The Banished Wolf {COMPLETED}

Chapter Nineteen: Living With Animals

“I can’t believe you convinced me to move here.” Bianca grunted as she plopped down on the bed next to Brody. “Trust me it is truly for the best besides this place is huge I mean we have our own room with Hope right across the hall and Sara even has her own room for when she stays with us.” He smiled pulling her to him.

“If Damien wasn’t such an ass Sara would live here with us but since he can’t seem to keep his rude remarks to himself she refuses to fully move in.” Bianca sighed. “I know and I have talked to him numerous times about the way he treats her but its Damien.” Brody replied.

“The twins seem happier since we moved in especially since they can spoil Hope all day every day.” She laughed. “I agree the tension between them and Damien has settled down and I do believe she has them wrapped around her little finger just like me.” He beamed.

“It’s about time you admit that.” Bianca laughed. Brody began tickling her until she was wiggling and begging him to stop. He thought it was fun to watch her squirm around like a worm.

Once he decided she had enough they decided it was time to emerge from their room where they had been all day since Travis and Lance took Hope to the park to play. They were enjoying their alone time something they didn’t get very much now that they lived in a full house.

Bianca made her way to the kitchen to start preparing supper when she walked into the kitchen she felt anger rising within her. “BRODY, COME HERE!” she screamed. He ran in to see the mess his brothers had left behind.

“I am getting sick and tired of being the only one in this house that seems to care about cleaning.” She growled at him. “I know babe I will have another talk with them.” He said going to the dishwasher to unload and reload it.

“You can talk to them until you are blue in the face they aren’t ever going to pick up after themselves. I’m not their maid.” She snarled as she slammed a skillet on the stove. “I know honey just calm down please.” Brody said as he started the dishwasher up.

“I’m sorry I shouldn’t take it out on you but they are your brothers and I feel like you need to be the one to enforce things around here.” She said flashing him a half smile. “It’s fine babe they are so used to having servants at the castle that they tend to forget there isn’t any servants here.” He smiled wrapping his arms around her waist.

“I know but it’s been a month and I have yet to see any of them do anything to help around here it’s as if I’m the female so cleaning is my job which I don’t mind cleaning up after you and Hope but they aren’t my children or mate so it’s not my place.” She sighed leaning her head back on him.

“I’ll talk to them again I promise.” Brody replied placing small kisses on her neck. She let out a small sigh pulling away from him to start supper. She enjoyed cooking and baking for everyone just not cleaning up after them.

She had tuned into a side of herself she didn’t know existed when they moved into Deadwood and she took on the role of house chef. She started making all kinds of meals using recipes that Brody had pulled out of some things he had of his mothers.

The first time she ever used one she watched as Brody and his brothers had tears in their eyes as they ate. She felt bad but they insisted it tasted just like their mother had made it causing the memories of her to flood into their heads.

Tonight she decided to try and make a meatloaf recipe from their mother in hopes it would put them all in a good mood for the talk Brody was going to have with them. She knew Damien hated when Brody acted as if he was their father but he knew what his place was and he never disrespected Brody.

“I think we wore her out today.” Travis said as he walked into the house cradling Hope. “Yea she played hard making sure we played on everything at least once if not more.” Lance laughed following behind them.

“I can see that, will you lay her down in her room for me, I’ll have Brody wake her up in a bit to get her cleaned up for supper.” Bianca smiled. “Sure.” The twins replied walking out of the kitchen.

She had just put supper in the oven when she heard arguing coming from the living room. As she walked towards it she could tell it was Damien but she wasn’t for sure who else was in there.

She didn’t want to intrude but curiosity got the best of her or maybe it was her wolf but either way she quietly walked towards the living room. When she rounded the edge of the hallway she heard a hushed woman’s voice.

She peered around the corner into the living room to see Damien standing over a lady who was sitting on the sofa with her back to Bianca. She felt a hint of recognition flow through her but she wasn’t quite sure who it was.

So she stood hidden listening to what they were fighting about. It was hard to hear the woman even with Bianca’s enhanced sense of hearing. “Look you know you aren’t supposed to ever come here it’s just too risky.” Damien boomed at her.

“I know I’m sorry but I have news that won’t please your father.” The lady hesitated. “Why didn’t you just call him instead of taking a chance of ruining everything by coming here?” Damien yelled back at her.

“It’s really important he hears this from you and not me I fear my life would end if I were the one to give him such news.” She replied sounding as if she were shaking. “Fine make it quick so you can get out of here before anyone else knows you’re here.” Damien growled.

“The first part of the plan has failed I don’t know what happened but we can’t count on anything happening there because he was found dead this morning.” She spit out. “What happened to him?” Damien asked sounding even angrier.

“They are saying it was suicide because his parent’s found him with an electrical cord wrapped around his throat hanging from his bedroom window.” She cried. Bianca felt a strange feeling rush through her when she heard the woman say that.

“Why on earth would he kill himself when he knew we were backing him on everything he was doing?” Damien glared at her. “I’m not sure but I know it really is going to change your father’s plans.” She said standing up.

“Yes it is and don’t worry I will let him know I do appreciate you coming by to tell me about this but please don’t come back around here just text my phone and I will meet you from now on.” Damien replied.

“Ok I will I’m sorry I was just so scared by the news that I had to come and tell you right away.” She said turning to walk towards the door. Bianca knew she had to get out of there before she was caught so she quickly turned into the bathroom peering around the corner to get a peek at the mystery lady.

She held her breath as she watched them leave the living room and head into the foyer. She watched in horror as she caught a glimpse of the ladies face. She began to wonder what the hell she was doing there and what plans was she in on with Damien and his father.

She shut the bathroom door and flushed acting as if she hadn’t been in there very long. When she opened the door Damien was waiting for her. “Hey Damien.” Bianca smiled heading back towards the kitchen.

He returned her smile and followed behind her. “So what is for supper tonight?” he asked watching Bianca’s every move. “The queen’s meatloaf.” Bianca replied knowing he was trying to see if she heard anything.

“I can’t wait that was always my favorite.” He smiled walking out of the kitchen. Once she knew he was gone she let out her breath that she had been holding. She started questioning who they could have been talking about and why on earth her mother feared for her life of telling the king of the news.
