Chapter 55

The next couple of weeks were busy, McKinnon was very pleased so far with everything.

MCKINNON: "Can, so far everything looks great, I can't wait to see the end results"

CAN: "Thank you Max, I'm very happy also, but if you have any questions please just ask."

MCKINNON; " I will, I have a question for Sanem, the perfume you have on is beautiful, what are you wearing."

SANEM: "Actually, I make it, it's a cream. It's my grandmother's recipe."

MCKINNON: "I don't suppose you're willing to share, I think it would be a number one seller."  Sanem smiled

SANEM: "thank you Max, but this one is my personal favorite, plus it's Can's too. Sentimental reasons."

He smiled kindly.

MCKINNON: "I understand, and I agree with you if it's sentimental no one else should have it."

SANEM: "but I do have a couple of more creams, maybe you will like them and then maybe we can do business together." He looks at her and smiles and looks at Can

MCKINNON: "I would love to Sanem, we will set up something soon."

SANEM: "Thank you, I'm sure you will like the other creams just as much, and they are all organic."

MCKINNON: "even better, most people these days prefer organic, I do to. Much healthier and better for the environment.  Well I'm off, think of a name for your creams Sanem, you might go through my company to make them, but this is your product not mine." Sanem couldn't stop smiling, I will and Can will be my partner. Thank you so much Max!!"

Sanem was so excited, she couldn't stop smiling, "Can, this is something isn't it, you are okay for being my partner aren't you?"  He pulls her chair closer to him, Takes her hand and kisses it. "Partner's in every way for life." And kisses her.

SANEM: "awww I love you Can, let's try to think of a name."

CAN: "once we think of a name Metin will draw up a patten." She grabs his  cheeks scratching his beard and kisses him.

The rest of the afternoon was pretty quiet, Can and Sanem were ready to go home when Metin stopped in.

CAN; "Metin, how are you, I hope you have good news."

METIN: "hello Can,  Sanem, did I catch you at a bad time?"

SANEM: "we were just getting ready to leave. That's all, is everything okay?"

METIN: "actually, I have good news, the judge is awarding you and Leyla all of Ahmets assets, he had a sister, they weren't very close, she had her own issues, she died of an overdose. So everything will go to the two of you."

SANEM: "wow, how much is it?"

METIN: "1.6 million dollars." Sanem and Can were in shock, they couldn't believe how much money that jerk was worth. "So eight hundred thousand to you and then eight hundred thousand to Leyla. Do you still want to disburse your share like we had discussed, the girls home, orphanage and your aunt and uncle?"

SANEM: "yes, they need it more than I do, oh and don't forget Aslan and Baris the two boys that helped when I was kidnapped, I want college funds set up for them to."

METIN: " okay, come to my office next week and we will discuss everything"

SANEM: "Thank you Metin, for everything."

METIN: "my pleasure, now I'm of to see my love, I think I heard her yell at CeCe a moment ago."

Can and Sanem laughed.

CAN: "Actually you've calmed her she doesn't yell as much. Thank you for that." Metin started laughing "no problem brother, see you soon."

It's was Friday afternoon and Can went down to the file room to find Sanem.

CAN:bebek are you ready to go home?"

SANEM: "yes, in a couple of minutes, I'm looking for my cream, I always keep one in my purse, but it's not there, maybe I dropped it in your office, let's go check."

They go upstairs to Can's office but it wasn't there.

SANEM: "hmmm that's wierd, I don't know what I did with it."

CAN: "maybe you left it at home."

SANEM: "I'll check but I don't think I did, oh well, I have more at home, maybe I dropped it somewhere else, anyway, let's get going my love, I'm really tired today"

CAN: "are you getting sick? Are you going to be okay for your book signing tomorrow."

SANEM: "I think so, I think I'm just on overload, between work, my book and school, sometimes I feel a little overwhelmed."

CAN: "then you need to slow down bebek, you're almost done with school, in two months you will be a graduate."

SANEM: "do you believe it, and then the week after is our wedding. I can't wait " he pulls her into a hug and gives her a kiss.

CAN: "I can't wait till we're married my love, do you still want to go to the US for a book signing and honeymoon?"Sanem has a huge smile

SANEM: "I do, but only if you're happy to go to "

CAN: "Bebek as long as I am with you I'll go anywhere. Come on let's go home so you can rest, you have A big day tomorrow."

They got home that evening and Sanem was trying to decide what to wear for the book signing. She finally picked out a simple little sundress and put it to the side. When she emptied out her purse she noticed that the recipe for her cream was gone. That's so weird they both fell out of my purse.

CAN: "Sanem, come eat something, you didn't eat much today" Can is looking at her she looks confused"

"Bebek what's wrong are you okay?"

SANEM: "remember I told you I lost my cream?"

CAN:" yes did you find it?"

SANEM: "no, but I lost the recipe for it too."

CAN: "do you need it? I would think you would know how to make it without the written recipe."

SANEM: "I do, but I need to buy some oils for my creams and I used something different last time,  and I really liked it so I wrote it down so I can remember which one it was."

CAN: "do you remember which one it was?"

SANEM: "Actually I do, I guess it's no big deal. It's just strange that I lost both, actually no it's not because I just remembered I had the recipe wrapped around the jar with a rubber band." he hugged her and kisses her forehead.

CAN: "well I guess it's good that you have a good memory."

SANEM: "after making it for so many years I better remember" she starts giggling. And wraps her arms around his neck. " You know I think I'm going to blame it on you."

CAN: "why me?"

SANEM: "because ever since I met you my brain is loopy I can't think straight I become like jello" she smiles and gives him a kiss.

CAN: "I'm glad I have that effect on you, because you do the same to me. Come let's go have dinner and relax, you need a break. Are you nervous about tomorrow?"

SANEM: "maybe a little.  But I know what to expect, it should be fine"

CAN: "bebek, I'm so proud of you, you have no idea. After everything you've been through, you still come through"

SANEM: "Thank you my love, but without your support I don't think I could have done what I did"

He hugged her and kissed her.

CAN: "and you will always have my love and support, I'm always here for you."

The next day the whole family showed up for the book signing. Including some uninvited guests.

SANEM: "Achia, Ela, what are you doing here, it can't be for support."

ACHIA: "We came to see what the fuss is about. , I hear this is going to be a number one seller."

SANEM: " We will see, what other reason are you here for, oh wait let me guess." Right then Kaan interupts them.

KAAN: "good morning Sanem, ( and he looks at the two women.) hello I'm Kaan Sanem's' publisher."

SANEM: "Kaan this Ela, an employee at the agency and this is Achia a client."

KAAN: "nice to meet you both" Kaan is looking at Ela and she's looking at him. And Sanem noticed. Hmmm

Could these two be interested in each other? Achia just giving Sanem dirty looks but Sanem just ignores her.

"Well ladies it was nice meeting you both, Sanem we start in ten minutes."

SANEM: "thank you Kaan."

ACHIA: "very handsome publisher, isn't he Sanem."

Ela turns and looks at Achia, because she's interested in Kaan now.

SANEM: "maybe, but not more handsome than my Can! See you later ladies".

CAN: "bebek I just saw them , I'm sorry, what are they doing here?"

SANEM: "they came to support me" and she starts laughing. He smiles and kisses her. " but I wonder when those two became friends?"

CAN: "probably at the party, I saw them standing at the bar together."

SANEM: "hmmmm, it seems like a very unusual friendship to me. But nothing surprises me anymore."

Can smiles and pinches her cheek

CAN: " are you ready to tell the world our story.?"

SANEM: "I am my love."

The afternoon went very well, Sanem had a big audience, her book was selling out fast. Can and the two families were very proud of her.

Achia and Ela came up to her to sign her book, but Sanem noticed how Kaan and Ela were looking at each other.

SANEM: " Achia, don't tell me you want your book signed"

ACHIA: "Actually I do, it looks like an interesting story, is this your story with Can, very interesting."

SANEM: " it's fiction Achia"

ACHIA; "You describe yourself and Can very well in the story, I only red a couple of chapters but I can tell."

SANEM: "think whatever you want. Have a good day!"

Can came over and stood by Sanem, and looked at Achia,

CAN; "book signing is over Achia, it's time for you to go.!" Achia looks at Can and smiles and Sanem notices something different, almost evil. Like she's up to something. Ignore her Sanem she's just bitter because she knows she can't have Can. "Bebek, are you ready, it's still early, let's go get something to eat."

SANEM: "Can do you think everyone can just come back to the house and we will barbecue? I'm tired, I just want to relax with family and our closest friends."

CAN: "of course, I would prefer that to"

Sanem and Can stopped at the market quickly to pick up some stuff for the barbecue, Can noticed sanem was quiet. " what are you thinking bebek?"

SANEM: "I'm thinking it was a great day today, except for Achia showing up."

CAN: "You mean Ela too don't you?"

SANEM: "actually I think Ela and Kaan are interested in each other, they couldn't take their eyes off of each other."

Can was smiling. That made him happy.

CAN: "that's a good thing isn't it?"

SANEM: "very good, now she won't be after you anymore. But she never worried me as much as Achia, Ela is just a young girl who had a crush on a very sexy hot boss" she turns and scratches his beard. "But Achia, she's different, she definitely has a mean streak and she doesn't like to lose."

CAN: "we will keep an eye on her, okay, don't worry my love. Let's go home and celebrate your success!!"

And that's what they did, they went home with friends and family. Sanem was in the kitchen with Leyla getting some lemonade ready, Sanem noticed leyla wasn't talking much.

SANEM: "Leyla is everything okay?"

LEYLA: "I don't know, today at the reading, Emre's phone rang, he took it to look at it. And do you know who it was?" "Who Leyla" Aylin it was Aylin!!"

SANEM: " Aylin, what does she want, after all this time, did you ask Emre?"

LEYLA: "no I didn't. he didn't answer, he canceled the call and put his phone away."

SANEM: "are you worried, maybe she's just trying to stir some trouble between you two. You know

Polen and Aylin always tried to come between us. Leyla Emre loves you, I see it every time he looks at you, I wouldn't worry." Leyla smiled and hugged Sanem. "You're probably right. Let's get out there before they come looking for us."

That night Sanem and Can were lying in bed holding each other after making love.

CAN: "Bebek, what are you thinking, that pretty little head of yours is always busy, thinking about something." She went on to tell him what Leyla told her. "Sanem, I know Emre loves Leyla, I don't doubt that for a minute. I'm sure of it, he doesn't stop talking about her when we're together."

SANEM: "I bet she's trying to cause problems between them. She's just like Polen." Can squeezes sanem and kisses her.

CAN: "I agree bebek, I'll talk to him"

SANEM: "Thank you!!" She climbs on top of him and starts kissing him and rubbing his chest, "I love you my future husband."

CAN: "and I love you , soon to be Mrs, Divit"
