Chapter 13: The Wind that never Disappeared
Euthanasia: Spare Me Your Mercy volume 2
Although she failed to request the opening of the euthanasia case, Lieutenant Arsha managed to obtain her boyfriend's forgiveness and received encouragement to continue with her life. Kong may be a jerk in relationships sometimes, but he learned that he can make his cute boyfriend smile. Fortunately, Tum didn't ask for the key to his hospital bedroom, so Kong took the opportunity when Tum was on duty this morning to clean the room. She lit candles and prepared Tum's favorite dinner, which was porridge and sautéed cabbage from the late-night porridge restaurant downtown. Kong finished all preparations at 11:40 p.m. The police officer sat waiting at the dining room table and looked at the clock. He prayed that what he was doing today would please the person he loves.
Tum returned to the room exactly at midnight. The nurse's facial expression was one of surprise when he saw that the room was unusually clean with a pleasant aroma. Tum looked at the man who was smiling sweetly and crossing his legs at the dining table. "Welcome home."
"What are you doing?" Tum placed her bag on the chair in front of the TV, trying not to look at Kong.
Kong proudly pointed his hand towards the bowl of rice: "You were on duty from morning until almost midnight, you must be very hungry, honey. Come eat first."
"Go ahead, I'm not hungry. I want to sleep." Tum looked at the clock, "I have work in the morning tomorrow. There's not much time left to sleep."
Kong stood up and walked towards Tum, who was backing away a little. The young lieutenant reached out to hold Tum's hand and used his thumb to gently rub the backs of Tum's soft, pale hands.
Then Kong unexpectedly knelt in front of Tum, making Tum turn to look in shock. "Kong!"
"Someone like Arsha never bowed to anyone. No matter how many weapons the bad guys carried or how many people beat me, I never bowed my head to them and asked them to spare my life. The only reason I am doing this for anyone means that person is very important to me." The policeman squeezed his hands tighter and looked into the other person's eyes to show his sincerity. "The last six months that we have been in a relationship means a lot to me. I want to celebrate an anniversary, and many anniversaries after, with you. Please give me a chance to make amends."
Tum was stunned, blinked, and couldn't say anything for a long time. "Kong, you've gone too far."
"Exceeded?"
"I have never done so much to apologize to anyone in my life." Tum gave a small laugh. "I haven't forgiven you yet. It's just funny seeing you like this."
Kong stood up and raised his hand to scratch the back of his neck. "You're still angry, but at least you laughed."
Tum looked at the food Kong put on the table. "I'll eat this because I don't want to waste the gas that was used to go get it."
That sentence from Tum made the young lieutenant smile widely and the corners of his mouth almost touched his ears.
The sound of thunder and lightning outside did not affect the mood of the two men who were hugging each other naked in bed. After they made peace with each other, Kong promised Tum that he would not lie to her anymore, while Tum agreed to be less strict about Kong's work. Tum might be used to hospital work, where security was the main objective, and was not used to the job of an investigative police officer which usually involved some risky tasks. When they both unlocked this misunderstanding, Kong felt comfortable telling Tum the details of the work he was doing without having to make up a story.
"Actually, I'm very confused right now. Are so many strange things appearing after the case has been closed for six months?"
"I think this case was like a dog shitting and covering it with dirt. After six months, the rain washed away the dirt and the shit becomes visible again."
Tum, who was leaning on Kong's chest, frowned and said, "That's a disgusting analogy."
Kong raised his hand to pat Tum's head and kissed her, "However, I have prepared the plastic bags."
"So that?"
"To get the shit back."
"Oh, this is nonsense. I'm not going to talk to you anymore." Tum pushed the policeman's chest and sat up. Kong followed him and grabbed Tum's thin waist tightly.
"Where are you going, honey?"
"Somewhere far away from someone who likes to order it."
"I'll stop, I'll stop." Kong leaned forward to kiss the pale, soft shoulder and used his hands to gently rub from the shoulders to the arms and down to Tum's hands. Tum closed his eyes as the man behind him touched him as if playing to rekindle the atmosphere.
"Aren't you tired yet, Kong?"
The police officer's smile showed all his teeth, "We only did it once. I can't get enough of that."
Words cannot prove that Arsha still had enough stamina left, so Kong stood up, grabbed Tum by the shoulders, and swung him onto the bed. He grabbed both of the nurse's wrists and locked him over his head. Tum was a little astonished and his beautiful eyes looked at Kong before he lowered his gaze because he couldn't fight the hungry look in Kong's eyes. He shrugged his shoulders shyly. These behaviors made Kong ten times more excited. Although he knew this was part of an act because Tum knew how to drive Kong crazy. Tum wasn't inexperienced in bed, even before he met Kong. Tum told Kong directly that he had been in a relationship with another man before and had physical relations with him. Kong didn't take this seriously in the slightest. He had to learn a lot from Tum.
It may be hard to believe, but Tum was Kong's first boy. There was no one else before him.
Kong reached out for the condom and opened the seal. He squeezed the end and put it on his member. Kong moved in to kiss Tum deeply and passionately. The kiss was so intense that when they separated, Tum had to breathe heavily. Not long after that, Kong grabbed both of Tum's legs and lifted them up before easily inserting himself into the other person's body because he was prepared. Tum moaned tenderly. His two legs held his muscular body tightly as Kong moved amidst the sound of the rain that was getting louder and could be heard from the window. At that moment the two bodies were tightly intertwined, as close as if they were merging into one.
Rumble...
The loud sound of thunder startled Kong awake from his sleep. Lieutenant Kong was someone with sharper senses than an average person, so he would wake up easily with just a slight abnormal sound. Kong looked at his love still fast asleep in his arms. It seemed that Tum was in such a deep sleep that he did not hear the terrifying sound of thunder at that moment. Kong held Tum's head and slowly took out the arm that Tum was resting his head on and replaced it with a pillow. Kong looked at Tum's face in the dark and smiled. He felt happy every time he thought about how they had made love. He smiled like that for a while before getting out of bed to go to the bathroom without a single piece of clothing because he intended to go back and hug Tum skin to skin until morning.
He hadn't even reached the bathroom yet when the police officer heard sounds of movement outside the bedroom. It sounded like something fell to the ground. Kong paused for a moment before responding to the anomaly. The police officer grabbed a towel, wrapped it around himself, and then grabbed the gun from the rack to hold it. Then he returned to bed.
"Tum, Tum!" Kong whispered to wake Tum and gently shook his shoulders.
"Hmm?" Tum responded sleepily.
"Silence." Kong put his index finger to his mouth and said, "There is someone in our apartment."
"That?" Tum exclaimed in shock, but quickly put his hand to his mouth.
"Tum, go and hide in the bathroom. Take your phone with you. Open the CCTV app and see if someone really came in. If there really is someone, rotate the camera to clearly capture their face. Call the security guards and call the police". Kong calmly whispered instructions to Tum. "I'll stay and guard the door. If something happens, you should run away to find help. Do you understand what I'm saying?"
"O...Okay," Tum agreed although he seemed surprised and confused. Fortunately, Tum was a man who could remain calm. He quickly sat up, grabbed his mobile phone, and got out of bed. Tum bent down to pick up the pajamas he had taken off and left on the floor to take to the bathroom with him. Meanwhile, Kong walked towards the door. He leaned his back against the door frame with a gun ready to use in his hand. He listened carefully for any additional sounds of movement.
Everything was silent for many seconds as if what Kong heard earlier did not exist. Kong looked in the direction of the bathroom to wait for a response from Tum, whether or not he could see an invader. He waited like this for a while before Tum ran out of the bathroom with an alarmed expression. "He's got a gun! He's right in front of the room!"
"How many?"
"I... only saw one."
Kong said decisively: "Tum, go and hide. Now! Do what I told you now immediately!"
To save his own life and the lives of his loved ones, especially since the opposition also had a weapon, it made sense for him to be the one to start this battle. Kong turned around and opened the door as soon as he finished speaking. Both of his hands held the gun tightly. The moment he saw the dark shadow of the invader, Kong immediately shot.
BANG!
Kong heard Tum shout: "Kong!" alarmed, which was followed by a groan and that shadow fell to the ground. Kong walked over the body, not knowing if it was dead or alive, to check if there was a single invader or not. And Kong wasn't wrong, because as soon as he came out, a gunshot was heard. Fortunately, the bullet only missed Kong and hit the display case behind him, shattering it. Kong ran and hid behind a storage closet and fired back randomly in the dark. He also shouted: "If you're so good, don't hide. You're nothing, you idiot!"
Kong could see the shadow of the person running towards the kitchen window, which must have been where they entered. Arsha ran after the fleeing man like a racehorse. He jumped and caught the invader and violently pushed him back so that they both fell. The invader also seemed to have some fighting skills. He decided to straddle Kong and hit the policeman in the face so hard. Kong used his elbow to defend himself just in time and knocked the weapon away from the other side of his hand so that it flew far away. Kong then slammed his head into the bad guy's nose and took advantage of this moment to wrap his legs around the culprit's neck and strangle him tightly with the curve of his legs to press against the large veins in his neck. The invader fought for a while before gradually losing strength. At that moment someone knocked on the door. It must have been the security guard Tum called. Kong saw Tum jump on the invader that Kong shot and quickly opened the door.
The lights in the room turned on brightly. At the same time, the invader Kong was strangling lacked enough oxygen and became unconscious. Kong let go of the weak body and stood up. The policeman staggered a little from the dizziness caused when he used his head to hit the invader. Kong turned his head and saw Tum and two security guards who came with flashlights looking at Kong in amazement.
"These men are professionals, we can't let them go," Kong said, panting. However, it seemed that the security guards and Tum did not pay attention to the unconscious guy and the man in a pool of blood. Everyone's eyes widened and they looked at the policeman. This confused Kong at first, but he realized the reason in the next few seconds.
Because the towel he wrapped himself in fell and got lost somewhere.
"Damn!" Kong grabbed a plate from the sink to cover his private part and smiled. "Right now I may look like a crazy person who invaded Nurse Tum's apartment, but I'm not the invader. I'm sorry, please let me go and put on some clothes."
Inspector Wasan Khamboonrueng, the young investigator, crossed his arms as he watched the destruction of the hospital staff dormitory that houses the love birds Wasan knew and was close to. The owner of the apartment was Tum. The nurse was pointing out the unusual spots to the forensic officers while Tum's boyfriend in a T-shirt and soccer shorts stood with his arms crossed next to Wasan.
"I didn't exaggerate, inspector. They had weapons."
"I know," Wasan replied and looked at the pool of blood on the floor. It belonged to the invader who was shot in the chest and seriously injured. Wasan heard from the hospital that he was almost dead.
"I will hand over all the CCTV recording files to you. It can be clearly seen that those two went up to the terrace and removed the glass windows of the kitchen."
"I saw you fighting with the invader."
Kong raised his hands to rub his face: "Will they write a headline like this: Naked young lieutenant fought and arrested two home invaders at night?"
"You sound proud," Wasan said flatly.
"How can I be proud? Inspector, please don't post the clips on social media. Although the fighting moves may be cool, my penis is just for Tum to see."
"I won't publish it, but a lot of people will see it. I'm just one of them. To make the case files, you know?" Wasan patted Kong on the shoulder to encourage him. "Anyway, have you figured out if you stepped on anyone's foot?"
"It would be easier to count whose feet I haven't stepped on." Kong sighed. "I have enemies everywhere. Any drug dealer would be happy to shoot me in the head if given the chance. The most recent was the Somkid case, where I carried out an undercover operation to buy drugs."
Wasan nodded in acknowledgement, "And aside from the sting operation, do you and Tum have problems with anyone else?"
"I don't know about Tum, but in my case..." Kong suddenly became unusually quiet, which was unlike his usual speaking habit. The young inspector looked at Kong curiously. Kong seemed hesitant to say anything.
"Just say it. I'll help you solve it," Wasan said fiercely.
"Inspector, I found one of the invaders' mobile phones on the ground," the forensic officer approached to report. Wasan nodded in recognition.
"We need to quickly take a look if there is any information about the person who hired them." Wasan nodded at the officer and turned to look at Kong, who was biting his nails. "What's wrong, Lieutenant?"
"Since we've come this far, Inspector, let me tell you that this may or may not be related." The young lieutenant took a deep breath. Wasan had never seen Kong with such a worried expression before. "I am finding evidence to reopen the euthanasia case."
Wasan was stunned as if cursed for a moment before looking at Kong. The first thing that came to mind was anger. Wasan clenched his fists and then released them. "Why would you reopen it? The case was over."
Kong pointed at the destruction and bullet holes in the walls, "Inspector, you asked me what and who I am messing with, this is one of them. Just wait for the answers about who ordered me to be killed and you will get the answer about "Who wanted me dead. Whether it was the drug dealers or the person who kills the patients as if they were nothing."
"It's definitely not euthanasia," Wasan said confidently.
"Oh, one more thing." Kong moved his face closer to Wasan's ear. "The hallucinated Mr. Som's heart stopped beating out of nowhere. He is currently on a ventilator in the ICU. So many coincidences."
"Let's better focus on the people who invaded your apartment to kill you," the young inspector interrupted as if he didn't want to hear what Kong was trying to say. "Give me more useful information, Lieutenant."
Kong shrugged, Wasan would ignore any talk of euthanasia now. Kong then decided to apologize and went to hold Tum's shoulders, who still looked a little scared. Wasan stood there looking at the two lovers for a while before turning to ask the two security guards who saw it happen for more details about the incident.
"I hate it when we both work at different times like this," Gunn joked to Wasan in police uniform when he returned from his night shift without having slept an hour while Gunn drank morning coffee and ate buttered toast and scrambled eggs before work. job. Wasan opened the front door and sighed, showing his tiredness. The doctor looked at the other party fondly: "Tell me what's making you tired."
"Last night two invaders broke into the apartment of Lieutenant Kong and Nurse Tum. Fortunately Kong was good and defeated the invaders, who are now seriously injured in the hospital, so they are both safe. It must be the work of some drug dealers." drugs that wanted revenge."
Gunn raised an eyebrow, a little surprised. "Really? It's a relief that Kong and Tum are safe. Anyway, shouldn't you eat something before going to sleep?"
"What do you have?" Wasan walked over and saw the food on the table, "Only eggs."
"They are Dr. Gunn's eggs," Gunn said with a broad smile. "Two eggs can fill you to the brim."
"How lewd," Wasan pushed Gunn's shoulders. Gunn stood up and kissed Wasan's cheek, making Wasan's tiredness disappear completely. "I'll go take a shower and then sleep. I'll prepare my meals myself. You can go to work."
"I'm worried about you. I don't want you to work too hard and pass out again."
Wasan looked at the beautiful face that still had traces of bruises. The reason for these bruises was still a mystery, but Wasan trusted the person he loved unconditionally. He is sure that it did not happen because of anything serious because Gunn has never lied to him since the truth about the euthanasia case came out. "You too, don't be clumsy and fall on your face anywhere else."
Wasan left Kantapat to go upstairs, wash and then sleep. He stopped in his tracks when his phone vibrated. Wasan picked up the phone, "Hello."
******
"Inspector Wasan," the voice on the other end of the line said excitedly. "I have extracted information from the phone of the invader who broke into Lieutenant Kong's apartment. I will send it to you."
Wasan smiled happily because he was able to quickly obtain the information so that he could further plan the investigation. "Did you get the name of the person who hired them?"
"Yes, sir. The contact for the recruitment was made through the LINE chat app. And it's not just a case. You can take a look for yourself, Inspector."
Wasan quickly opened the photos that were sent to him. It was a conversation between the person called 'Professional' and the person whose name on LINE was 'OrnaNong'. Wasan frowned as he scrolled down through the messages until he saw the last photo.
That was an enlarged image of the person using the name 'OrnaNong'. It was a middle-aged woman with sepia glasses dressed in traditional northern-style clothing. The photo was taken in a beautiful flower garden.
"You look really stressed. Didn't you say you were going to shower and sleep?" Gunn prepared his breakfast, carried his briefcase and stood next to Wasan. "Whose photo is that?"
"Do you know this woman?" Wasan turned the phone screen so Gunn was looking at it without much expectation. However, what occurred was a suffocating silence. Wasan looked at Gunn. The doctor's facial expression was not normal. From a smiling face, it turned into one of shock, and then it turned into a flat one, as if it had been cemented. "Gunn?"
From the eyes of someone who lived together for about half a year, Gunn's reaction at this moment was the most unusual Wasan had ever seen. The policeman didn't understand what it was about. Gunn took a step back from Wasan, took a deep breath, and smiled the same way he did at the beginning. "I know her. This is Nong or Ornanong, the nurse who works with me in palliative care."
Gunn's response surprised surprised Wasan for a long time: "Ornanong, the nurse who works with you?"
"Yes," Gunn smiled wider, which gave a really strange feeling. "Let me go to work. See you in the evening, honey."
Wasan's eyes followed the tall body that walked towards the door and took large strides quickly towards the parking space. When the doctor left the house in his luxurious car, the young inspector refocused and stood still to process what had just happened. Even if Gunn said he didn't know the person in the photo, Wasan would soon find out who the person in the photo was who hired the hitman.
"...Just wait for the answers about who ordered me killed and you'll get the answer about who wanted me dead. Whether it's the drug dealers or the person who kills the patients like they were nothing."
Lieutenant Kong's words echoed in Wasan's head. The young man plopped down on the couch looking confused. Many things that had happened that he couldn't figure out came to his mind. From the horrible murder of the terminal patient, Mr. Som hallucinating, Ying was found on the road and later died in the hospital, Gunn was attacked by a mysterious person, and then this, the nurse who worked with Gunn hired people to kill Tao and Lieutenant Kong.
This feeling came back again. The existence of the invisible wall. The police officer thought he had disappeared a long time ago, but why did he feel like that wall still stood between him and the man he loved with all his heart?
Wasan leaned his body on the sofa, his narrowed eyes seemed distracted, "What the hell is going on?"
