chapter 14

Hate

Liam's belly was now noticeably round, a testament to the two little miracles growing inside him. It had been a month since he had returned to live with Mark, and it had been a blissful reunion. Mark had been attentive and loving, making sure that Liam felt safe and cared for.

The bodyguards that Mark had hired were a constant presence, always lurking in the background, ready to intervene at a moment's notice. They had already proven themselves to be invaluable, thwarting Martha's attempts to cause trouble at the house.

Liam had been pestering Mark for weeks to take him shopping for baby clothes. He was determined to buy everything the twins would need, from tiny onesies to adorable little shoes. Mark had been hesitant at first, but Liam's enthusiasm was infectious, and he had finally agreed to take Liam on a shopping spree.

As they sat in the living room, browsing through catalogs and websites, Liam squealed with delight at every cute outfit he saw. "Oh, Mark, look at this one! And this one! And this one!" he exclaimed, his eyes shining with excitement.

Mark laughed and smiled, happy to see Liam so carefree. "Okay, okay, we'll get them all," he said, jokingly.

Their doctor had told them that they were having two baby boys, one of whom was a Ger, just like Liam. Liam was thrilled. He had always dreamed of having a big, happy family, and now that dream was finally coming true.

As they shopped, Liam couldn't help but think about the future. He imagined himself and Mark taking the twins on adventures, playing with them in the park, and reading them bedtime stories. He knew that there would be challenges ahead, but with Mark by his side, he felt like they could conquer anything.

And as for Martha, Liam wasn't going to let her ruin their happiness. He was determined to protect himself, Mark, and their unborn babies from her toxic behavior. With Mark's love and support, Liam felt strong and confident, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

Martha's eyes blazed with a fierce intensity as she paced back and forth in her darkened living room. Her hatred for Liam seemed to grow with every passing minute, fueled by her own twisted desires and a deep-seated need for control.

Mark, her own son, had no idea about the darkness that lurked within his mother's heart. He had no idea that she was capable of such evil, such cruelty. But Martha had a secret, a secret that she had kept hidden for decades.

It was a secret that had begun 20 years ago, when Martha had fallen in love with a man named Eric. But Eric had been in love with someone else, a Ger who had stolen his heart. Martha, consumed by jealousy and rage, had killed the Ger in a fit of anger.

And then, she had forced Eric to marry her, threatening to harm his son if he refused. Eric, terrified and heartbroken, had agreed to the marriage. But Martha's cruelty didn't end there. Years later, she had poisoned Eric with a slow-acting poison, one that had damaged his liver and left him sick and dying.

The doctor had said that Eric died of liver cancer, but Martha knew the truth. She had killed him, just as she had killed the Ger all those years ago.

Now, as she thought about Liam, Martha's anger and hatred boiled over. She saw Liam as a threat, a threat to her control over Mark and her own twisted desires. And she was determined to eliminate that threat, no matter what it took.

Mark had chosen to side with Liam, and now Martha saw him as a traitor. She would stop at nothing to destroy Liam and anyone else who got in her way. The darkness in her heart had been unleashed, and it would not rest until it had claimed its next victim.
