“Jason, you seem cheerful today,” Corynn observed, noting his subtle smile.

“Just added an interesting person,” Jason replied, his tone light.

Corynn felt a surge of relief wash through her.

Perhaps Jason had found someone special; it was a thought that made her genuinely happy for him.

Across the table, Erick kept shooting Corynn meaningful glances, his expression growing more animated as she continued to ignore his hints.

He couldn’t understand why she didn’t see Jason as the catch he was.

Meanwhile, Jason was secretly communicating with Elliot. Reading Elliot’s self–absorbed messages, Jason couldn’t suppress a sneer.

Glancing at his calendar, Jason noted that Elliot’s wedding was only three days away. Switching to his main account, he sent a message to Amanda:

“Keep a close eye on your man. Ensure everything goes to plan.”

Despite his distaste for Amanda, Jason found their temporary alliance useful to thwart Elliot’s plans.
