Chapter 27
Hey Sweetheart
Sameera moved to the dinning table with Raj and Shivam trailing behind her. To Jay's discontent, she sat at the chair in the middle of two empty chairs on which both the boys sat.
"I'm sorry for the delay. I just had to ask something important from them."
She said smiling apologitically. Maaya raised her eyebrows and Sameera scrunched up her nose. Slowly sticking her tounge out at her she ducked her head down. Laughing quietly.
Maaya groaned silently and rubbed her head. She saw that everyone saw what Sameera did. And it was not something a 20 year old girl does. That girl never fails to emabaress them.
Senior people were chuckling at Maaya and Sameera's silent talk. Sobering up, one of the lady said
"Why are you sitting? Start eating kids."
Most iconic thing in Sameera's group was everybody was shy around new people. And they mostly did the same things. As for now, they nodded their heads, in the same direction and started eating slowly.
Sameera took deep breaths, trying not to snap at the person who was chewing with open mouth. She closed her ears, which was ofcourse not perfectly visible to someone else. It would look like she was just supporting her head. She, from the bottom of her heart, disliked people who chew with an open mouth. Because it was absolutely manerless.
Thankfully for her, Mrs.Shinghal, Jay's mom decided to break the silence.
"Are you guys liking here? I hope you like our house. It's our first own house."
Maaya scoffed under her breath, inaudibly
"House? Can't they see this is a mansion? A freaking mansion?"
And Sameera also decided to mumble quietly, which was still audible
"Yeah it's good. But if someday an evil spirit will come, it will be like a haunted house. Plus you won't be able to know in which room that ghost is."
Shivam let out a small laugh. And Sameera glared at him.
"Can you please repeat Sameera?"
Kaashiv spoke.
"Um....what bhaiya?"
She asked furrowing her eyebrows.
"I saw you saying something. But it was quite not audible. I'd like to hear that."
If she could, Kaashiv would be hanging upside down on a tree right now.
She looked down. How can she repeat that? Won't it be really wierd?
"Why are you shying Sameera? Tell bhaiya, what you said just now."
Shivam said enjoying.
If Sameera could Shivam would be a mosquito and she would have crushed him by now.
"I was just saying that you have a really good house."
"Not to be rude, but you said something more."
Kaashiv said and looked Sameera in the eye.
Now it was final that Kaashiv would definitely have been buried by now. And his grave would be so deep that it'll reach Earth's crust.
But unfortunately, Sameera couldn't do it.
"Uh...I was just...."
She looked at Jay asking for help but he just shrugged and gestured her to tell the truth. By now Jay knew that whatever Sameera spoke must have been really funny and she is not telling because she didn't want to get emabaressed.
Sameera sighed. Looks like there's no help. So she thought, let it be. If they really wanna hear her thoughts, then let them. It's not like she was jumping up and down to tell them.
"I was saying you have a good house. And it's so big that if an evil spirit by any chance comes here, you'll not be able to even find out in which room it is. Like imagine you are sleeping then, suddenly heard a female's crying noise, so you go check in every female's room and find out that they are sleeping. Same with a pshyco murderer. I don't wanna scare you or something, but a pshyco mostly does all these murder in night. He can come in daylight, hide in one of your rooms and get out in the night.
Once again, imagine you are sleeping, you heard a crashing noise like a glass breaking, you get out of your room and you can't see anybody. You use your brain, get down in the kitchen and find a masked person standing there with a knife. You try to shout or get everyone alert but he, with a swift motion slits your throat. And boom! You are dead. And do you know the most fun part? If he decides to stab you, he'll definitely close your mouth and stab you. And your family members will not even be able to hear your muffled cries and groans. If you by anyhow make some noise, then also nobody will be able to hear you. Remember, you were the only one who heard the noise of a glass breaking. Everybody else is asleep."
She smirked and leaned back. Not breaking eye contact with Kaashiv. That guy was a demanding asshole, who thought that he was a supreme power and everybody else has to obey. Anybody else would have left the matter but he wanted to know what she said. It's obvious that she didn't want anybody to her it, that's why she mumbled quietly.
That expression on his face when he asked her, was what actually iriked her.
It was like he was ordering her. And Sameera was never the one to take orders. She then said
"It is what I said."
Kaashiv's jaw was clenched. Anger was bubbling up in him, looking at Sameera. He can read her expression. She was daring him to say something, anything to oppose her. Because she has literally listed three ways how he anybody could brutally kill him. And getting killed is not exactly an honorable death.
But he cannot do anything, because everyone else was amused by her imagination and her guts to tell this to them. It was merely her imagination.
"That was......amazing."
Madhu said, looking mesmerized.
Sameera just shrugged it off smiling.
"You should watch more horror and crime movies. Then it will not even be something new."
"No. There's no need."
Madhu said and shuddered at the thought. Everyone laughed.
"You guys are not eating properly. Don't feel shy."
Mrs.Kumar, Jay's nani or his maternal grandmother said. She gestured the maids to serve.
One maid, served Sameera some dal and some more rice despite her refusal. It was their employer's order. Alias Jay.
Sighing she decided to eat. She almost loses her appetite anywhere outside her home and with new people.
Taking a bite of food, only thought that crossed her mind was that Shrithik can cook better.
She groaned loudly and gritted her teeth. Because she can't bang her head on the table. Can't he stay out of her mind for just one day!!?!!
_______________________________
On the other hand, Shrithik banged her head strongly on the table. While Shrithik envaded Sameera's mind time to time, Sameera was constantly in Shrithik's thought.
Constantly.
Not a single minute has passed without Sameera in his thoughts.
"It's a shame Shrithik. It's a shame. There is a girl constantly on your mind. From when did you started having girls in your thoughts? And that also constantly. And from when did that girl became Sweetheart? When!! You should go die by drowning in a bathtub."
He said to himself. Sameera had people, to occupy her and save her from getting in this situation. But Shrithik was all alone. And TV wasn't of help at all.
For example when he changes channels, the movie geners remind him of her.
Like: crime/thriller - she loves it.
Comedy- she loves it.
Romance - she's likes it. Just likes it.
Horror - she gets afraid, clings to his arm but refuses to accept.
Drama- she dislikes it.
Action- she is a simp for action movies.
He decided to call Shrey and ask him what to do. Though Shrithik has lived watching people making mistakes and he has understood what should be done in a situation, he has no human interaction.
All those things he kept in mind, are of no use. And because Shrey has some interaction, he can tell Shrithik what exactly is his problem and what he should do.
Shrey furrowed his brows as Sameera's number popped up on his screen. Why would she call him?
He picked up and was surprised to find Shrithik on the line.
"Are you free?"
"Um...yes. My class will start in about 20 minutes."
Shrithik breathed a sigh of relief.
"Yeah, that's good, now listen I-"
"No no. First tell me why are you calling from Sameera's phone? Have you lost your? And where is she?"
"Naah! She went to Mumbai for somebody's wedding and took my phone, instead of her's. Now please, will you listen to me? I'm stuck in a big problem. It's frustrating the hell out of me."
Shrey laughed.
"What happened to Mr. I-know-it-all? Finally you have to come to me."
Shrithik made a face and very lovingly said
"Shut up. It'll not take much time for me to come there and beat the shit out of you."
Shrey laughed.
"Okay, okay. Tell me your problem."
"I....You know that Sameera is in Mumbai and I am sitting in Hyderabad right? So I am totally alone but that girl is not leaving my mind. It's like she's on a constant loop that my mind has started to play. And she has been away for merely 12 hours. How pathetic it is!! What should I do? Tell me something so I can focus on something else."
Shrey smirked.
"I can tell you what happened to you but first answer some of my questions okay?"
He asked, knowing fully well that even if he liked Sameera, he'll be too blind to see it. Shrithik has never ever experienced some human emotions like jealousy, romantically liking somebody and love.
So even if he experiences any of it, he will not be able to recognise them.
"Okay. Ask. But if you'll not tell me a solution I swear to god you'll not get out of the hospital bed for a week."
He threatened and Shrey laughed, replying
"And you be ready to accompany me. I've joined boxing classes. So now tell me, when you see her what happens?"
"What do you mean by what happens. I see her and I feel happy that there is someone who can see me. And now I don't think I feel some specific emotion."
So he felt happy but he doesn't feel a shit right now. Maybe he has just not noticed anything.
"Does she still wear a single long oversized tshirt and gets out of her room by mistake?"
"What does that have to do with all your questions? But to answer it, sometimes."
"Next, do you watch horror movies together?"
"Is this really gonna help me? I'm here being pathetic and you are asking if we watch movies together. Of course we do. There's only one tv and we live in a same house. And it's not like they are broadcasting good movies all day. Plus we have an almost similar movie taste."
He whined. He doesn't care if this destroys his tough boy image. Total two people know him and if he can't be himself, then what's the need of them?
"Stop whining like a baby. Do you feel angry when you see her with someone? A boy specifically."
"Um...I don't know. I don't remember if I felt anything or not. But why are you asking these many questions? I really-"
"Do you feel that you should be with her right now? Like she's very far away and you want her to be near you?"
Shrithik stopped his whining at that question. Does he feel that she should be near him?
'Of course I do' he answered to himself and then spoke quietly
"Um...yes, I think?"
He let out more like a question.
Shrey sighed.
"Then what are you doing in Hyderabad? Go to Mumbai."
"Are you mad? I will seem clingy. I am not clingy and I don't want anybody to think that. Much less my sweetheart."
He mumbled the last part to himself, not properly realising what he said.
But Shrey heard him.
"What? What did you say? Your sweetheart?"
"So? Who else calls her Sweetheart? And that was just a slip of tounge. Don't think too much."
"I'll advise you to go to Mumbai."
"I'll seem clingy."
"No you'll not. Imagine, Sameera was in your place and you in Sameera's. So, she tags along with you. Will you think that she is clingy?"
"Of course not. She'll have no one to talk to and I'll be the only person she can talk to. And she is fun to be around. Plus, she will always respect my privacy."
"And you are in that situation, not Sameera. And as you two think way too similarly, she will also think same.
And do you even know how much will power I'm using just to talk seriously to you. If I will talk to you and don't abuse you, my stomach startes aching. Now hang up. I have classes to attend."
Saying this he hung up. But Shrithik had other plans. He called him once again.
"What now?"
"You told me to hang up. But you did it."
"So you do it."
"Why should I? It's not I'll do everything you told me to do."
"So I'll do it."
"It's a shame Shrey. You can't even make me cut a call? What will happen to you in the future. It's really shameful."
"Shrithik, I'll kill you, if say as much as one more word. I'm not kidding. Now bye you bastard."
Saying this cut the call. Shrithik laughed. It's really fun to annoy someone.
That's why she always annoys him.
He groaned.
"Not again."
