Chapter 134 A chill emanated from Evan’s handsome face. He stood, calmly reaching for Julian’s arm, pulling him away from me.“Let me help you.”

“I don’t need your help!” Julian, enraged, shook off Evan’s hand. I quickly escaped, ignoring the stares, fleeing the private room.

Julian’s eyes darkened. Evan stopped him from chasing me. Seeing Julian’s rage about to be unleashed on Evan, Caffrey stepped forward to “help” him.

Caffrey:“Julian, you’re drunk!”

Yuan Xinjiang’s face was serious. “Mr. Shaw is too drunk to continue. Mr. Crowe, take him to rest.” He wanted him gone.

Caffrey realized the meeting was over. He said to Evan,“CEO Jones, let’s reschedule.”

Menu Evan didn’t respond. His tone was concerned.“Mr. Shaw is quite ill. I’ll recommend a doctor. Take him for treatment.” Caffrey readily agreed. The doctor wasn’t the point; Evan was willing to maintain contact, giving them a chance. Evan added Caffrey to his contacts.

As Caffrey and Julian left, Caffrey received a message–Evan’s doctor recommendation: Huang Zhonghua, psychiatrist at a mental institution.

Caffrey sighed. This was a mess. He should have stopped Julian and his sister.

Julian shook off his companions and walked away, his steps steady, not at all like someone drunk. Caffrey:...He was acting.

I was hiding in the restroom. I couldn’t stay; Julian might do something crazy. If I left, he’d calm down. I hoped Evan wouldn’t be hurt...

After a while, I peeked out. I saw Julian and Caffrey approaching. I quickly retreated. The corridor was long. Their footsteps drew closer. I heard a phone ring, then Caffrey’s anxious voice. Ten seconds later, another phone rang, Julian’s voice... their voices were intertwined. Something urgent had happened. I couldn’t make out the details. When they were gone, I returned to the private room.

The lunch ended. Yuan Xinjiang apologized profusely.“Next Wednesday, the resort’s phase one inspection. My father and I are looking forward to it. If you’re available, please come.”

Evan:“I know. I’ve already scheduled it.”

Yuan Xinjiang patted his chest. “Good. See you then.”

Evan politely said goodbye and left with me and Zach. Su Weili remained talking to Yuan Xinjiang.

Outside, Evan took off his jacket and gave it to Zach.“Throw it away.”

Zach:“...Okay.”

Me: He really thought it was dirty.

We returned to the office. I thought about what Julian and Caffrey had discussed in the corridor...
