she has a pure heart. She will come around."

CAN: "I hope so."

AKIF: "I agree, this is just a setback, unfortunately the photographer that took the picture was a pro, definitely out for gossip."

CAN: " yes, unfortunately, Polen must of paid him a good buck!." Can was so frustrated, he didn't want to go home. " Metin, is it okay if I spend the night, I'm not ready to face Sanem's anger yet."

METIN: " sure brother, stay as long as you like. Oh by the way, I didn't get the chance to tell you, the club that Sanem was working at, I got it shut down. They had a lot of violations, plus it seems that he made some girls do sexual acts for extra money."

CAN: "wow those poor girls , thank god Sanem got out when she did. I saw that it was shut down, you know one night Sanem and I were walking by the pier and he bumped into Sanem, he was very drunk? He blamed Sanem for the closing of the club."

METIN: " probably because that night when she argued with him, I went over and talked to him on Sanem's behalf and the other girls, he knew I know Sanem. And he knows I'm the one who shut him down.

He pissed me off so much that night. If I tell you half the things he said about Sanem you would kill him.

You know I'm big on women's rights Can, he was disrespectful to all the women in there. I had to do something."

CAN; "I'm glad you did, he deserves it. Hopefully he learned his lesson, but highly doubt it."

METIN: " I agree, okay, let's have a drink and relax."

The guys stayed up most of the night talking and drinking. Can is definitely going to have a hangover tomorrow.

Sanem was worried, why hasn't he come home, is he with her. She couldn't get that picture out of her head.

LEYLA; " Sanem, why do you keep looking out the window. Are you looking to see if Can came home."

SANEM: " Leyla I'm so mad at him, but I don't want him to be with her, it's twelve midnight and he still isn't home. He's probably with her."

LEYLA: " but you told him you two should take a break, didn't you? so you can't blame him Sanem, right now you pushed him away, But just because he's not home it doesn't mean he's with her, maybe he's at a friend's house. He was very upset Sanem. He might be telling the truth you know." Meanwhile Leyla knows Can is at Metin's house, Emre texted her. She has to figure it out for herself that Can is telling the truth.

SANEM: " yeh, right, he always went to her after his photo shoots, that's what he told me, it was like a sexual release for him. And she always made sure she was there for him." "Uhg Leyla, I'm so mad at him. I just want to scream."

LEYLA: " maybe you should talk to him calmly"

SANEM: " No, I can't not yet, he probably doesn't even care, he has his pick of women he doesn't need me."

LEYLA: " Sanem, I don't think that's true, did you see how angry he was at Kerem, I have to tell you I thought he was going to tear him apart. He was definitely jealous, and if he didn't care he wouldn't have come looking for you."

SANEM: "Good! I hope he was jealous! He deserves it, I'm tired of being the only one who gets hurt."

Leyla why didn't he throw away the picture I found, why did he save it and keep it in his drawer. If he didn't love her he wouldn't have kept it."

LEYLA: " I think if he cared about her, he would have had it in a frame on top of his dresser, I think you're just being stubborn and making excuses."

SANEM: "maybe, I don't know, I just need time."

LEYLA; "okay, take your time, Sanem, I'm sure he's not going to push you, he knows how angry you are."

The next morning, Sanem went into the main house to make breakfast, she hears the front door open, and sees Can walk by the kitchen, he stops looks in and sees Sanem, she looks at him, but they didn't say anything to each other. Sanem turned her head back and started cooking again. " he could have said something, Can Divit you make me so angry, was he with her, he looked like he had a rough night." Girl I think you should listen to him, you're not being fair. I said leave me alone.!

MIRIBAN; good morning Sanem, how are you this morning."

SANEM: " I'm fine, and you?"

MIRIBAN: " I'm okay, listen Sanem, when you're ready I'm here for you." Sanem smiled and nodded her head.

Can was in his room, he looked at the picture that Sanem found and tears it up and throws it in the garbage. he took a shower, and got dressed for work, he decided to grab breakfast on his way to work. He wasn't ready to deal with Sanem, she still looked very angry, and upset."

Aziz knocked on Can's door.

AZIZ: " Can son, are you okay, you look like you have one hell of a hangover."

CAN: " I do have a hangover, my head is pounding, but this thing with Sanem, I'm worried, she doesn't even want to look at me. I wish she would let me explain."

AZIZ: " son, those pictures for her were devastating, how would you have felt if you seen her in pictures like that."

CAN: " I know baba, but nothing happened, she set me up."

AZIZ: " I know son, give her time, this too will pass, who said true love was easy, come let's go have breakfast."

CAN: " no I'm going to get something on my way to work. I can't sit there and watch how upset she is with me."

AZIZ; " okay, I won't force you, don't worry, everything will work out."

Everyone sat down to breakfast, Sanem didn't set a plate for Can, but she didn't think that he wouldn't show up. She was so upset. She couldn't eat. Everyone tried to make light conversation but she wasn't in the mood. Where did he go, he came home this morning and left again.

Sanem got up to clear the table, Leyla and Miriban were helping her.

MIRIBAN: " Sanem dear, I know you're upset that Can didn't come to breakfast. He went to work."

SANEM: " that's okay, I'm not upset really."

MIRIBAN: "'your internship starts today, are going to come in with me?"

SANEM: "I don't know Miriban, maybe later, I'm going to finish some of my homework."

MIRIBAN: "okay, see you later dear."

Miriban left for work, Sanem finished cleaning up the kitchen and sat down to finish her homework. She finished but her mind kept wandering to Can. Maybe he is telling the truth. Maybe I'll go to the agency, I do want to see him, I miss him, does he miss me? Uhg Sanem.

Sanem was cleaning up, she did some wash and went to put clean towels in Can's bathroom. She looked to see if the picture was out on the dresser. She found a piece of paper on the floor picked it up and went to throw it in the garbage and she sees the picture torn up in a thousand pieces. She was so happy, maybe we should talk. She got ready to go to the agency. She was excited to go see him, Polen probably did trick him.

AZIZ: " Can, Arzu is coming today, we have a photo shoot tomorrow with her, the only way she would sign is if you did the photo shoot. Sorry son, it's a big account, and we can use it."

CAN: "'ah baba she's so clingy and annoying, I hate the way she hangs on me and flirts. It's very hard to be nice to her."

AZIZ: " I know son, it's just tomorrow, it will be at the house.  So it will be easier to get rid of her."

CAN:" okay baba, but don't expect me to be friendly it's all business,"

AZIZ: Can a little friendly will help, okay, it's only a meeting today and shoot tomorrow."

CAN: " fine dad, did Sanem come today, she was supposed to start her internship."

AZIZ: " not yet, I know she had homework to finish. Maybe she will be in later."

CAN: " what time is Arzu coming?"

AZIZ: " she will be here soon."

Sanem entered the agency, CeCe was very happy to see her, Guliz welcomed her and she was introduced to everyone in the office. Leyla and Miriban went and greeted her, they were so happy she came, and she seemed better than this morning.

Sanem was looking around for Can, but couldn't find him. He's probably in his office. Or maybe lunch.

Sanem noticed that Leyla and Miriban seemed nervous.

SANEM: "Miriban, Leyla, is everything okay?"

LEYLA: "everything is fine, why don't we go out to lunch."

SANEM: "I just got here, I want to start learning."

LEYLA: "let's go get something and we will eat it in my office, I'm hungry, Sanem."

SANEM: okay, fine, let me get my bag,"

Leyla and Sanem start heading out to get lunch, when they  hear a women's laugh and Sanem looks at the entrance and sees Can walking in with Arzu, she has both of her arms wrapped around Can's arm, hugging him. Sanem just stood there in shock, she couldn't believe it. And Can is  looking at Arzu smiling.

Can turned and saw Sanem staring at him, she had tears in her eyes. Leyla is watching Sanem, she knows what Sanem is thinking. This is not good!

Miriban saw from Aziz's office what just happened.

MIRIBAN: " Aziz, Can and Sanem's situation just got worse. This not good."

AZIZ: "'We will explain to her, that Darin was with them. But Arzu is just a big flirt especially with Can.

Damn, Can didn't want this meeting with her, but I pushed him, because she wanted him for the photo shoot, or she wouldn't do it."

MIRIBAN: I'm worried, Sanem doesn't look good."

Can let go of Arzu, and tried to go over to Sanem,

But Arzu grabbed his arm again.

ARZU: " Can, come let's go to your office " and she starts pulling him. Can, pushed her arm away and started walking over to Sanem.

He tried to hold Sanem hand, but she pulled it away from him.

SANEM: " You seem happy Can, good for you, I'm glad our breakup didn't interfere with your new relationship, I'm leaving, I have a lunch date." She started walking out, Arzu is calling him, and Miriban takes Arzu to the conference room.

CAN: " Sanem, please don't leave, let's talk, it's not what you think."

SANEM: "it's never what I think Can. That's okay, have your fun. Maybe it's for the best. We probably really don't belong together. We're very different you and I."

Leyla couldn't believe this is happening, she feels bad for both of them.

LEYLA: Sanem, Derin was with them, he wasn't alone with her.  Arzu is just a pain. Come to my office and I will explain everything, please."

SANEM: " no, I'm leaving " Can grabbed her by the hand and said  " No you're not going anywhere, you're staying here with me, he grabs her by the hand and takes her in his office"

SANEM: Can, what are you doing,  don't touch me , your new girlfriend might get jealous."

CAN: "Sanem, stop it, (Can was irritated) Derin was with us, shes just a big pain in my ass and a damn flirt. We have a photo shoot tomorrow, and she wouldn't do it unless I did the photo shoot, I was just being nice because we need her for the advertisement. The customers wanted her"

SANEM: awww you're such nice guy Can, if you were asked to have sex with her would you have , because that's who the customers wanted and the only way she would do the shoot was with you!!

CAN: "Sanem, I would never do something like that, please, let's talk, let's leave and go home and talk."

SANEM: no I have a lunch date with Kerem, you're not the only one Can who can have hot women all over him, I can have hot men all over me too, and maybe I like it just like you!!"

CAN: " Sanem, you are not going anywhere with him, I won't allow." She starts to walk out of the office.

SANEM: "try to stop me " he picks her up and puts  her over his shoulder. " Can put me down!!"

CAN: " we're going to talk privately."

SANEM " Can, you big bear , put me down, now!!"

He slaps her on her ass and says " No this is getting cleared up today!!"

SANEM: " ouch!!, did you have to slap my butt!!

CAN: " yes, I love your beautiful ass!!" Even though she is mad at Can right now, Sanem couldn't help but smile a little.

Everyone was watching them in the office. Aziz and Miriban were smiling, Emre and Leyla were worried.

LEYLA: " Miriban, Aziz, why are you smiling? Look at how angry they are with each other"

MIRIBAN: "because, those two are so much in love, they can't be without each other.

Don't worry Leyla, Emre, they will be just fine. Right Aziz."

" Yes, they will my dear."
