CHAPTER 56: Why did he Lie?

"No Ev. I said no. I don't want any further arguments." Xander said.

"Please Xander." I made puppy eyes.

"Don't make that face. You can't convince me." He said.

"Fine." I went out of the bedroom and went down to the poolside.

I am trying to convince him since yesterday to let me go to work I am just two weeks pregnant but he is not listening to me. He is being over protective which is pissing me off.

I was sitting there for like 20 minutes waiting for him to come down and convince me but he didn't.

Rude Arrogant Jerk.

When it was dinner time. I went to the kitchen just to find him sitting and having his dinner happily.

I glared at him but he didn't even look at me. Not even once.

I went to take my food. "Huh!" I muttered but he ignored me and kept eating. Like he never heard it.

I then served my food. "Huh!" I said again.

Again he ignored me.

I then slammed my plate in front of him he again ignored me.

"I am talking to you." I said in an extremely angry tone.

He looked at me "Oh! That was talking. Sorry I didn't know that's called talking."

"Xander I am mad at you."

"So?"

"So? Seriously Xander so. I am mad at you."

"Ya I heard you the first time." He said and kept eating again.

He is so irritating.

"Why are you doing this Xander? You very well know what I want."

"Ya. I do but I told you my answer."

I have to do something. I can't let him win. I love my work.

What should I do?

Idea. I smirked.

I need fake tears.

Oh! So my drama queen is back.

I sat on the stool beside him with fake tears in my eyes.

I touched my belly "Baby. I wonder what will happen when you will come to this world. This world is so cruel. Nobody cares for your Mommy." I saw from the corner of my eyes that Xander turned to me.

Yes! it's working.

I continued "Baby Mommy is always there for you, to love you. I know you'll always love Mommy no matter anyone loves her or not. Huh!"

"Ev that's cheating. You can't bring our baby in between."

"My baby." I crossed my arms over my chest and looked away. "Baby you know Daddy always scolds Mommy."

"Stop lying. When did I scold you?"

"I am not talking to you. I am talking to my baby."

"You're lying." He said in an angry tone.

"See. I told you baby. Daddy always scolds Mommy."

"Okay I get it why are you doing this? Fine you can work."

A smile instantly appeared on my face.

"See baby I told you Daddy loves Mommy." I then went close to my belly and whispered "My plans always work. Thank you baby."

Xander glared at me. I pecked his lips. "Thank you."

He rolled his eyes. "But I have some conditions."

"Conditions?"

"Yep!"

"Umm... What conditions?"

"First, I'll drop you and pick you up from your office everyday, not Frank."

"Done."

"Second, You'll take your medicines on time and take care of yourself while you are at work."

"Done."

"Third, you'll eat only healthy food during the lunch time."

"Done."

"And lastly, you'll stay away from chocolates."

"Done."

Wait. Chocolates?

"Hell no!" I shouted.

"Then you are not going." He said getting up from his seat. He went to keep his plate on the basin I followed him.

"Why chocolates?"

"Because I don't want my baby to eat chocolates every time like his mother. So no chocolates." He started going upstairs I was just following him.

"You are not serious right?"

"Trust me baby I am damn serious." He said with a smile.

"You can't do that. I love chocolates. You know that." I was just one step away from crying.

He lifted up my chin to look at my face. He started laughing.

I gave him a confused look. "I was just kidding. You don't have to cry."

I started hitting his chest. "You are so bad. I thought you were serious. I hate you." He held my hands and pulled me to him. My chest crashed with his.

"I can never take your second love away from you." He said.

"Second?"

"Ya. Second. Because I am your first love." Saying that he captured my lips in his and picked me up. I wrapped my legs around his waist.

He carried me to the bed and laid me down. He got on top of me and started kissing me again. His one hand was on my waist and the other on the back of my neck. His tongue was exploring my mouth. I ran my hands through his soft hair. He was kissing me hungrily with his hands now roaming all over my body.

"God! I missed those lips for so long." He said breaking the kiss and traced my lips with his thumb "They are so soft. I can kiss them all my life." Then again he connected our lips.

When we were finally out of breath he pulled away and leaned his forehead against mine "I love you Ev. I love you so fucking much."

"I love you too." I said trying to catch my breath.

He then kissed my forehead once and said "Goodnight Mrs. Knight."

"Goodnight."

It has been a month since we got the news of my pregnancy so now I am in total a month and half pregnant. Today Xander told me that his Mom and Dad has invited us for dinner. I was wondering why all of a sudden then he told me that he too has no clue why? So I guess we have to go and find there only.

What could it be?

Last time I talk to Mom she didn't tell me anything about this.

Now I am getting really curious.

When we went inside the house, both of us stopped in our way.

My eyes widened, Xander's jaw clenched his hand formed into a fist. I held his arm to calm him down.

"Remember you agreed to their relationship. So please calm down. For Rose at least." I whispered in his ears. He nodded.

"Oh Alex, Ev both of you are here. Come."

Xander nodded. I intertwined my hand with his and we went in. We sat on the couch in front of Blake and Rose.

Blake gave me a smile I smiled back at him.

"So we wanted to discuss about Rose and Blake's marriage." Mr. Knight said.

Well I forgot to tell you that their marriage preparations were going on as last week Blake asked Rose to marry him and of course she said yes. Though Xander said that he has no problem with their relationship but still sitting with Blake and discussing about the marriage is a hell no for him.

Xander was just trying to control his anger.

"Xander please." I whispered. He sighed and nodded.

"I am trying." He whispered back in an annoying tone.

"Alex I heard that you are doing that partnership with Blake. I am glad to hear that." Mr. Knight said.

"Yes I am." Xander replied.

"Hope you both get success in this project."

"Of course we will Mr. Knight. We have a long experience of working together. Don't we?" Blake said looking at Xander.

I looked between them.

Oh God! Are they trying to kill each other by giving those hateful looks.

Rose then mouthed me. 'why are they glaring at each other.'

'I don't know.' I mouthed her back.

'They look scary.'

'I know. Now shut up.'

"By the way, Congratulations Eveline. I heard the news from Rose." Blake said smiling at me.

"Thank you." I smiled back at him.

"Congrats to you too Alex. I'm happy for you."

Xander rolled his eyes.

Rose then took a glass from the table and started drinking water.

Then Mrs. Knight cleared her throat and said "Umm... Alex, Rose wanted you to be present here to talk about her marriage preparations."

Rose spit the water from her mouth and started coughing looking at Xander's angry face.

Blake patted Rose's back "Are you okay Rose?" Rose nodded.

"I-I- didn't." Rose shook her head.

"Mom it's fine you don't have to take her name in this. We can talk." Xander said.

"Oh thank God! Alex it's enough with everything. Just finish your fight and forgive each other."

"It's just Alex who needs to forgive me Mrs. Knight." Blake said.

"Fine then. Let's make a deal. You tell me the truth and I'll forgive you." Xander said.

Blake stiffened and looked away.

"See you can't tell me the truth and I can't forgive you."

"I don't have anything to say." Blake said.

"I know you have a lot to say. I just don't understand why can't you say it."

"Let's finish everything Alex. It's enough."

"I'm saying the same thing. Let's finish everything. Just tell me the truth."

"Xander." He glared at me and stood up pulling me with him. He took me to the garden area. His hands were tightly holding my wrist.

He then released my hand.

"This is so fucked up Ev. You heard that I told him that I will forgive him but still he didn't tell me. What is it Ev that he can't tell me."

"Xander. Maybe he has a reason."

"I don't care. I want to know. I want to know everything."

"Alex." I turned around to see Blake standing there with everyone else.

Xander marched towards Blake.

"Xander no." I held his hand to stop him.

"Stay away Ev." He warned me and pulled his hand away from me.

He grabbed Blake by his collar "Why? Why did you lie to me?" he shouted.

"I won't tell you." Blake said.

I ran to Mrs. Knight "Please stop them please."

"No dear. Let them solve it on their own. Leave them."

"But-"

"No Ev." She pulled me to herself.

Xander was in pain.

Blake was hurt.

"You were everything to me." Xander said.

"I can't." Blake said. His voice was broken.

Xander punched Blake in his face. "Xander no." I shouted and was about to go to him when Mrs. Knight and Rose held me.

"No. Ev. Don't go. It's needed. They need to solve this on their own." Rose said.

"TELL ME. WHAT IS IT? TELL ME." Xander shouted and punched Blake again.

Blake punched Xander back this time "I said I can't."

"Why? You were like a brother to me. Still you lied to me. Why?" he again punched Blake this time Blake fell down with Xander too.

Xander however managed to get on top of him and started punching him continuously. "TELL ME WHY? WHY?"

"Xander stop please."

Both of them were bleeding. Then finally when Blake got the chance and he got on top of Xander and started throwing punches at him. "BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANTED TO HURT YOU." Blake said.

Both of them stopped. "Hurt me? How?"

Blake rolled from top of him and sat on the ground. Xander too got up and he was too sitting on the ground. He was sitting beside Blake but of course at a good distance.

"M-Mason knew that you were dating Maddison." Blake said in a broken voice. My eyes widened.

Xander looked at Blake with a shocked expression. "W-What?"

"That day when you introduced me to Maddison I had already met her at Mason's place before. I thought to tell you but I saw true love in your eyes for the first time and that was for her. So I decided to first tell Maddison and Mason about it. When I told Mason he wasn't shocked at all. He then told me he knew everything. He knew that the girl you were dating was Maddison but he didn't tell anyone because he thought that you were better than him in every way so any girl will choose you over him. He said that he couldn't leave Maddison because she is his first love and he loves her more than anyone else just like you do. So he asked me to be quiet and not tell anyone about this. Not even you. But before that I have already told Maddison about it and as Mason feared she chose you over him. What she said to him I don't know but I know she said something really hurtful to him. Alex I didn't wanted to hurt you by telling you this because I knew you would blame yourself for everything so I didn't tell you. It was better to see hatred in your eyes for me than to see that hatred for yourself."

"S-so h-he died because of me." Xander said with tears in his eyes.

"No Alex. You didn't know anything. Don't blame yourself."

"But it is the truth."

Blake hugged Xander. Both of them were crying. Xander hugged back Blake tightly and cried on his shoulder.

"I am sorry."

"I'm really sorry. I blamed you for everything when the one who has to be blamed here is me."

"No Alex."

"Everything happened because of me."

"Alex stop blaming yourself." Blake said while pulling away from Xander. "I am happy that at least I got you back."

Xander nodded. Blake again engulfed him in a hug.

Rose came to me and hugged me.

Rose then held my hand and said "It happened. Finally. I am so happy Ev."

I nodded and hugged her. My eyes were fixed at Xander and I know that he is hurt. The truth has shattered him.
