I walked into class sitting in my usual spot, awaiting the teacher to enter the room.

I was typing something for another class when I heard heels, letting me know Avery entered the room.

" Everyone you need your books and laptops out" she said as she tossed her purse onto her desk.

"Today we are going over the last steps for your life projects, and if your details aren't on there you will be getting 15 points removed because this is college you shouldn't be forgetting those things" she said sharply.

As she continued on with her lesson I started to tune her out, because most of it was common sense but the kids I have in this class still need to hear it.

My gaze trailed her outfit choice today, it was slightly different from what she usually wore.

Today she had on a white button up shirt with a black skirt that hugged her curves well, she usually doesn't wear a skirt so it was a surprise today.

My gaze trailed up and down her long legs before I looked up at her face to find she was already looking at me with a subtle smirk on her face.

I cleared my throat lightly before turning my attention back towards my MacBook and finishing taking my notes.

The bell rang signifying class was over, I shoved my MacBook into my bookbag heading to the exit when I heard Avery call my name.

" Arabella, stay behind for a minute please" she called out making sure I heard her.

I watched as she walked to her purse pulling something out, everyone had left by now leaving just us two.

"Here, Calista wanted me to invite you to her birthday she said you had to be there, also try not and stare so much during class" she teased lightly before she turned away to grab something out her bag, afterwards handing me a fancy looking envelope.

"Don't feel pressured to come, it will be a bunch of little kids anyway. Although I wouldn't mind your company" she smirked lightly before turning around and walking back to her desk.

"Okay, well i'll let you know but I have to get to my next class" I replied before I rushed out the classroom so I wasn't late to the next.

As I walked through the halls what she said played in my head. 'I wouldn't mind your company'.

hm, so she does enjoy having me around, I knew it!

I walked into my next class just as the bell rang I quickly shuffled to find a seat before the professor had the chance to scold me.

"What's this fancy envelope" Scarlett asked as I sat next to her, setting all my stuff on the desk.

"A party invite, do you think you could drop me off later" I questioned before Scarlett's mouth pulled up into a smirk.

" is it with who I think it is" she questioned making me roll my eyes. " of course what other friends do I have" I scolded making her chuckle lightly.

"Girls please stop talking" the professor said from the podium she was standing out making Scarlett's laugh die down.

Today was more of a casual day just listening to the teacher yap about basically nothing, so as she talked away my mind slowly slipped away as I zoned out.

I didn't even realize I was zoned out for that long until I heard the bell ring, with a heavy tired sigh I packed up my belongings and grabbing my phone and keys before heading out to the parking lot.

Scarlett still had one more class for the day so I just decided to walk home, plus I could stop by the store to grab Calista a few things.

Since on the way there the coffee shop was right there I went ahead and stopped inside but when I did the most unexpected sight caught me off guard.

Avery was sitting there with another lady chatting away, they were very close but I can't think too much about it.

She doesn't like me anyways we are just student and teacher I don't know what I was thinking.

I turned my gaze away as I walked up towards the counter.

"Hey Bella!" Allyson said with a cheery grin, we've been getting closer recently me and her are great friends.

"Hey ally, can I get the usual" I asked as I pulled my card out my wallet, soon after she immediately declined offering it on the house.

"It's on us today don't worry" she smiled lightly as her fingers slightly grazed my hands.

" oh I don't want you to do that" I immediately declined.

" it wasn't an offer silly" she smiled softly with a slight giggle, " thank you I owe you" I smiled as I put my wallet back into my bag.

" how has work been" I asked as she walked back to make my drink, from where she was we could continue our conversation.

" stressful a lot of college students are finding this place now so people are coming in and out very often" she explained.

" well don't forget me and Scarlett were ur first college students here" I teased lightly making her smile as she slid my drink in front of me.

" I would never" she smiled her gaze slowly trailing down to my lips and back up to my eyes.

I cleared my throat lightly looking around when sharp brown eyes connected with mine— there was a flash of something in them I just didn't know what.

Her fist were balled up as they rested on top the table, her drink empty and that lady she was with long gone.

" I'll probably stop by tomorrow it was good talking to you" I smiled at Allyson before I grabbed my drink and making my way out the door.

I stopped at my apartment dropping my book bag off , I decided on hopping in the shower.

I slipped on a grey hoodie and black flared leggings and putting on my white air forces.

I grabbed my wallet that was setting on the counter before making my way out my apartment.

I stopped at target on my way to Calistas party I grabbed a few Barbie's and some little snacks that I thought she might like.

I was heading towards the checkout when I saw a cherry coke in the fridges , Avery brings one to school with her everyday so I decided why not grab her one while I was right here.

I checked out and put everything in the gift bag before I called Scarlett for a ride because there was no way I was walked 30 minutes to her house.

" okay I'll text you when I'm ready for you to get me I love you" I said before I got out of the car.

" I love you too, be safe hoe" Scarlett yelled as she rolled the window down making me roll my eyes.

" quit being embarrassing" I replied as I walked up to her porch, knocking on the door.

Scarlett pulled off just as the door was pulled open , Calista on the other side.

" Mommy , Abella is here" Calista yelled as she let me in, pushing the door shut behind me.

" here this is for you" I told the little girl handing her the pink and silver bag. She smiled excitedly before running off towards the kitchen.

I followed behind her to find her mother setting some decorations up.

"looks like your having fun" I smirked lightly as I crossed my arms looking up at Avery who was hanging up a banner.

" Shut up" she rolled her eyes at me as she finished her task stepping down from the chair, Calista ran off into the living room there was some type of movie on.

" who were you with earlier" Avery asked as she licked her lips turning to set the tape on the island.

" what are you talking about" I questioned raising an eyebrow at her, " at the coffee shop, you were smiling a lot" Avery said as she turned her attention back to me.

" she's my friend" I replied as I looked down playing with my nails her strong eye contact was making me nervous.

"Hm" she hummed before turning to grab something out the fridge. " why? Jealous" I said jokingly as I sat my keys down on her island.

" No I don't do jealous" she scoffed making me roll my eyes. " Who were you with" I questioned  as I picked at paint on my nails.

" My cousin analeah" she replied as a small smirk appeared on her face. " why? Jealous" she repeated the same line I said earlier.

"Maybe" I mumbled before I switched the topic before she could actually realize what I said.

" Here I got this for you" I said as I grabbed the drink out of my bag sliding it across the island.

" thank you I was just about to stop at the store and get me one" she smiled softly making me smile as well.

After that all of Calistas friends came it was about 10 of them in total and they started off by playing in the backyard .

After about 45 minutes of them running around , playing tag, and a few rounds of hide n go seek it started to rain and thunder.

After that they all settled in the theater watching Monsters inc.

After finishing monsters inc , Calista decided to turn on finding Nemo —- after her mother insisted on all of the girls putting their pajamas on.

Once they all settled down and got back comfortable it got quiet again—- my head was resting against Avery's chest as all the girls sat on the bean bags in front of us.

I could hear her heart beating over the rain and thunder which is a good thing otherwise I would've freaked out by now.

Ever since I was a kid I've had the biggest fear of thunder , rain isn't the problem I love rain but as soon as the thunder starts I start to panic.

My eye lids were getting heavy as I watched the screen , her heartbeat was the calming noise that make me fall asleep within seconds.
